  • In this series of 38 tutorials you will quickly learn all the basics of working with the software.
The tutorials are organized in seven sections and were designed to be easy to follow, clear and to the point.
    Basic Interface
    videos 1 to 4
In the first part, you will learn the overall interface, how the layer structures work, what is the logic of the timeline, how you can animate already created characters and how to export your animation.
    Basic rigging with bitmaps
    videos 5 to 12
In the second part, we will show you how to create a puppet from a Photoshop file. You will learn how to prepare the illustration, create a basic skeleton and even create distortion meshes and Smart Bones to animate expressions easily.
    Basic Animation
    videos 13 to 15
In the third part we will cover concepts about movement, how to use different keyframes types, why and how to use the graph and even create cycles of animation.
    Vector Drawing
    Videos 16 to 21
Once you know all the basics of working with images, we will move to the vector drawing tools coming with Moho. In this fourth section you will learn everything related to the drawing and filling tools, the basics of masking, the power of Liquid shapes and, finally, how to draw an entire character in Moho.
    Rigging Vectors
    videos 22 to 26
The fifth section will show you the difference between rigging vector and images, how to set up Smart bones for vector, rigging and entire character, creating Vitruvian bones and animating the vector character.
    Animating Backgrounds
    video 27
With all that done, in the sixth section we will move to set up our background. You will learn how to create parallax to give more depth to your scene, use the camera tools and even add automatic wind to your scene.
    More tools in detail
    videos 28 to 38
Finally, we will cover other tools that can be very useful for your characters and scenes, such as the different options of the timeline, controlled bones, the powerful particle system, frame-by-frame layers, automatic physics, scripts, actions, references, quad meshes, brushes and layer comps.
You can download the necessary files here: bit.ly/MohoCourseFiles
Character and props illustrations made by Óscar Chávez. Background illustration made by María Pareja.

I have to congratulate for the amazing work the Team has done with Moho 14. I also find that to have high quality tutorials right at hand without having to pay for additional courses is a a very strong selling point. I do not mind pay for courses, but there are so many basic tutorials on Moho. I hope someone create an advance course focusing on creating a professional full animation of a couple of minutes, exploring the more advance staff in depth. Well done Team !

Moho seems to only be able to import a PSD with less than 10 layers, heck just mouth shapes for different sounds in my psd was more than 10 layers. I wasn't able to tell if this is just a short fall of the software, or if this is gated for a 'pro edition' which then become a shortfall of the company. But everyone should be aware that they need to keep their psds super clean and with very few (less than 10!) layers if they expect to follow along on these tutorials. I'm currently stuck trying to trick the software into letting me import multiple psds and then assemlbe them in moho again manually. Fantastic.

    • @mohoanimation

PSD layers import is a Pro feature. Since version 14, you can also use it with Debut, but it is limited to 10 layers. You can find the full features comparison on our web: www.mohoanimation.com

Hello!) Got trouble with PSD + Moho. If you've got PSD from PS & you are trying to add folder + layer in it, Moho adds only layer without folder (in "online" mode). The only way to fix it is to reimport entire PSD file but if you've done the animation it's impossible. How to fix it? Cause if I have a "puppet" and i want to add a new switch layer in it for example I got to make folder in moho instead PS cause Moho do not see it! (only when you reimport file(((((((

So all the rigging technically worked. I just learned the part that flexi-bonding is the same as link bones, but should I have made all these into vector layers? They're moving some of my lines from other layers in ways it shouldn't. Like part of the leg moves off with the arm, even though I'm quite sure it's all bonded correctly to the right parts.

  • @pwihms
    @pwihms 9 месяцев назад

You may have mentioned this, though I didn't catch it, when flexing binding, it seems that the bone strength can't be set to zero, otherwise it wouldn't work.

    • @mohoanimation

Can't "Create Smooth Joint for Bone Pairs" and "Link Bones to Layer" work together?
I've bound three bones to a leg and foot through "Link Bones to Layer". But when I apply "Create Smooth Joint for Bone Pairs" to two upper bones linked to the leg, the action inadvertently results in the third bone, which is bound to the foot, becoming unlinked.

    • @mohoanimation
      @mohoanimation  3 месяца назад +1

"Link Bones to layer" can use as many bones as you want, but "Smooth joint for bone pair" only works with two bones. For a similar result using more bones, you can attach your layer to a Curver and then use bones to move the Curver.
The technique is explained in this webinar, (around 40:40) ruclips.net/video/87OBcOWObhk/видео.htmlfeature=shared

After watching the webinar, the Curver is absolutely awesome!
But in the case of "Link Bones to layer" and "Smooth joint for bone pair", I wonder if we can improve their relationship in the next version to make them work together (one binds any bones, one smooths any two adjacent bones), rather than only applying one or another.
It'll become a simpler, cleaner and faster way of binding bones and smoothing the movement. @@mohoanimation
