@@JerriHC I, too, have trust issues with finicky game mechanics. Like when you're running around in ANY 3D Zelda or Sonic game and you definitely got within range of a rupee/ring but it DOESN'T PICK Up so I have to be extra careful to run right through the center of it even if it means losing valuable time. :///
What's even more impressive is the fact that he's been playing mario for 20+ years and didn't know in the godzilla level that when big or mega, you can hit blocks from beneath to break them

Similar to the Chad story - My best friend growing up, Nick, was only ever in a few of my classes in high school and he was always the funniest part of them because he just DIDN'T CARE. We made soup in home ec. and he inspired us to dump a shit ton of pepper, he was in my woodshop class and only ever made cutting boards and stash boxes, we had drafting together and I don't know if he did anything in that class, etc. In middle school, we also had French class together. The first day of class, our teacher had us pick out French names off a piece of paper that we'd use for the semester. I picked one that sounded as close to my name as possible, but he lost his mind. He called me over, really cool like, and was like "Hey, check it out. [Points to paper.] That's gonna be my name."
He chose Guy.
He wouldn't stop joking about it like, "Yeah, I'm gonna be Guy. Be like 'J m'appelle Guy'," pronouncing it the English way where the u makes an i noise. Then when he announced to the teacher what his name would be, she corrected him and moved on, saying the French name was pronounced with the u making an e noise. And he was DISTRAUGHT... or as distraught as he could be because he took a lot of stuff in stride. Just sat there like, "Man... I'm 'gee'. Thought I was 'guy,' but I'm 'gee.'"

I wish we still kept in touch. Last I heard he was getting married in Florida. He never updates social media. He lives in the same state I'm in, but about 200 miles away. Haven't seen him in a long time.

Before that, the last thing I posted was a card game I saw called "Dude: A Game Where You Say Dude A Lot." And when we hung out, he did say "Dude" a lot. Yeah fun fact about the Area 51 thing. There is a cycling ride event that takes participants to the gates of Area 51. They aim their guns at the riders as they approach the gate and don’t lower them till they leave. They aren’t joking.
I thought shitake mushrooms were bigger and flatter, and enoki mushrooms were the long skinny white ones you'd find in shabu shabu. From what I remember from Japan. :D I just remember loving enoki mushrooms when our couchsurfing host's wife made us a huge hot pot with a ton of enoki mushrooms, and it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.

I get the sneaking suspicion that Dan sort of just goes along with the joke because he's self aware that people who identify themselves as furries really struggle with being accepted by society since most people find it weird/strange/disturbing, so having more positive/funny people who are to some degree famous turning out to be furries would somehow help them be seen more as normal, not freaks. I myself am not one and don't understand it in the slightest, but to each their own.
It's sort of similar to when people try to convince me that I must be a furry simply because I grew up enjoying games like Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, and Starfox. Given that they're animals that talk and wear clothes, I can see where they're coming from, but it really feels like reaching. Like *oh you like those video game characters, so you're one of us, we're not weird.* At least with my friends and myself; our definition is basically if you jerk it to furry porn, want to specifically date someone who wants to bang wearing animal costumes, and has considered owning or owns one of those really expensive *fursona* costumes, then you're a furry.
If you like talking animal characters in games, well then that's normal, we've had generations of people watching talking animals before we started getting a bunch of games with talking animals *mickey mouse, goofy, donald duck, lion king, bugs bunny, etc.
I have no idea why I felt the need to state all of this here, I've just been seeing a lot of comments in many of their videos lately ever since he joked around about it.
People changing their names to get them to say stuff does concern me a bit though, like what if someone changed their name to just say something really inappropriate or racist which might get them in trouble. I love game grumps, I want them to keep doing what they're doing.

Just like any streamer, if a donator donates under a problematic name, or says something that's not ok in their donation message, the streamer just usually pauses and goes "thanks you .... uh... yeah lemme not read that, haha. Thanks, though!"
