Tbh show Jaime is not book Jaime. Show Jaime is nuts about Cersei. I know it sucks because Brienne got her heart broken. But I felt saving Cersei and the unborn baby made sense for show Jaime. The love scene with Brienne was really forced because D&D did not explore them dealing with expressing their feelings properly. It was a very corny scene considering the pure love Jaime and Brienne had for each other. "I never cared for the people" was what confused me...Jaime was truly affected that he admitted he killed Aerys to save the rest before he fainted in the tub.

Talking about last scene in the show. Nikolaj(Jaime): ....and now we all here together again. Gwendoline(Brienne): I cried for two hours. I was absolutely inconsolable. After episode 5&6, we all get to know what he meant, and why she cried.
Seeing the actors laughing and happy almost makes up for the nightmare that was ending of ep 4 and 5. I wish that had been a dream sequence for Brienne or Jaime.

I think it’s more Gwendoline and Nikolaj are just bad (i.e. really really good) interviewees
