    This sounds interesting and a good dish for me to try, since i grew up eating those dough balls, except we had them plain and with a sweet but gingery sort of soup/sauce. It would be fun to see how lotus paste and egg pudding goes with them!

      Yes, it's called tangyuan, a simple dessert in Chinese, and it tastes soft like dango. The two have similar ingredients

      @@ChefMar I can't believe this. First of all, your ingredients are hard to come by and then even a few berries cost 5 USD upwards and we're not even talking about high quality ones. Heck, try to find good quality fruits in Europe! They seriously try selling you rotten apples all the time and the better ones would still be juice apples according to Japanese standards... Similarly, getting quality cinnamon rolls, Safran, etc. is not easy...

    I wonder if mochiko will work? I'm just starting to cook with rice flour and I have no idea if I'm supposed to find regular rice flour or if sweet rice flour like mochiko is okay.
