Can Mormonism pass the same test J. Warner applied to Christianity? Are the claims of Mormonism evidentially reasonable? In this Q and A session, J. Warner begins to answer a question about Jewish believers and turns to a more significant issue related to Jesus and the existence of God.

I am looking forward to your work on Mormonism. My wife came out of Mormonism to the Glory of God but her entire family is still part of it. I try to learn as much as I can about it.

Thank you for the work you’ve done on Mormonism. I’ve read some of the articles on your website about Mormonism and they were immensely helpful. Especially on the Book of Abraham. Keep up the great work, not looking forward to when your dad passes but I do look forward to buying your book on Mormonism whenever it comes out. 👍🏼

@@ermacsmith3709 Mormonism rejects the Bible and is polytheistic. They also believe that we will become gods and that God was once a man like us. Additionally they teach salvation comes by faith + works.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, otherwise known to many as Mormons. I know Christ is my personal savior. I know he loves me and died for me. I have a very real, and personal relationship with Him. I know that through his Grace, I can be the person he wants me to be. I know that through his Grace, that after this mortal life I can return to live with him - whatever that means. We don't really know or understand what that will be like, but I know He wants me to have it, and if He wants me to have it ("having" it isn't really the best phrase to use to explain this) then I want it, and through Him it is possible. Thank you for your faith in Christ. We all have certain experiences with Christ that are similar, but different at the same time. Perhaps, we could all bring our experiences together and be edified together.

      Josh,
Something for you to consider is how belief systems view the Deity of Jesus Christ. The enemy began deceiving believers very early on by creating the lie that Jesus is less than God. This belief is held by other faith practices and even some Christian churches. I’m sure you know there are other ways the enemy seeks to deceive. Some churches, for example, have become false by claiming the Bible contains mistakes which then allows them to justify particular sins the Apostle Paul clearly stated would keep people from inheriting the kingdom of God (1 Cor 6:9). In Revelation, believers are told to come out of the false church. Regarding Mormonism, Lee Strobel has written some very useful commentary. God bless.

You don't believe in the same Christ as us. Same name, different person. The Christ I believe in is supremely God, always is and always will be. Since you reject this (if you are a mormon) you therefore believe in a Christ who cannot save. It's by grace through faith alone that we are saved, not of works lest any man should boast.

@brettmajeske3525 Mormon church teaches that Jesus is the literal son of God, that he is limiters brother, that He didn't become a god until after His resurrection. Being ex Mormon, I can confirm that the jesus of mormonism is not the biblical Jesus. In fact, Gordon b Hinckley even stated in a television interview that the church don't worship the conventional Jesus, therefore, you worship ANOTHER jesus,

As a former Catholic, your system works well for that group. Basically they believe that unless you're a member and practice their sacraments, then you have a chance of going to heaven via purgatory. And, if you believe that you're going to heaven by faith, then you've committed the sin of presumption against God, and you will go to hell. So sad, when the Bible makes it clear that it is by belief in Jesus is Lord, His atoneing death and resurrection that gives life . John 3:16-17, Romans 10:9-11.

Do you have some sources for the things you mention here belonging to the belief system of Catholics? I do not disbelieve you as there are other things that just strike me as not being "of God" with Catholicism, but these things you mention here seem to pretty much close, and burn, the book on Catholicism being true or not.

It is interesting to look back on my own life and spiritual journey. In recent years I have come to view and relate to Father, Son and Spirit differently than in previous years. I have no issues with defining doctrines and hashing out theology and I do believe that a "Christian" defines a specific belief system, with certain basic and core doctrines. I am a Christian.
Where I have changed is in seeing scripture, and God (Yahweh, our creator), in a new light.
For me, knowing that whatever the universal effect and result was from Adam onto humanity, was universally undone, overturned, and restored and renewed in Jesus Christ. Lots of theology involved in determining exactly what happened and how, but bottom line is that whatever the result of Adam's actions were, they we undone in the actions of Jesus. And they affected the very same people that Adam's actions affected.
That being said, I believe it is true that anyone and everyone that calls out to God, even if they don't know His name, will be saved, both in this life and beyond this temporal life.
That completely changes that way I see and relate to my fellow brothers and sisters (we are all the offspring of God), but it doesn't change my desire to know truth and correct theology, because those thing are important to life.
    Any thoughts on these conclusions?

It is very unfortunate that many Christians believe Mormonism is just another denomination of Christianity. If they realized how many core tenants of Christianity are denied by Mormonism, they would be trying harder (in a loving way of course) to plant the seed that, God willing, draws those people away from an eternity of unspeakable horror.
