Thank you for sharing your adventure. My Grandfather, Uncle, and I used to explore all of those forest roads around the Conjeos River and then on up into the Continental Divide. We affectionately referred to that beautiful country as “God’s County,” simply because you are on top of the world. I’m sadly the last one left, as my Grandfather passed on this past June, and my Uncle several years back. They both loved the San Juan Mountains. Be Blessed in your future adventures !!!
I see it is free but I don’t see it listed on your map under the dispersed section. Several of your videos are like this. You might consider putting gps coordinates in the description of every video. If you did this they would be perfect. That seems to be the only thing you are missing. I see that you did in some of them but don’t see it on this one. Anyway… love the videos. Great channel.
GPS Coordinates for this one: 37.3778907, -106.5735301 There are a number of the free campgrounds mixed in with the regular ones on our map. I guess my thinking was that if it had an outhouse and a sign, then it wasn't dispersed.
There was a bunch of what looked like beetle kill when we went by the entrance. I figured it would be closed another year at least. 3 - 5 is a long time. Thanks for the info!

How far down to the river from sites 4 and 5?
Depends on if you have a rope. lol. It looked steep but probably is accessible from the sites.

@@CampgroundRecon thanks. Much appreciated
According to USFS + Rio Grande NF Mix Lake campground will be closed 3 - 5 years due to tree die off and removing the dead trees.
