    Sometimes, I go to youtube just to watch people being happy about coming out. In the place I live, people hate homosexuality, using some most atrocious "arguments" against homosexuality. I am in fact one of those 20-30% people, who are not against homosexuality, and one of 1-2% people, who are not against homosexual people wedding or adoption. So I'm glad to see that there are gay-friendly environments. In my country, people actually end up attempting or succeeding suicide just because of their sexual orientation, which makes me mad and scared.
    I'm glad that not everybody lives on ignorant crappy hell land that I do.

    I never made a blanket statement and said it was a non-issue. I clearly state "I don't know how the people in your life think, but coming out doesn't NECESSARILY have to be a big deal." I never stated that coming out is a non issue for everyone, just that at times, it can be

    Bravo for coming out. Brave, smart, and cute. Welcome to the world where there are LOTS just like you. I My self have housed many teens who received the worse side of coming out. That being the parents tossed them out on to the street. I clothed, fed, housed, educated them all for free and no strings attached. Now that I am getting too old to do that I hope there are others out there who will do that. Best wishes to you. And dont let the haters get you down. They will blast you, hate you, etc. But there are Many many more out there just like you. Be well and be healthy.

    I am a gay identical twin who has a gay identical twin. We joined the Air Force together and after a couple years, we were discharged with about 40 other guys and girls for "homosexual activity" which the military described as going to a gay bar and associating with other "known" gay people. We were then forced to come out to our parents. They took it hard, but after a couple months we all actually grew a lot closer. My Father died a few years later and I learned more about him in those last few years than I had my whole life. He accepted our boyfriends like they were his kids as well. It was very emotional in the beginning and the time it took our parents to come to terms with it was rough. For my Father, my brother and I were the last men in our family to carry on the family name. By being gay and not having children, our family line ends with us. That seemed to be what upset my Father the most. I applaud you guys for doing this online and sharing with others. RUclips wasn't around when we came out but watching your video now brings me right back to that day and I was crying with you. It is hard hearing your parents tell gay jokes and say demeaning things toward gays and then have to turn around and tell them you are what they have spewed jokes and prejudice over for so many years. They are more worried about what the neighbors will think or how they could hide it from their friends and other family members. That all worked itself out with time and I believe both of our parents died being proud of who we were as people and not about our sexuality. btw, I wish I was as cute as you. I can't imagine anyone not liking you or wanting to be friends. .

    I knew I liked boys in a different way other boys liked boys when I was 6 years old, I didn't find out what gay meant till I was 8, when I read what it meant I said to myself that's me. I had to come out to my mom when I was 12 because she found me in bed with my first boyfriend...Naked both of us, talk about scared to death she cried and told me it will be alright, then she told my dad, talk about going ape shit he screamed he pointed his finger at me and said "You Are Not Gay" but I was gay, my dad said to me I never had anyone disappoint me like you have disappointed me, now you have to understand my dad was my hero I wanted to be just like him, when he told me I was his biggest disappointment I went to my room and cried for hours. Later that night my dad came in my room and told me he loved me, but he didn't understand why I was gay, I told him I didn't understand why I was gay. Me and my dad came to a livable agreement with one another remember I was only 12 he even let Denny my boyfriend come over now and then. I do think you are lucky Pano your parents was cool with your coming out, I feel lucky to, I knew my parents loved me, and as for me and my dad, it took some time and we became friends again.

    I'm glad you made this even though you didn't want to make some emotionally supportive video. My coming out was a lot like yours, just younger. No one cared -- no one had a problem with it, I was never bullied... whatevs. Your video is good though cause it shows that it doesn't HAVE to be some huge emotional hurricane that reconfigures your life forever. There aren't enough people out there who will say "yeah, I came out and nothing really changed."

Clearly sound values, discipline, & consistency from them has made you who you are today more or less (all A's or nothing) I can only hope you carry on with making yourself the best you can be and having a positive impact on those around you. Two of my closest friends recently came out to me and a small group of other friends at a party. We'd always assumed that guy was gay, just by the way he speaks, acts etc.. I love him either way.
    But the girl, nobody really expected her to be homosexual, obviously it wasn't a problem with us, but she'd attempted to come out before by telling everyone she liked my best friend. She got bullied, kicked, punched and more by other students. And even accused of sexual harassment by some of the popular girls who didn't want to change by her in PE.
    They're both terrified to come out to their mum's as they don't agree with being homosexual and the fear that they might be kicked out from their home. They would go and live with their Dad's if so, but clearly they don't want to be kicked out.
    I feel so sorry for them both as they're wonderful people who are scared to be themselves and just scream from the rooftops that they're gay in case they get picked on and kicked out of their homes.
    I wish people were more accepting, considering it's 2013 now, I mean Jesus Christ, not everyone is going to be straight.
    I have at least 20 friends with different sexualites, and I don't look at them any different to my straight friends.

    • @EZE247365
      @EZE247365 10 лет назад +7

      br ha It's is clear when you asked "Different sexualities...what are you talking about?" you don't know anything about human sexuality.Being gay is not a choice and just because it's not not normal doesn't automatically mean that it's "wrong",just different.Your deity and religion isn't the law of the land or anything that is scientifically based upon,it's just a belief,So your "God" doesn't apply to everyone."...to tell their friends the truth" Secondly truth is whatever you see to be true,so it's biased,not factual.Also are you trying to justify her being bullied because of her sexuality?

    • @Gorgonzolarufus
      @Gorgonzolarufus 10 лет назад +2

      br ha Yoooou´re so fucked up. People have to "come out" because of people like YOU. People who are intolerant, people who are assholes, people who don´t care for others and their human rights (yes HUMAN RIGHTS), people who are homophobic assholes. There is NOTHING wrong about being gay/bisexual/pansexual/demisexual/...

My mother has come around more or less though she still has bad days. They told me I broke their heart when I first came out. I think it's good for people to see positive stories but I think it can sometimes make the person coming out naive to their own situation which can make the process worse.

    @cataclismicberry1 10 лет назад

    I'm glad you posted this Pano. I'm still pretty secretive about my sexual identity. Some of my close friends know that I'm bi, but it was never really a big issue to me. If I'm into someone then I just am. Plumbing was never a concern for me, and it's way more attractive if I have an emotional/intellectual attraction to someone. Of course, physical attraction is important as well, but it's not the primary characteristic I focus on. I'm a lot like you in that I tend to focus more on myself then on seeking out relationships. I had my first boyfriend when I was well into college, maybe my 3rd year? I have sought to find peace in myself and in the things that occupy my daily life, and I have been very successful. Yet, now I feel as if I'm missing something in my life.
    I work in a male-dominated field, and so I have an image I have to maintain.
    It's never really been an issue for me until now. If I lose that dominant image and people begin to view me as effeminate, I feel like I will be ostracized and that many people will not respect me, nor the position I have striven so hard to attain. I love my job, it's my passion in life. And yet, I feel as if my "other life" is being neglected, that I might have more luck in the dating world if I were more open about my sexual self. I've been so effective about shielding myself for so long, it's hard for me to even think about how I would go about opening myself up.
    I am a very private person, and I rarely if ever talk about my love life to anyone. I don't even know why I typed all of this, and no one is probably even going to read this, but it feels nice to write all of it out anyway. I watched your video on facebook poking and I guess you galvanized me to release some thoughts that have been floating around in my mind for some time. I think you're pretty cute too so that might have something to do with it. ;)
    Any thoughts or advice you have would be much appreciated. You seem like a really sweet guy and I'd like to have you opinion.

    Pano, I'm so glad you had such a positive experience with coming out! Granted, like "flarles" above, I agree with him when he says how much you perceive coming out as being a non-issue. It's not a non-issue for lots of young, scared people unsure what their next step is. I guess I'm considered "old" by your standards (47) but I came out to my whole family at 17 to ridicule and intolerance, which in the end made me a lot stronger. I sincerely wish everyone could have your good fortune.

    Wow-you handled that very well Pano-on your own terms in your own time. Want to email you my story-I had all these preconceived ideas that had good motives, but turned out to be a disaster. Just started reading your blogs and think you are one great guy. Adorable as well (wink-wink!) Happy holidays!

    You're coming out was a dream. Great best friend and great parents. Wish everyone could have this. I think it helps that you had confidence in yourself. People will follow anyone who shows confidence in the direction.

    You're the luckiest person. I've not issues for myself for a while now however when I told my parents it's been rough-ish. My extended family does NOT know mainly because I know it would make my parents uncomfortable. MY BROTHER DOES'T EVEN KNOW because of them. That's a great story from a world too distant to most. Thanks for sharing and please do more serious videos (regardless of the topic, clearly being gay is not all of you).

    Thanks for the video. That was a nice coming out of the closet story. Looking at the background of your video I can see you still have a lot of "Toys" and "Games" in your closet...

    It's not a big deal for you that didn't felt pain or something like that and didn't had someone to hate you. You can say nothing about coming out because you didn't gone through tough things and IS tough for most part of people.

    I am 19. I am from Mexico; and in the place where I live the homosexuality is so criticized; so, I feel so alone because I don't have any friend to tell that I'm gay. My parents and while family always show their hatred for homosexuals in the news or TV programmes and I don't want to be alone without my family.
    It's so hard and I don't know what to do now. But, I fell that it takes better and that one day, the young girls and boys will can be themselves, without fear or shame. Thanks.
