Hopefully this video could help someone who wants to check originality of their Tissot PRC200.
Had mine now for about 8 years, and it's still holding its value in the shops. It's a very nice watch to wear. Although I've the past couple of years it's been sat in it's box; I think it's time this one started being worn as my daily as I have just bought myself my first automatic watch which will be worn on special occasions.
Great value watch, had mine over ten years and still running great even after running over it with a 12 ton flt (Accidentally)

In short, it's a legend one from Tissot :
1. The accuracy of of this watch is on par or better compared to other luxurious watches (Battery powered watches). The deviation is only a couple of seconds in a year!
2. The superb build quality (details). Some 'big' collectors (who have collected 'money is not an issue' watches) would say that it's one of the best on the market for
Hello, it'd be great if someone replies. I just bought this watch from Amazon. The date indicator is white in the watch I bought from Amazon. But in some pictures/tissot official page I saw that the date indicator is black.
Does that mean white date indicator in PRC 200 mean it's fake?
Niaz Mehedi year dependant mine has the white date window bought from a reputable dealer (new) in Sheffield some years ago
Keep in mind Tissot changed a few things on the PRC 200. The PRC200 logo on dial, the clasp is now pressed instead of milled, the angle of the 15 and 45 on the small seconds dial has changed and the movement is also different. These are the ones I could easily tell from looking at both my PRC's, a blue one bought in 2009 and a black one in 2019. Curious to see what they'll do by 2029.
So 5 minutes into this thing and we are still on the packaging?? You got the watch out, set it aside, and went back to the box. Amazing......

Glad I could help. Agreed, this watch is very nice compared to my other watches. I use it for special occasions only because it looks perfect if there are no scratches on it..
Btw, if you find any scratches later on, look for the 'pioneer shino cloth' on ebay. It works great!
Its shiny bezel, case and bracelet will make people think it's an expensive watch.. :D
And yes, it's better for paying the full price from an AD rather than end up regretting the purchase later.

Really helpful video which I will be using shortly on my new (hopefully genuine), nearly identical PRC 200, although I went for the leather band.

Sweet watch. Best thing to do is go to a jewelry watch store that sells tissots. Time and gold is where I got my tissot ballade iii watch , actually it was a gift from my boss for working 10 years for the company. If one is not sure if a tissot isn't real do some research and find out what a tissot looks like and its proper ferias number should be on the watch which u can compare to one the tissot web site

In 2013, the watch was being praised as the most accurate quartz watch (12 sec / year) under usd 1,000.

I have a black faced PRC200 that I bought in 2007 and I have a white faced PRC200 that I bought in 2014. They are exactly the same and are exactly comparable to the one in this video. If any of you have proof that this watch is a fake put up or shut up.
If this is supposed to be the following model: Tissot PRC 200 Quartz horloge T055.417.11.057.00. Then this is a fake watch. Just check the official Tissot website. Dial plate looks different. 200mtr/660ft does not appear on the Original watch. That and some other differences, like the numbers and the dials.

It’s not Rolex, just a Tissot. You can get it whenever you need it.
why didn't you cut out the part where you're trying to figure out which way to slide the manual back into the box?

Clearly this watch had been unboxed some time earlier, given the dust and dirt on the strap and case.
Apart from that, why would this possibly require 10 minutes? If the first half with the box and booklets was cut that wouldn't go far enough!
+Peter Kelly This is supposed to be an instruction to check if the watch is fake. Most of the time fakers save on packaging, thats why theres so much about the box and the booklets
6:15 some people insist the original T461 PRC 200 T17.1.526.52 must have 'water resistant 20 bar (200m/660ft)' engraving on a back cover. Instead of shown at 6:15 'waterresistant 200m' one. Does it make sense, or depends on the year of production?

I have same watch for last 8 years. For last five years it has developed a problem. It works if it is static in vertical position. But if I wear it it stops working. Changing batteries don't work. Batteries don't long much. Maximum couple of weeks.
Don't have Tissot service facility in my country. I like the watch. But don't know how to fix the problem. Can any body suggest the problem and solution.
The strap on my prc200 has an extra clip which says PRC200 on it and also the writing on the back of mines isnt engraved its printed. Idk if its fake or real pls help.
Every time someone does a watch video, especially certain models all the expects come out to say its fake. But what they don't know is a few have posted a vid from using a watch straight from a Tissot dealer yet all these experts are like, "Oh I could spot that fake a mile away" and other dumb uninformed comments. If you say it's fake then why, be specific or else your just wanting to act like you know something you don't.
I think in original watches the back of the watch is tightly fixed
The watch makers made the BIG DEAL on the BOXES?? WHY? matter to me is the watch, not the box!! fancy box is only for kids like to open the gifts on "Chirstmas days" ..That is my feeling..many arguments? maybe? some hate me? agree?? or because I lived in different country not like the WESTERN!! It was also exhibited at the window of a local authorized dealer here in Germany. So 2 days ago I went out & got it; it's absolutely beautiful. It retails for anywhere between 300 & 345€. I paid the higher price. I e-mailed Ellert in Vienna & they quoted me 300€ for this watch. BTW, did you make this video? It's great :-)

If we buy an Tissot for US$ 150.00 + US$ 35.00 shipping cost the total: US$ 185.00 + 60% = US$ 111.00. So total price is US$ 296.00. How can they sell for US$ 180.00? Unbelieveble.

Ah! Good to know that, thanks for that suggestion about the pioneer shino cloth. Yes, you're right; when the metal is polished up, it shines marvelously under the light. BTW, how do you wear yours? Do you have the bracelet tight around your wrist, or is it looser so it slides up & down a bit? Right now I have it loose, but I'm thinking of having 1 link removed so it's snug. I haven't worn a watch in over 16 years :-D))) Cheers.

I removed 2 links in order to make the watch fit correctly. You may go to a jeweler and pay for their service for about USD 20 (EUR 15) or by DIY : a. Look for a paper clip, it's not an easy job but it's free.. b. Look for proper tools in ebay. You'll get a set of tools for under USD 10. The tools can be used later on if you want to change the bracelet or changing the battery.

all got to do to check if its real is take off case and check its got a G10.211 movement, no point going by packaging cos most original packaging is made in china, i expect most of the watch was too and thats why fakes are so good now
1977JohnBoy - I purchase a very high end Tissot just recently at reputable jewelry store.... I got worried about fakes or counterfeit Tissot, when I found out that my watch was a return merchandise from a previous transaction. I immediately contacted the store manager within 24 hrs of purchase. The manager understood my concern and I posed the possibility that the original buyer might had returned a fake or counterfeit Tissot back to his store without him knowing it was a switch.
He ( Mgr ) gave me Tissot toll free number for stateside customers service/sales in Untied States. I call the next day and spoke to a nice gentleman, who ask me certain questions about the watch that I had purchased. Well, in short my watch was genuine or as we say in the midwest “ The Real McCoy ! “ To be honest, I paid a lot for this watch and I come to find out that I had 30 days return it. No questions asked by this reputable Jewlery store. If you ever want to know, if a watch is fake or not just google the company name for a number stateside for their customer service. Not where they are located because you will get Tissot home office numbers that’s in Switzerland or the UK. Tissot will tell you straight out, if you got a real one or not because they don’t service fakes or counterfeit.
They also take legal action against anyone store or individuals (Police involvement) if they realize you got a fake Tissot at one of the official authorizes dealers Also they go after people on eBay too. Hope this helps some one who needs help.

you should do some research, tissot are one of the most accurate automatics out there...
Just open the caseback its the easiest way to spot a fake.
Even in a fake you will see G10.211 movement in some cases
I think in case of Tissot the better way is to buy a fake - it will be same quality as orig but cheaper. Same quality because even real Tissot have sometimes problems with movements and water resistance, so why to pay more?
I preffer Certina - same price range as Tissot but much more quality

I bought this fucking TISSOT PRC 200 automatic from main distributor ...after 4 year stoped work !!! My friend also bought tissot with mechanism PRC 200 ... after 3 years stop work.
We both noted that problem started more less 2 years after bought and look like autimatic wind watch start to be less effective. And at the end his shitting "SWISS but quality from CHINA" watch stoped completly wind up automatic. When I send with my firend our watches to central tissot I get info thet they give us for free new mechanism inside but exchange cost 300 $ ... for sure for me NEVER TISSOT again :( .... This Was first and Last TISSOT around me and my friends. So next time I will buy china fake.
