I hope you get around to playing Gravity Rush 2, it improves on the original in almost every aspect and is truly an amazing game to play. that being said unfortunately GR2 is likely the last game we're gonna see in the series, the creator said that with the closing of GR2 and the ens of Kat's story he doesn't plan on returning to the series for a long while. He did however, say in an interview that if we do see another game in the series it will star a new cast of characters but take place in the same universe...and that it likely wont happen till whenever the PS5 comes around. side note: Gravity Rush remastered's physical release was an amazon exclusive and some dickhead scalper bought them all out and relisted them for initially $200 but the price has slowly been going down.
you can purchase the chinese or european version for like 25$... I ended up buying the chinese version. comes with english subtitle and the ps4 is region free by default. the only "cons" is that cross and circle are reverse witch takes some times to get used to
Does GR2 give a closure to Kat's origin and who she actually is? The first one ending on a cliff hanger was such a cock tease. I played it on the Vita but don't have a PS4. I am interested in getting one just for gravity rush 2 if I get closure for the story.
Gravity Rush 2 closes up the story pretty well. Kat's origins are explained and we learn alot about the other characters like Sid as well. If you can get a cheap a ps4 for GR 2 I highly recommend it. Also theres a free dlc that centers around Raven and goes into more detail on her past. and you get to play as her. If you do get a ps4 other games I'd recommend in addition to GR 2 are; Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, bloodborne, Nier Automata, Valkyria Chronicles Remastered and Gravity Rush Remastered.
It's not really gibberish, it's actually a bit of french mixed with a bit of japanese, but the words people verbally say almost never actually match what they're talking about in text
Wait Did you not know about the Gravity slide?? I noticed you didn't use it during the races, as well as at all in your footage! You use it while on the ground by holding L2 + R2n and it's pretty vital for several sections in the game!
aquaflare1 it very much one of my favorite abilities in the game, and i loved how you coukd chain it into a kick, and despite the gravity kick being rather powerful conpared to other attacks the dodge kick was my main attack for almost all ground enemies. But in the second game i was absolutely thrilled with how they inproved the slide, allowing dodges while sliding as well as your jumps actually keeping your forward momentum, kat is also way springier in two, and i feel that is an amazing choice
Luke McHenry I didn’t know how to do it around the time I learned and I was getting pissed with certain sections but then when I learned how to do it the game became a breeze
Not true Sony Interactive Entertainment showcased it for years on end at major gaming events, had countless collaborations with their partners to showcase it across different media types, remastered the original, created several very popular live action trailers, released a completely free prequel chapter, even made a short animated film based on it If anything fans failed Gravity Rush not the other way around
@@bamban_garcia5562All well and good, but none of those would let many people who probably aren't already keeping track of artsy video games know that it exists, especially since those excellent live action commercials were mostly in Japan or at the start of the lifespan of the barely marketed in the West PlayStation Vita (AKA, the system that got tons of people in its exact target demographic asking me what it was when I played it at work or while on line at PAX and ComicCon). Meanwhile, they even took Kat off of the Women's Month banner on the PlayStation Store.
Gravity Rush 2 finishes the story on a high note, and it fixes a lot of the problems with the original. Gravity Rush 2 is honestly one of the greatest games ever made.
Yeah, and I think a big reason is the second game was actually developed for a proper console, not a handheld. GR1 was meant to be on a console before it was retooled for a handheld, so story content had to be cut and the graphics and maps dialed back.
Own Gravity Rush on the Vita and loved it. I remember when the PS4 version came out for $30 and eventually got clearanced to $20 I almost picked it up even though I didn’t have a PS4. Wanted to get it for when I eventually did get a PS4 in the future. Added it to my cart and at the last second told myself it was just a waste of money... now it’s over $100... damn lol
You realize there’s no hard rule that you need hardware first before getting software right? You end up at the same goal of playing the game either way
Bro where's grav slide and stasis in your gameplay, grav slide makes races easier and it can be lead into a powerful kick and stasis is amazing for crowd control.
This game reminds me of a rare GameCube game I own called Cubivore. A strange but intriguing game that’s definitely worth going back to play nowadays. I loved the Outro to this video though because of how simple it is, like a aspiring RUclipsr just trying out new ways to end videos. This was great going back to watch, although I miss the tales from the backlog series because they kinda just died out and never came back 😔
I have just replayed gravity rush and I have to say, I like that it's combat challenges and not platforming or obstacle courses. Using the kick, gravity kick, slide kick, stasis field, and specials in conjunction with just flying is very fun. If you're stuck against a bunch of enemies start zig zagging. Some of my fondest memories of this game is flinging myself around with my vita to avoid enemies
One of my favorite games of all time. Glad to see it's part of scott the woz history now. This is also the episode that got me to subscribe over a year ago
This has been one of my favorite series since 2012. The art style blows me away. Gravity rush 2 improved on a lot, but ended up being annoyingly large. Loved the story still
Maaaaaan I was looking at reviews to see if anyone else found the "difficulty spike" in endgame unfair and frustrating and you just saved my goddamn life! I didn't realize I had to level up either and was about to drop the game at the same section you talked about as it was feeling soooo unfair! But the only unfair thing was my stupidity! 😆 After leveling up, I did it second try. Now I can go back to loving this adorable game, thanks!
How are you not a bigger channel. Better than 3/4, of all RUclipsrs (in my opinion of course) great production value, Intuitive and unique. Idk man im subscribed. Everyone should find out about you. watched every video dude
Sadly you're right. The combat is super fun but it was made for a portable gyroscoping console. But the remastered version was really just an HD port for the PS4. The second game is in fact PS4 oriented and the combat feels a lot better there.
I actually remember seeing a short review for this game in a newspaper back in 2012. (Each week had batches of 3 game reviews.) Man, this game if any stuck in my mind after reading about it, bit I never had a vita. Good to see it's getting recognition nontheless.
Nice video man you totally got me interested in this game having trouble tracking it down I'll probably just get it offline however I did find the second one and picked it up relatively cheap and I've played about 30 minutes of it and I enjoy what I played so far oh, maybe sometime in the future you can get around to reviewing the second one keep up the good work Scotty good job
I've seen this game at my local toy store a handful of times, and was quite interested in it but always forgot to look it up by the time I came home Now that I've seen this video I might actually buy it some day
OMG I apparently overlooked on leveling too! I wasn’t too crazy about GR at first tbh but now I’m seemingly starting to “get it” and have become a little more experienced with modern day open world games..
When I played this I didn't knew you could level up. How the heck did I finish this game?! Now I know why it took me so much to finish it when I was a kid.
The gravity slide attack one shots most enemies. With the dodge roll, standard kicks actually become quite useful. Plus, picking up objects in stasis and throwing them at enemies is very useful. The gameplay of this game rocks once it really clicks for you. I don’t think it’s nearly as fun without the motion controls on the Dualshock 4 or Vita, though. Plus, just get up close to enemies. You can dodge midair even when shifting. Then your gravity kick is nearly garunteed to hit. Thanks for noticing this series, by the way. Sony really did it dirty.
My favorite playthrough, the 3rd time I played this, was upgrading everything else except for health. At that point, I liked how enemies put up a fight and utilized the dodge mechanic more.
can we get an F for Scott not realizing leveling up. bro on the pillar I had like x10 times that health and everything almost maxed out. finished getting 100%, it was really fun and sometimes annoying
I bought my copy of Gravity Rush on Vita (US print and sealed) about a year and a half ago for £15... Now they all go for £50+ and climbing, even more if sealed? I almost regret opening it, except I don't because the game is lovely
Gravity Rush really suffered from being chopped down to work on a handheld part-way through its development. Definitely check out Gravity Rush 2 (which was developed for the PS4 and not a handheld). It addresses pretty much every criticism you have in this video, including much more interesting & varied combat, and a larger and more satisfying story (including plot elements that had to be cut from the first game).
I was super lucky to find this game for like $70 at GameStop. Grabbed it as soon as I could. Already owned a Hong Kong version (which, at least before the fall of Hong Kong, was easily the cheapest way to get the game in English) but I couldn't pass it up. Play Gravity Rush 2! Easily one of my favorite games on the PS4. A shame Sony killed this franchise and everything else from Japan Studio.
LMAOOO! The OoO on your face when someone honked at the very end was hilarious! X'D It's kinda sad that the basic concept of Gravity Rush sounds awesome, but the execution was at least somewhat disappointing. lol. Hopefully 2 is better! Would love to hear your thoughts on it someday!
I haven’t played Gravity Rush in well over a year and I also played the Vita version so what I say may be a little off but I actually loved the combat. I think the developers intended for the player to *make* the combat awesome, that’s what I did anyway. EG: One of my favourite things to do was use the sliding jump to flip over charging enemies and then hit them with the rock move when they left themselves open long enough for it to charge. It just feels badass.
Waiting for Gravity Rush 2 one. Hell, we do need more tales from the backlog period. That and an updated gameroom tour. At least, all these years later, Gravity Rush is still solidly at $75. I bought mine in like 2022 or so. It was the first purchase of a ps4 game I made after getting a ps4. It's such a fun game. I want to get the vita version now that I got a vita, but it's redundant and I'm limited on space. But this game does seem like such a great portable game. Rumor is there's going to be a show or movie coming, and with that gravity rush 2 is being remastered, and it'll supposedly come to pc. That's awesome, but I hope they also bring the first game to pc. I have the second game, but know nothing about it, as I want to finish the first before i play the second. I may get the vita gravity rush sealed, since i got it for ps4. But honeslty, I feel like it's a game I'd want to play more on the vita than the ps4, just because it's such a fun game to play while chilling watching tv or something.
Gravity rush was literally the only game other than call of duty I could flex on my friends with when I bought my vita during release. Spent a total of 600$ on my vita after I was done and imo it was worth it just for the ps1 classics but gravity rush and persona 5 were a great addition.
Need more of this series. Now that you have a much larger audience, you should put out another installment - I think it could be much more popular than this lowly 770 views, for sure! Just make sure you put a little more effort than usual so the series makes a good first impression on all the new subs ^^

I like the idea for this series, good way to show off some lesser known games, not something you see a whole lot
Alex Pappagallo Aaaand then it died. Just search for Steam cleaning.
Lesser known games like resident evil 4 and the legend of zelda

It's not really gibberish, it's actually a bit of french mixed with a bit of japanese, but the words people verbally say almost never actually match what they're talking about in text
Also, did you forget about the slide move, cos there are several sections here where it's quicker to slide, but you're shown shifting
Except when they say character names.
