    • @serjerbazo
      @serjerbazo 3 года назад +6

      I feel u. A few months ago I could be days without really eating anything. I don't like my body but I didn't eat due to a lack of hunger and motivation to cook or to buy food, as simple as that. I was just waiting each day to end for a new attempt of sleeping.
      I started there: trying to sleep, then trying to eat 3-5 times/day, then exercising once a week, then twice, then reading once a week, then twice. It's working for me, I don't feel depressed yet.
      Even if my memory is still failing and my stress margin is too low in comparison with before, I don't have more than 1 anxiety attack per month and just a couple of nightmares each week (this week they were funny, I defeated those fears while dreaming).
      The strength doesn't come by magic, you must be the one to make little efforts to grow up your energy. It's hard, it seems impossible, but it isn't. Every step sums up

    This is the real face of depression... the real rappresentation of it. It affects your general approach to life overall, from your sleep and eating schedule to how you see the world around you. Personally I struggle a lot with short term memory and brain fog at work. It seems I can't remember my tasks, dates or either the names of my collegues. I'm always so afraid. There's also the physical pain on my neck and back and a general sense of burden on my body and legs. I think these sides of depression are kinda debilitating in some ways and difficult to point out or even explain to other people. They can see there's something off but they don't get it.

    I always thought I was crazy. I have major depressive disorder and all of this I pretty much knew except the eyesight one I thought was me just being dramatic. I noticed that the rare days I am happier the world looks brighter than usual even if it's a gloomy and dark day. Things look clearer and brighter or more vivid. I always kinda thought it was just me noticing things more rather than just being stuck in my head as bad.

Its not full pain but just like a dull continuos throbbing and i realize oookkkaayyyy i need to take it easy.

    Meanwhile, there's people who doesn't think you have depression even if you admitted or that they think you're joking.
    If they *always* think that way, it's probably better to not let them help.

      Depression is still stigmatized around the world and more work needs to be done around it. I live in Canada and there is a definite effort to de-stigmatize it and bring more awareness to it, but it's a slow process. I especially hate how the media and entertainment industry portray depressed people ... usually as someone deranged or waiting to get revenge on people, or living in a dark basement. Depression presents itself in a multitude of ways, with different severities, etc, etc.
      I've lived with depression for 20 years now and it's still a struggle at times and I've never told anyone about it due to the stigma (only my doctor and pharmacist knows). I don't think anyone I know would think I'm a psychopath, but I know they would look at me differently and treat me differently, which is something I definitely don't want.
      I hope you can find someone who can support you through your struggles.💛💚💙💜🧡

    I relate to some of these things. I am diagnosed with type 2 bipolar disorder, and sometimes it feels like your brain is failing and gradually being "shut down". I have the decrease of color contrast since at least 2014, but only it only began to bother me in 2021 when I had the worst depression of my life. Just for some perspective, I once bought bright yellow Post-Its thinking they were the light yellow ones, because the bright yellow looked like they were light yellow and the light yellow looked like they were made of recycled paper instead. Sometimes the clear sky looks like it is powder blue (hex color #B6D0E2) instead of the usual sky blue (hex color #87CEEB).

    I don’t know if anyone will take the time to read this, but I just don’t feel that much emotion anymore. I just don’t feel motivated and it’s hard for me to even get out of bed sometimes. I don’t necessarily feel sad, just a little empty and like there isn’t really that much left I guess. The world just seems to fall apart around me. Comments from anyone can hurt me, even though it’s clearly a joke it gets to me. One of the only things that got me out of bed today was the fact that I was meeting my aunt and her puppy today. There is also one person that makes me happy whenever they are around, and when they are they compliment me and I can’t help but feel butterflies towards them! I don’t think they feel the same though. I always try and get out of doing things like chores or physical activities. I just don’t feel like I can really be myself anyone more and I just give my happiness to others so they won’t feel the same. But that doesn’t seem to work and I don’t know what to do anymore. I just don’t feel like I’m on the right path in life and I don’t feel like myself anymore. Just an empty shell of what I used to be.
