Raya, my husband was 15 yrs older than me. We had 39 wonderful yrs before my husband passed away (he was 75 & i was 60). He was completely the love of my life. He was active & vibrant in "every" way his entire life with me. There was never a time that i felt like i made a mistake. I would say neither of you worry about your relationship changing as Louis ages. You both will begin to age together. My husband never "outgrew" his desire for our time together be sweet, romantic, exciting, & share in everything. Love each other as today is the last day to express/show your love for each other. Best wishes to you all. I love the "Raya and Louis" channel.

That’s beautiful to read. My partner and I are 12 years apart. He is one of the best things to happen to me ❤we’ve been talking about getting married. He definitely the worrier in the relationship, but I’m just hoping for many, many years I can (hopefully) have with him. He is very youthful in his heart 😄

My husband (deceased now) of 43 yrs was 10 yrs older. We both loved it! I graduated from high school in 1971 & thought boys my age we self-centered & fairly thoughtless (sorry for the generality). My husband was self-assured & stable and knew how to treat a 'lady'. It was a wonderful life.
Btw he was very active with our kids! He was 42 when our 1st (a son) was born.

I have friends , who's kids are now in their late teens who were schooled in steiner, montessori, home schooling and un schooling. One, some or all of these,. Some chose later on deciding to go to mainstream secondary school and some , particularly after covid decided their time in mainstream was a toxic waste of their time and home schooled making more time for their interests of art, sport or animal of which they thrived.I have to say these kids are the most incredible connected, determined focused , balanced humans I have ever met.Deeply connected to nature, no interest in social media or gaming and....the maturity kind of blows my mind, and really gives me hope for the world.
So I'm glad you are open to embrace this way of education
    Education through play is profound.

You two are so adorable! I've enjoyed watching from Minnesota. I'll be 71 this January. Having my children was the most fun fulfilling thing that ever happened to me and it was enough. Thrift shopping was a favorite past time of mine. To find quality for a bargain was a blast. I just love how you two think ❤.

I also really want 3 kids after having 1! Honestly, finances are what mentally hold me back from potentially having 3 kids. I definitely want to be able to help my kids if they want to go to college, etc later in life and providing for 3 kids seems kind of daunting but we’ll see! It also took me 2 years to get pregnant with our first baby so who knows what trying for more babies will look like. I am just so grateful to have one ❤.
Also, as a fellow new mom I completely relate to Raya talking about her identity. I’m also nursing and the selflessness you need for that is incredible. I’m so thankful I’ve been able to nurse, but I also look forward to having a bit more independence as she gets older and having more time for my own hobbies. And to Louis, I truly appreciate your comments about it being enough to be a mother ❤

I love your vlogs, especially vlogmas it’s such a treat! I’m in the US but preschool/kindergarten I went to Montessori school. I’m sure maybe you’ve heard of it but it’s more based on the child’s natural interests and playing.
For me I remember playing inside and outside at times, and I know you guys mentioned at one point you had talked about wanting Neo to be outside and such. I really enjoyed it and then my parents put me in the public school system which was such a drastic difference, but I love the ideas of the montessori concepts!

I think you guys balance each other beautifully! And I love how Raya realizes this. As she says, she is always seeking balance, and what a specacular thing to seek! Louis is more laid back, whereas Raya stresses more, and yet, those two personality traits or learned behaviors blend well together. When you concentrate on the strength of being laid back and the strength of worrying, you become one united strong force. There is so much you guys can learn from each other and you seem to be doing it. Now that's a beautiful couple!

I so relate to the mom guilt. I work 40 hours a week and for an American I get more paid time off than usual which we plan to travel together more next year (my 2nd was just born in March) and for now my income provides us a level of comfort that I am not sure we could get anywhere else. With this I just make sure I truly take the time even if it is 30mins to sit on the floor and play with my girls. On the weekends we get outside more and I take advantage of family nights at museums to take the time even during the week to do something special. How ever you are “mommying” these days it’s hard but so worth it!

I have never felt more healthy and alive and balanced in the world. thank you for sharing xxxx

I love the way ya’ll are thinking of schooling. I did the same with my two! I home schooled with a Montessori approach when very young then transitioned them into teaching them toward their interest and learning styles. For example, my son is very analytical and has always loved buttons/electronics so we focused all his subjects around that type of study. Whereas my daughter was very how things work (i.e. this causes that) so we focused on more on nature and we studied each subject with that slant. There are so many options now you are right to do lots of research and take your time…I have no doubt the two of you will make figure out what will work best for your little man!!! Vlogmas just like all your videos is so much fun…thanks for doing it…but, don’t put too much pressure on yourself!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

I can attest that being a RUclips content creator IS A real job. My daughter and her husband have a channel Journeymore, and they work way more than 80 hours per week shooting, editing, and working with clients. So, I understand how difficult it must be to keep your channels (Since you have multiples) populated with videos and photos. Please keep doing what you can, but for those of us who have watched you for years....give your time to Neo. He will grow up so fast. We will watch as you post, but give yourself permission to take a day with just him.....oh and of course....take a nap versus editing. We love you and will wait for you to post!! Have a Merry Christmas.

I notice you keep wearing your Live the Adventure hoodie, and it looks like the bus thing is a success now -- but it was sooo long. How did you persist and not give up. And the Beyond Borders doc took soooo long, and it looked liked it would never happen. How did you persist and not give up. You have a great and persistant spirit!

Men always seem to worry less than the Mom. Same in our relationship and it was a source of stress for us at times. Sometimes we need to relax and sometimes we need to consider all options for safety. My husband is 11.5 yrs older than me. It was never an issue for the first 20 yrs or so. Now facing his retirement, there is a lot more to consider with health issues and ensuring our retirement savings will last through my life span being longer than his. Best part of our age difference was having a couple yrs of senior discount and kids discount simultaneously! Having kids seemed to level the field energy wise. lol. Keep up the great work.

I have 6 kids. I chose to take 4 of them all at once. You would be surprised what you can do when you love, and having a big family is great fun! Oh, and you always have a team to call when you need help.

Ooh I'm exited about the schooling documentary! I live in Finland and my oldest two (4 and 6) go to nursery here but, it's very different to British nursery. They spend a lot more time outdoors in the woods (even in the deep snow.) Kids don't start school here until 7. However we will be moving home to Scotland (where I grew up) soon and I want to go down the alternate schooling/home educating.

I love that you talk about where you feel belong. I have lived all over the USA and never identify with the term "hometown". I don't have one. I have lived in so many places in the USA.

feminism, at least ideally, is really about the choice, if you wanna be a stay at home mom, that's great for you, if you wanna priortise career, good, it is about both choices being okay and none of the choices being the expectation

I read somewhere that drinking is the one drug society shames you for NOT doing. I always have to explain why I DON'T drink, and, sometimes before, I'd be at someone's home and they'd offer a drink. Many times it was an alcoholic beverage first THEN pop/water/juice/tea/coffee.

For a future Q&A....How are you thinking about filming (for You Tube) Neo, and other potential children, as they get older? Honestly, on one hand it is wonderful for us, as viewers to see sweet babies . Yet, there certainly are privacy issues for the kids, especially as they age. This is an issue for all influencers, not just you.

I'm just going to put this out there....there is NO such thing as being "just a mom". Being a mom is the most important thing a woman who has chosen to have children can do. I personally don't have children, but fully understand the importance of a child being raised by parents who are present. My mom had no choice but to work as she was a single mom with 3 kids, but she was very present. Being able to stay at home to raise your child should never be shamed. You are raising a tiny human and want to be involved in every step of the process to ensure that you put a well-adjusted, compassionate, empathetic and educated person out into the world eventually. This should be commended. Having interests outside of parenting takes time and balance. It is important to find your new identity. My mom had her work and hobbies that she developed with time. Mostly gardening, reading and needlepoint. Not all heroes wear capes, but they do raise good children.

Would love to hear more about your plant journey love ❤. Birth control always affected my mood wayyy too much when I was 14 trying to take it. I stopped immediately and I'm glad I did after just learning that it can cause strokes. (They run in my family as well😢). Love the channel & both your honesty. Seem like great people 😊. I just gave birth to my first son this November and love hearing about your journey with your little one as well 💙
