Hydra: The Revenge Roller Coaster at Dorney Park

In 2003 Dorney Park announced the closing of their Hercules wooden coaster. We were given teasers as to what was to come. The park came up with an elaborate story behind the removal of the Hercules coaster and the arrival of its replacement, Hydra: The Revenge. The story has Hydra rising and extracting its revenge on Hercules.

Looks like a great rollercoaster. Very special in it's kind. Cause the inversions are totally different than a normal B&M coaster. Especially the start when you go in slow motion through the first inversion.

Best Floorless I've been on is Kraken at SWO. But I'll tell you now, that corkscrew right out of the station looks pretty wicked and so does that cobra roll :)

Ya its a totally different ride in the front, it's fun to have your feet flying, it feels like they're gonna hit the track!

Yeah, it is. That's kind of the point. You go from a complete stop in the loading station and are released right into that roll before you even get to the lift hill.

It actually has 6 Heartline roll, zero G roll, crockscrew, cobra roll which counts as 2 inversions, and the crockscrew in the back

Forget what I said about the cobra roll. That dive loop looks like it's from RCT3.

It gives a smoother, more fluid inversion, in my opinion. It doesn't have the 'snap' that the older cobra roll design does. Depending on your POV, that's either a good thing or a bad one.
