    Hi guys, welcome to a film by antiquesarena. In this film you get to see some wonderful stock I bought yesterday, I went out around south wales on business and called in some charity shops on my way home, I like to buy from charity shops, the main reason is i feel i am making a difference helping the charity to make money so support their good cause, i also make a good profit off the antiques and collectables i manage to find, in this case i went out to make the day pay while on other business, I bought some amazing things from Delphis poole pottery , chribska glass, antiques etched lady Hamilton pall mall glass, silver jewellery and so much more, you really need to watch the film to see what I bought, I hope you enjoy guys.
    My business is small and simple, I buy from charity shops, car boot sales thrift stores etc to sell in my shop and on eBay, amazon, facebook and other platforms, and make films that I hope you enjoy , please feel free to comment and give your opinion and experiences. its a little look at buying and selling what to buy and sell . My name is Antiquesarena and i have a pawn / antique shop but have sold for many years at car boot sales, antique fairs, auction houses, i buy and sell antiques and collectables and show you my finds every week, in this chat i talk about the different ways to sell to maximise your profit. do you hold out for the most money you can get from your antiques and collectables or do you take less money and deal in volume. Should you Specialise or be a general dealer. here are my top tips to help you understand how much to sell for to have the best results and most profit. This advice will work no matter if you sell on ebay, Amazon, Etsy, facebook or any other platform, hope this advice is both useful and helps you make loads of money. if you would like to see more films on my antique finds, advice on how to sell or buy and book reviews please visit my channel for hundreds of films.

    Check the top edge of the vase in the photo of the blue green and clear vase at 23:30 as you either have a chip or cracked area ready to let go of a chip or just a reflection that looks like a chip or cracked area ready to let go of a chip.

      Vicki Olson hi vicki. Thank you for your comment. The vase is ok love. Think it was the flash. I just checked. But thank you for that as wouldn’t want to seek it as perfect it it wasn’t.

    Thanks for another interesting and informative video. I love the modern glass but I think I’d find it hard to part with. Did you notice the tune on the cigarette dispenser is ‘Smoke Gets In Your Eyes’ - really made me smile! 😅

    Thanks for the detailed video Walter, more like tutorials - very useful, particularly as I love 30s to 60s glass and in particular Stolzle glass, I've never understood why it doesn't fetch more money, the designs are so beautiful - I just don't think its time has come yet but it's no hardship picking this stuff up, displaying it and enjoying it until, inevitably, it gets wider attention and the price shoots up. I really like the new format too. That cigarette dispenser is so cute - would look great in a library or study. Thanks for the heads up on Holmegaard, I shall certainly keep an eye out for that.

      Hi Anne, Thank you very much for your comments, appreciate you taking time to give your opinion on the new format. I have no doubt that Stolzle glass will find its market one day, it wasnt that long ago i was buying whitefriars for a pound or two so hoard while you can. the dispenser is fab in it lol

    Hi Walter. Trying to play catch up with your vlogs while sort through all these clothes I am selling. Well, your vlog won. Love the new format. Very informative. Immediate satisfaction getting the history, close up look, where to look for info, as well as current listing prices. You do have the eye!!! I love your willingness to share. Thank you so very much. Will be sending something your way, as soon as I figure out how:) Thank you so much. I am going to focus less on clothing and more on antique hard goods. You have found some amazing pieces at your local charity shop. Maybe worth my paying up to get a good return. Still learning though, but will definitely let you know if I come across anything I see on your volgs. Take care....Mitzi

    Oh gosh...lol !! I never should have watched this video. I don't collect much, but I do collect solid colored cased glass. The blue vase in the photo at 14:49 appears to be cased. I have the same vase only in bright yellow. The reason I should not have watched this is that I now know what I borke….lol ….yes, I got this at the good will for $2.99 and broke it taking it out of the bag at home. I took off part of the top rim of the vase. I have kept the pieces to glue them back and now I think I may have it professionally done, depending on cost, of course. I can always display it with the break to the back and no one will know the difference. ……… darn...lol !!!! 6 years ago I had a break in and two thirds of my collection was stolen, including the exact same white vase beneath the blue one in the photo was stolen. What a bummer !! I know who did it, but could not prove it.

    • @AntiquesArena
      @AntiquesArena  6 лет назад

      Vicki Olson the holmegaard comes solid colour and cased I would still display it. If you have it polished make sure they don’t distort the shape or balance. I have had similar things stolen hun. Unfortunately it’s something we are vulnerable too x

    Great video & information Walter, I like the new format. Because you sell glassware & breakables on eBay, what courier do you use because most don't cover damage. Also what is your preferred method of packaging. TIA

    • @AntiquesArena
      @AntiquesArena  6 лет назад +1

      Bob Dixon hi bob. Thank you for your comment and opinion. Appreciate it. I use Royal Mail. It’s expensive but I don’t have breakage or losses. No one will cover your items for damage. If one get damaged write it off and move on to the next item but I wrap with bubble wrap and thick cardboard boxes with loads of space between the item and box wall.

  • @lornaf3655
    @lornaf3655 6 лет назад +1

    Hi Walter, could you just turn that broken piece on the cigarette box upside down? Then it would still be all original, but less noticeable. I think I like the research as you go format vs at the end.

    • @AntiquesArena
      @AntiquesArena  6 лет назад

      Lorna F hi Lorna. Thank you very much for your comment and taking time to let me know what you thought of the new format. Think I will just add soft music on pics instead of silence and I will look tomorrow to see if I can flip it. I didn’t think of that so thank you.

      Hi Andrew, Thanks for your comment mate, i know what you mean, the buyer can cancel a sale and not care so if we have a problem they shouldnt kick off but they do, one of the joys of ebay mate.
