Earlier on my father & always got there early on those Sunday's to Nazareth to get up in the covered Grandstands, dad always wood get his large cheese. Steak as soon arrived
He loved that, we were sad the farm market &covered stands burned down, I remembered before the concrete retaining walls ,the old raggedy wood fences around the speedway, great times we went there till the end& the great finishes !
They should bring the half mile back where the 1 mile track is now I spent a lot of time at the half mile loved it there probably would be a better place with more crowds of ppl I go to Grandview and big D all the time and is always a ful house
Sad what has happened to the old tracks.Flemington track saturday in sec 7-8 every Saturday in the mid 70's problem was too young to appreciate what once was.
FYI: for those who don't know: there were both a 1/2 and a 1-1/8 mile tracks. They cut off the 1/8 and made it a mile track that still sits there. The 1/2 mile was turned into a shopping mall. or parking lot.
Spent almost every Sunday night there in the early 80's. Always will remember Tom Hager, Buzzie Reutimann, Frankie Schneider, Tighe Scott, Frank Cozze, Richie Smith, Randy Bok, Billy Tanzosh, Carl Collis, Bobby Malzahn, Doug Hoffman, Kenny Wismer, etc, etc. So sad to see this track gone forever, but the memories last forever.
Turned it into a strip mall. Me Billy Grube and Scott Vigilotti use to go every wknd, those were good times early and mid 80's. Doug Hoffman and Brett Hearn.
it really sucks that had to go I never even been there I was born in 1998 15 years old now and I can't experience a local race track that was big back then why does everything that is awesome have to go.
You should have been around when Dorney Park had a race track every Saturday night from 1971 until they closed it in 86 then the last five years I had the opportunity to tow the cars off the track
