I Took a Huge Gamble on a Tea Pot and The Antique Silver Plate Was the Profit

Wow so what happens when you see signs and signals on a tea pot that indicate that it could be both plated and sterling at the same time? You get 800 or so purity silver, which does make sense. Normally when I talk about "German silver" I almost always mean a base metal alloy of copper and nickel and other metals that manufacturers used as a cheaper substitute for the real stuff, but not today!
The real tea pot is incredible, but I think the Meriden B Company Aesthetic Era Tea Pot with the incredible etching of the bird scene stole the show anyway. Finding a Wallace Bros Tea Set in the "Art Nouveau" style was an incredible way to finish this awesome box.

Great watch! I agree that aesthetic period pieces are very undervalued right now. It's a shame! Fortunately the interest in antique silver plate is growing. As people are starting to appreciate and recognize the craftsmanship that goes into making it. There are some extraordinary and rare pieces out there that are being overlooked, right now, which is a plus for people like you and I😉😁
