We went to Puerto Pollensa a few years ago. Loved that too, but still...... it’s Cala Bona that has always lured us back and given us the happiest memories. So much so, that we scattered my late fathers ashes there. It was his favourite destination. And quite coincidentally..... his final one, just a few months before he passed.
Me and my family absolutely love Cala Bona. We literally go every single year. But then have a holiday a few weeks later but somewhere else. Just for a little bit of variety. Rhodes. Turkey. Ibiza. Cyprus. Benidorm. Benalmadena. Orlando Florida. Portugal. Just to name a few of the places that we go to. But as with lots of people....... Cala Bona holds a very special place in our hearts.
Bar Jemica at the back of the Rope & Anchor, in between the Cala Bona Hotel And Catalonia Del Rey is a great little bar. It’s got a pitch and putt golf course with some very challenging holes. Pool tables. Decently priced drinks. And TVs for showing football matches on. There’s a passageway just past the Cala Bona, but before you get to the Catalonia. It used to be owned by a father and son. Two lovely guys, who moved away when the father decided he was going to retire. The current owners seem pretty decent folks too. They also do food on a BBQ as well, which although i personally haven’t had..... it looked nice.
Stayed in Cala Bona twice in 2022 Kev. Really liked the place. Some lovely restaurants near the harbour and some great bars along the sea front. But my favourite spot was Café Sureda. Great food and drink 😊
Bar Argos is a fantastic bar, spent a few afternoons sitting watching the sea with a great pint in hand Sue and Mike are great hosts I would recommend Bar Argos for afternoon drinks
My parents are staying in Cala bona next month on my recommendation, it’s a resort I couldn’t fault. It’s not stupidly busy all year, which is a bonus. I’ve only ever stayed at the protur bonama and that is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Just got back from a week in calas de mallorca it has nothing on Cala bona
Mr Jock - bumping into a mate on Gateshead high street that actually had a job shocked me , He had to leave the pub quickly because he had Hai Karate after shave on .
The La Luna is really an overspill hotel for the Levante and Levante Park hotels. Therefore if you book it, it's only the room you get, as all the amenities are in the other hotels, that's why it's cheaper. We prefer the Illusion Moreyo next door, or if you fancy a more budget hotel, try the Sur or 5 minutes out of the harbour there's the Sol y Mar, which is really pleasant. Hope this helps.👍 👍
I have stayed in La Luna and yes its an overspill from the Levante and Levante Park, nice enough rooms we were lucky enough to get one overlooking the sea. Meals are served over at the Levante Park
Why do you not show all the beautiful Spanish restaurants and bars in Cala Bona. There is so much more than British bars that you can go to at home with British food.
What happened at the end? You were just looking at my favourite hotel, the Moreyo and it shut down! The Argos is great and run by Scousers who can't do enough for you. The exchange place you passed by Smithy's is great, she always gives you the best rates. Recommended. Janet and John's do a Birmingham Balti and is awesome. Loving the content.👍 👍
Looks like a nice place thanks for the look around Kevin I always like the people who recognise you and make a b-line for you to chat oh ! To be famous 😅
Kevin, this is our most favourite place, Thalassa is the most stunning place to sit and watch the fishing boats coming in at night, try and walk up to the Castle for a pint x

It takes a while for them to update hotels on each of the islands. Obviously money is an issue. But please don’t be one of those people who has to constantly find faults with everything. Just enjoy the weather and scenery and the rest and relaxation of being on a holiday in the sun. Don’t be like most Brits who constantly harness the power of British moaning. Or one of those people who constantly go on Tripe Advisor...... and before you ask...... yes I meant Trip Advisor, which I always call Tripe Advisor on account of the number of moaning bastards who constantly berate their holiday experiences in the various parts of Spain. Coming up with such gems as complaining about the wood chip wallpaper. The sun being too hot. Everyone in Spain, speaking Spanish and other numerous examples of utter shite excuses as to why they didn’t enjoy their holiday. If people feel like that..... they shouldn’t even bother with going abroad.
Honestly..... some of the stuff British people complain about in Spain is actually really laughable and extremely sad at the same time. That little gem about everyone speaking Spanish 😂 what do people expect...... it’s bloody Spain for gods sake. Of course they’re going to have people speaking Spanish. Not all of them can speak good English. In the touristy places there’s going to be a certain level of English and other languages that hotel staff will need to be able to speak. But only just enough for them to give a certain level of customer service. Not full blown fluent English or any of the other languages needed. Just enough to get by.
I love your channel. But, we stayed in the resort in 1991. It was just dreadful place. It ruined my honeymoon. I would never go to this resort again. Restaurant were poor & hotel was ok. But, it was Cala Bona. I would never go back
What the hell is wrong with you ? How can you not love Cala Bona ? I’ve spent 20 years and my parents 38 years going on holidays to Cala Bona and have never once had any problems with this resort. There’s many other families and couples who go back year after year and absolutely love the place. You must’ve just picked a crap hotel. By the way..... which hotel was it ? I’ve stayed in the Protur Alicia. Protur Bonaire. (TUI Blue) Levante. The Cala Bona Hotel. The Catalonia Del Mar, back when it was the Catalonia Consul and also at the Globales. Never had any problems with any of the hotels. So you must just be one of those kind of people who goes on holidays just to find faults. If you’re British just like myself, I know that many of us Brits can have a really bad habit of just finding stuff to moan about. Especially some really weird things that some Brits moan about. Things like...... ooh it’s too hot...... what do you expect..... it’s Spain and it’s well renowned for being hot. Or...... Ooh everyone seems to be speaking Spanish in the hotel and surrounding areas..... Again, newsflash..... you’re in Spain. What do you bloody expect. People who constantly try to find faults should just stay at home in their own country where they know their own weather. Early 90s the resort was still in development. There’s hotels that have closed down since then. Cala Bona now compared to Cala Bona in the 90s is not the same. It’s better.
@@ScottyBugler2005 It's absolutely fine for that person to have their opinion just as you're expressing yours, there doesn't have to be anything wrong with them. This year I visited Cala Bona and didn't like it at all. I've enjoyed many visits to Majorca over the years but this resort just wasn't for me though our hotel was lovely. The island just isn't looked after very well by the authorities anymore, maybe it's financial, I'm not sure. I returned to the Costa Del Sol too after a few years and found most of that a bit of a shit hole. I won't be rushing back to Spain other than Seville for city breaks as it's my favourite Spanish city. Each to their own is a good saying, we don't all like the same and that's a good thing.
Thanks for Watching !
