I had to go about it slightly different, I had to make Sahrotaar land and then ride him and have him target the third dragon. For whatever reason I couldn't do any damage to Sahrotaar myself. Still got it to work though.

This was very helpful, I will add that if you’ve completed one of the other black books (I can’t remember which one) and chosen the perk that lets you not damage your companions, you will have to kill the other dragon first as you cannot harm the one you rode earlier. I should note that for whatever reason, dragonrend does not work on this dragon and is very hard to kill, but one you manage that, just proceed normally like in the video, again, very helpful video!
I also couldn’t do any damage to Sahrotaar. Sneaking at first also does not work nor does using dragonrend on the other dragon. You need to make Sahrotaar land with dragonrend then target the other dragon (so that the aim is on him) and use deagonrend, this is the only way dragonrend works on the other dragon, when you see him land, command your dragon to land quickly and kill the other dragon (it’s faster if you use a bow) if you fail to kill him before he starts flying again you’ll need to repeat this process. Miraak will absorb but after you get him down again he will get stuck again…now this time since there are no other dragons left go hide behind some pillars and until you are fully hidden and this time sneaking will work. Finnish him off and done.
1y later and i'm having this problem lol. what sucks is since dual wielding is melee and i chose to do the dragonborn dlc first, i had to go down to difficulty novice to kill the weird ahh dragon with sparks. took me a while but i were able to, so... thats a solution for someone without dragonrend.
Tried and tested: sneak. Use illusion spell invisibility with sneak at least 70-80. He will get out of astral form. And if you have all 3 dragons dead and he is still astral after last dragon, hide behind a pile of books or in a dark corner, sneak with invisibility until he is not in combat mode and you can kill him like normal. I couldn't think of anything else of how to get out of it but that. And btw: this is WITH AND WITHOUT mods.
This helped me so much thank you! I have a level 178 account no mods no nothing. Minus the game exploits i’ve taken advantage of. In other words a trophy account. Anyways I was doing this DLC trying to get all the trophies and had this same problem. This video helped a fuckton thank you so much
Thank you so much, this helped a lot. The game would not let me kill “Saarothtarr”. So I rode “Saarothtarr” to kill the other dragon that was flying around, then I got off “Saarothtarr” to deal damage to Miraak then Miraak killed “Saarothtarr” which now I was able to kill Miraak. Oh my goodness that took a while to do but I appreciate this information. I would have never thought to call the dragon down.

When I arrived for the final battle with Miraak one of the dragons was missing and I am nowhere close to having Dragonrend yet but killing Sahrotar was definitely part of the solution. I just had to blast him with Lightning Storm until he took enough damage to force him to land, otherwise more or less the same solution. Thanks again!
Bro thanks you so much I took me like 4 or 6 hours to fix this with commands never works the music combat was in loop when i finish the quest with command, I tried to reload pre save and nothing still with the same and this video help me so much wow !!!! you are the best
The way I broke it was to beat miraak into ethereal, then use dragonrend on the dragon that’s under your bend will, forcing him to land so you can ride him, equipped my most powerful ranged spells locking onto the other dragon until it’s health became low enough that it was forced to land, finish him off so miraak will absorb his soul breaking him out of his ethereal state, then instead of beating miraak into his ethereal state again (this would break my game) I would use dragonrend again on the final dragon (under my bend will effect) and kill him instead of even attempting to hurt miraak at this stage, this will cause miraak to absorb the third and final soul meaning I was free to finally go all out and defeat him. Absolutely ridiculous glitch that should never be allowed to happen but at least this one is actually beatable.
Ever since downloading that fucking anniversary addition my game has been nothing but a big bastard glitch bag particularly with every single DLC, including hearthfire where my houses never furnish properly and everything else imaginable, it’s a joke lol. Just wish they’d release the next elder scrolls so I can forget about this shit 😂
For mine miraak won't even kill the dragon or absorb the soul he just stands there its completely game breaking, even in the open world where I kill a dragon he won't absorb a dragon soul. Anyone got any ideas why? I am on a modded game as well. (Ps4)
Crazy how no one seems to have had the same issue i had. Sahrotaar became hostile again and miraak didnt come back, had to bend his will again and he wouldnt stop flying till i managed to hit a lucky shot. The miraak reappeared, absorved Sahrotaars soul and got his ass beat
I ended up making an exploit enchantment •Bows do 100000% more damage• on a circlet. You can 1 shot all 3 dragons right at the start. Then all you gotta do is kill Miraak

I was able to complete the quest by equipping the unique scimitar Windshear and I also equipped an apparel item with a powerful fortify one-handed enchantment that had a very high magnitude (I used the resto pot loop glitch to get a really strong enchantment) so I could just one hit Miraak to take away all his health then he'd pop to the center of the arena absorb his dragon soul and then he'd pop out of ethereal form and then I would one hit him again after he absorbed all the dragon souls I hit him again and then Mora killed him and I looted his gear.
Was going nuts because I couldn't harm Sahrothaar due to the black book perk, for some reason after reloading a third time Miraak properly healed every time and got through
You can always not drop him to critical health, in legendary that is easily achievable and you simply have to be careful not to spam attacks that deal too much damage like dual fury for example and just chip his health after it drops to 40% or so.
This was recorded on Legendary difficulty 😅 but yeah there's other ways. This is just a quick fix is all if you're too op and don't have anything else.
This worked for me but I couldn’t kill the dragon with the rend shout. Wrong perk. So I rode him instead, killed the dragon in the air, and did the steps outlined in the tutorial. I did have an invisibility spell, and 100 sneak, so that got me hidden quicker.
Thanks! Took a little while longer for my “sneak” to take affect but it eventually worked as shown in video. I used an invisibility spell so I’m not sure if that aided. Worth a try.
This boss fight seems to glitch in many different ways I will put up how it glitched for me and how to solve it as it is very similar to what I’ve heard from others but not similar enough that any of their suggestions fixed it. So I saved right before fighting Miraak fortunately. The problem is that somehow one of his dragons was not on the map when I saved so this messed up the boss fight for me in a variety of different ways. For one I could not attack my own dragon after he dropped me off. And the other dragon was resistant to literally everything and only Miraak could kill him. For about an hour I tried killing Miraak with a fork because I seen if you do less damage he has less chance of glitching out (didn’t work) and then I tried to kill my own dragon (like in the video for Miraak to absorb his soul (but it didn’t work because he was immune to everything). So how did I end up fixing this? How I fixed this was turning around and killing my dragon before he even had the chance to take off. It was only at this state I was able to do any damage to him. Immediately after I damaged Miraak he absorbed my dragons soul. I beat Miraak down like normal and he glitched out like normal but a simple solution is to hide from him behind a huge pile of books on the map. This prompted him to leave ethereal and search for me once I was hidden for a few seconds. I then got his health down again and he went ethereal. At this point I had no idea what to expect because his other dragon just wasn’t there. Luckily he absorbed the soul anyways and I hid again until he came out. After I just got his health down one last time and Herma killed him when he tried to go ethereal again. I will note that I noticed a lot in this hour of trial and error so I’m going to list them so that others are aware of some things you can run into. For one Miraak can sometimes just completely glitch off the map when going ethereal and the only way I found to fix it was rerun an old save and try again. Another thing I noticed is that as long as you’re own dragon is alive and attacking Miraak he will not leave ethereal to try to find you. Lastly in my experience it doesn’t matter how much damage you do to him, he will glitch out either way. I literally dwindled his health down with a fork twice and while he said a lot more dialogue it still glitched out as if I were still using my powerful weapons.
Wasn’t able to kill Sahrotaar, I tried riding him to kill the second dragon and succeeded but when Miraak absorbed the soul he was still frozen in ethereal
Im on PS5. Mine glitched so bad that there was no 3rd dragon visible, it was INSIDE the platform we fought on and not to mention i didnt even have dragon rend. I looked up a bunch and couldnt do anything. I almost gave up. Instead i stayed on Sahrotaar and let him kill then absorb it, next i tamed the one other dragon and did the same (all without damaging miraak) he absorbed the soul aswell. (For others that have the 3rd drg not glitched i would advise doing it a 3rd time) since my 3rd wasnt visible i just hurt him till he absorbed the invisible dragon. It glitched him and i was stuck BUT i didnt try to hide. That would likely work. Instead i was so aggrovated that i didnt even pause the game. I sheathed and stood there searching for a solution. After awhile when my camera started to turn around me in afk mode, he just started to attack me. I killed him and it was over.
I had to do restoration loop to get an OP bow. One shot my dragon, and use slo-mo to shoot the other two dragons then kill Miraak. It was all done in about 15 seconds and since all the dragons are dead he’ll just die.
I have a new bug. I have the modded anniversary edition and Maraak doesnt take any damage from the start of the fight. It isnt a stuck in ethereal issue. Ive tried old saves, hiding, and killing the dragons. I never had the chance to over damage him to start the glitch. Anyone else run into this? Any advice?
@@itsobsidion6870 there's a better strat, take out all of the dragons first before you even think about taking Miraak on, I saw another video, tried that out and it worked first time :D It really is annoying how broken Skyrim is though, my next mission is to get the Guardian Circle spell without it glitching out, due to the game getting confused with restoration and illusion, thank the gods for save states lol
@@Talos2kX I had that happen to me. I just did a hard save right outside of the room in the middeb after completing the mission. Ran to her, she didn't have it, reloaded save, ran back again and she had it.
No worries. You have to wait some time. I play Skyrim on a ps4 and i had to wait almost 10 minutes or so. In that time you can get yourself something to eat, thats what i did.
Dragons are all dead? If so just make sure your behind something and wait. Sometimes it'll take a bit longer than others. If that won't work maybe try buying/making a couple potions of invisibility to use while hidden just to up your chances!
I’m having an issue where mora kills him but instead of his skeleton dropping he gets stuck mid air and it says he’s still alive so can’t get his armour
It still didn’t work I just uninstalled I paid $40 for a glitchy mess just before I found this glitch I had issues with other glitches that I had to look up solutions to like not being able to take weapons off my weapon rack or not being able to draw my weapons I had to delete one of my characters because they got stuck in werewolf form and wouldn’t change back im not playing a game that is riddled with bugs
This worked on my ps5 version that kept getting stuck. Only one dragon besides the one I bent will shows up on screen. Killing both and then sneaking broke the loop. Spread the word for this bug on console

Even if to only help a few people, it's pretty game breaking especially if you're a completionist like myself!

It isn’t working for me. One dragon is dead, I have the perk that won’t let me kill the one I rode, and I can’t kill the other dragon while riding him because he just flies around and doesn’t attack. This is stupid. I’ve tried 5 times and nothing works. And I don’t have old saves to go back to.
No problem! It happened to me and I panicked because I was trying to collect everything and do everything in the game and I was so sad. Luckily I found this in some super old post somewhere but no one updated it or anything. Just figured I'd try it and behold!
You probably have the companion's insight perk from one of the Black Books. If you do, well it's best you reload a save and change the perk. All dragons and other npc's that are affected by the Bend Will shout are considered companions. I hope this helps
I have Skyrim for Nintendo Switch and the Battle music is stuck in a loop after I finished the Battle of Solitude on the Stormcloak side. Do you know how to get the Battle music to stop playing over and over and over ? I've tried ever solution I've seen online so far and nothing has worked. The only thing I know to do is just turn the volume down and play with no music. I tried fast traveling, sleeping 24 hrs and saving while a bard sings then reloading that save and none of it works. Killed multiple Dragons as well and still the same music playing. I know it's definitely a Major glitch because Solitude doesn't have any Imperial or Stormcloak guards guarding the inside of the city after the Battle. But everywhere I go people talk about Ulfric and the Stormcloaks winning the war. Tried talking to Ulfric to and traveling to Stormcloak camps that didn't work and Solitude isn't even shown on the map now either.
Holy moly..for the music one I don't know. I never play with music on personally and the solitude Ulrich thing I have no clue. Thats a crazy glitch indeed 🤯😳

The glitch is so crazy the Stormcloak named Rolaf started walking through villages killing random guards and villagers and killed his sister Gerder that runs the saw mill in Riverwood. I just walked behind him watching him on his murder spree across Skyrim after he finally arrived at a fort he was supposed to help me fight at he started acting normal. So I fast traveled to Windhelm then when I arrived a Courier ran up to me and left me Gerder's will saying she left me $100 gold. In the middle of all that madness a giant fell out of the sky and then a Dragon appeared and lit him on fire while Rolaf ran around like a Lunatic LoL started to tape all of it and post it on my You Tube Channel but I was too busy laughing 😀

I know it’s a year later but if none of these options work, try upping the difficulty, I used legendary difficulty and it fixed it.
My problem was my spells were too powerful, they took too much health and miraak wouldnt fully heal, appreciate this video. Great help

Unbound storms still hits him. But I also had to use secrets of arcana to make the magika spent zero and bing bang boom that dragon died.

Easiest way: when he got invincible go stealth behind some rock and a pile of books. When the eye is closed he turns normal and can be defeated

What I did was just skowly chip away his health with the fire breath shout and it worked

Yeah all of my skills on this character were maxed with all perks so my sneak was up there. Glad it helped out!

Also I found that using a healing spell on miraak worked
Game won't let me heal him. heal other can't touch his hit box, I even tried the scroll that heals everyone in the center. Didn't work.

After I just got his health down one last time and Herma killed him when he tried to go ethereal again.
I will note that I noticed a lot in this hour of trial and error so I’m going to list them so that others are aware of some things you can run into. For one Miraak can sometimes just completely glitch off the map when going ethereal and the only way I found to fix it was rerun an old save and try again. Another thing I noticed is that as long as you’re own dragon is alive and attacking Miraak he will not leave ethereal to try to find you. Lastly in my experience it doesn’t matter how much damage you do to him, he will glitch out either way. I literally dwindled his health down with a fork twice and while he said a lot more dialogue it still glitched out as if I were still using my powerful weapons.
Wasn’t able to kill Sahrotaar, I tried riding him to kill the second dragon and succeeded but when Miraak absorbed the soul he was still frozen in ethereal
Im on PS5. Mine glitched so bad that there was no 3rd dragon visible, it was INSIDE the platform we fought on and not to mention i didnt even have dragon rend. I looked up a bunch and couldnt do anything. I almost gave up. Instead i stayed on Sahrotaar and let him kill then absorb it, next i tamed the one other dragon and did the same (all without damaging miraak) he absorbed the soul aswell. (For others that have the 3rd drg not glitched i would advise doing it a 3rd time) since my 3rd wasnt visible i just hurt him till he absorbed the invisible dragon. It glitched him and i was stuck BUT i didnt try to hide. That would likely work. Instead i was so aggrovated that i didnt even pause the game. I sheathed and stood there searching for a solution. After awhile when my camera started to turn around me in afk mode, he just started to attack me. I killed him and it was over.

I had to do restoration loop to get an OP bow. One shot my dragon, and use slo-mo to shoot the other two dragons then kill Miraak. It was all done in about 15 seconds and since all the dragons are dead he’ll just die.

I have a new bug. I have the modded anniversary edition and Maraak doesnt take any damage from the start of the fight. It isnt a stuck in ethereal issue. Ive tried old saves, hiding, and killing the dragons. I never had the chance to over damage him to start the glitch. Anyone else run into this? Any advice?

Did you wait some time? It has to be hidden then wait for his health to regen. Eventually he should exit combat mode

@@itsobsidion6870 there's a better strat, take out all of the dragons first before you even think about taking Miraak on, I saw another video, tried that out and it worked first time :D
It really is annoying how broken Skyrim is though, my next mission is to get the Guardian Circle spell without it glitching out, due to the game getting confused with restoration and illusion, thank the gods for save states lol
@@Talos2kX I had that happen to me. I just did a hard save right outside of the room in the middeb after completing the mission. Ran to her, she didn't have it, reloaded save, ran back again and she had it.
No worries. You have to wait some time. I play Skyrim on a ps4 and i had to wait almost 10 minutes or so. In that time you can get yourself something to eat, thats what i did.

I got to the part where you need to be hidden. The eye won’t close to have me “hidden”
Dragons are all dead? If so just make sure your behind something and wait. Sometimes it'll take a bit longer than others. If that won't work maybe try buying/making a couple potions of invisibility to use while hidden just to up your chances!
Also this character has 100 Sneak with all the perks, so this is the shortest time it'll take to be hidden so I think the potions will help you out

I’m having an issue where mora kills him but instead of his skeleton dropping he gets stuck mid air and it says he’s still alive so can’t get his armour

I'm late to the game but i got a bug, like this but the dragon left without me
It still didn’t work I just uninstalled I paid $40 for a glitchy mess just before I found this glitch I had issues with other glitches that I had to look up solutions to like not being able to take weapons off my weapon rack or not being able to draw my weapons I had to delete one of my characters because they got stuck in werewolf form and wouldn’t change back im not playing a game that is riddled with bugs

This worked on my ps5 version that kept getting stuck. Only one dragon besides the one I bent will shows up on screen. Killing both and then sneaking broke the loop. Spread the word for this bug on console

Even if to only help a few people, it's pretty game breaking especially if you're a completionist like myself!

New thing that worked for me was using dual sparks spell it made him die really slow and worked

Yeah that's the issue I think is doing too much damage too fast. I was so upset and happened to find this so figured I'd share I'm case anyone had the issue I had!
It isn’t working for me. One dragon is dead, I have the perk that won’t let me kill the one I rode, and I can’t kill the other dragon while riding him because he just flies around and doesn’t attack. This is stupid. I’ve tried 5 times and nothing works. And I don’t have old saves to go back to.
I think I can re-read the Black Book that gave me Companion’s Insight and pick a different Perk. I’ll lyk after I try.

Yeah unfortunately you'll have to leave the book and return to the main quest until getting the shout for this method to work.

You probably have the companion's insight perk from one of the Black Books. If you do, well it's best you reload a save and change the perk. All dragons and other npc's that are affected by the Bend Will shout are considered companions. I hope this helps
So I took this perk as well. I rode him and attacked the dragon in air, completing that cycle

I have Skyrim for Nintendo Switch and the Battle music is stuck in a loop after I finished the Battle of Solitude on the Stormcloak side. Do you know how to get the Battle music to stop playing over and over and over ? I've tried ever solution I've seen online so far and nothing has worked. The only thing I know to do is just turn the volume down and play with no music. I tried fast traveling, sleeping 24 hrs and saving while a bard sings then reloading that save and none of it works. Killed multiple Dragons as well and still the same music playing. I know it's definitely a Major glitch because Solitude doesn't have any Imperial or Stormcloak guards guarding the inside of the city after the Battle. But everywhere I go people talk about Ulfric and the Stormcloaks winning the war. Tried talking to Ulfric to and traveling to Stormcloak camps that didn't work and Solitude isn't even shown on the map now either.
Holy moly..for the music one I don't know. I never play with music on personally and the solitude Ulrich thing I have no clue. Thats a crazy glitch indeed 🤯😳

The glitch is so crazy the Stormcloak named Rolaf started walking through villages killing random guards and villagers and killed his sister Gerder that runs the saw mill in Riverwood. I just walked behind him watching him on his murder spree across Skyrim after he finally arrived at a fort he was supposed to help me fight at he started acting normal. So I fast traveled to Windhelm then when I arrived a Courier ran up to me and left me Gerder's will saying she left me $100 gold. In the middle of all that madness a giant fell out of the sky and then a Dragon appeared and lit him on fire while Rolaf ran around like a Lunatic LoL started to tape all of it and post it on my You Tube Channel but I was too busy laughing 😀
