  • David's won a good chunk of change on the Joker Machine, but Eileen and John wish to win some money of their own. Who will win this Game of Definitions?
My apologies for the jumpy video starting at the halfway mark. The tape that this was recorded on was watched dozens and dozens of times when I was a kid, and naturally the quality has degraded on the tape. Hope it's not too much of an annoyance.
Taken from a USA Network rerun circa April 1993.

I must say this version of Joker is underrated. The previous way of doing the show wouldn't have cut it with the likes of J!, Challengers, Trump Card and Quiz Kids Challenge all on the air (and Tic Tac Dough '90 wasn't as exciting or suspenseful as the Wink/Jim version but the questions on both honestly were too easy at times).

This version was in the wake of Game shows of 1990 with the likes of Trump Card Challengers Quiz Kids Challenge were all over the place and Tic Tac Dough '90 bombed it never caught on after one season.but the Martindale/Caldwell years were the best.the questions sometimes easy but most of it is difficult if you picked the toughest catagories.

It seems like John got credited for three $35 questions at the start instead of two.

@"Secret Area Vault", yes, back on Monday, September 24, 1990, "The Joker's Wild" game show had Mr. Patrick "Pat" J. Finn as its former host just as his previous studio announcer there was Mr. Edward "Ed" MacKay!

USA airdate here on a Monday between March 29, 1993-April 26, 1993, given the Matrix aired new episodes on Monday nights between those dates that Joker 1990 aired on USA. I think it is the 12th, 19th, or 26th of APril, however.

My memory's a bit spotty these days, but I do remember recording this (and other shows on the same tape) on Easter Monday, 1993. So April 12th is most likely the right answer.

@@secretareavault That would make the Tic Tac and Joker episode most likely the airing from 9/24/1990, as USA would have started those shows from the beginning of the run, and Tic 1990 and Joker 1990 bowed on 3/29/1993 on USA(USA aired Joker 1990 from 12/30/91-9/11/92 also(
