In Joe Rogan's podcast, Alex Honnold said he's only a part-time vegetarian. He eats meat occasionally. He also almost exclusively ate meat during his Antarctica trip which was featured on Reel Rock 13. But yes, i do agree these elite athletes are promoting a less-meat diet.
@@collude92 Yeah of course, there are often complications with strict plant-based or vegan diets. Being flexible is important when food availability is different also to mitigate excess stress around food choices in social situations. Especially when these guys have to maintain athletic performance, might not always have access to adequate vegetarian foods.
As an Indonesian I'm flattered seeing how Adam appreciate the unique flavor of our food, he also now set my goal to send 9A... I need more nasi goreng now

In my opinion a 7c on rock is easier than a 7c in the gym, also the competition finals (that adam do, for example world championship) are around 8b i think
Hi Adam. You mentioned your spicies for 7a,9a,9b in the video, since spices are so helpful, could you please recommend some other spices in your diet? thx a lot
They were all spice blends so ingredients can vary: 7c ¨Himalayan salt with spices¨ salt with pepper, chili powder and maybe lemon 9a Indonesian ¨Nasi Goreng spice mixture¨ cayenne, chili powder, ginger, galangal, salt, garlic 9b ¨Curry Powder¨ coriander, cumin, turmeric, mustard, cinnamon...
Why is it that all climbers are either vegan or vegetarian? Skinny gazelles

Seems the most elite rock climbers on planet Earth tend toward a whole-food, plant-based, vegan, or vegetarian diet. It's happening folks. Veganism will take over.
Lol, I am not a climber, and I am sure this works for the purpose, but this is exactly the kind of cooking I try to avoid, it’s just kinda thrown together in a mash and relying on spice for it to even have a flavour. I go on extended hikes in the arctic for like a month or more at a time, living more or less off what I can catch spear-fishing. It’s very sparse and cooked with the limitations of a trangia stove, so it becomes all the more important for me to at least try cook things well, procedurally or the days just get lost in a haze pot stew mush for every meal. Meals that are good, and well cooked on top of serving the purpose of activcity just matter for morale, I find … :D
"7c is a good warm up grade." That hurt a little inside.
Don't worry I felt the same :P
i thought the same lol my warmup is in the range of 5 to 6 😅
train harder, and make 7c warm up for you ;)
@@Brewsto You got absolutely destroyed
@@Brewsto lol what are you saying buddy
The only thing I learned is that I'll watch anything with Adam Ondra in it.
i wonder if Vivid Video has contacted him about a role.....................lol

Adam being such a nice guy makes this so wholesome.
Whole foods plant based diet seems to be a running theme among elite climbing athletes
Definitely some overlap between loving nature and choosing a less environmentally destructive lifestyle!

Yeah it's that book, How Not To Die, it's probably popular with lots of athletes.
The Plant Potential you mean plants?

+1 for a cooking show with Adam. This was fun 😄
That face Adam makes at the end is so nice! Pure Joy! :D
what a genuinely nice guy!
I loved this video so much! Adam is a real gem. What a sweet video :) So creative with the spice jars, love it.
His humour is so dry, and subtle. I love it haha
He so obviously goofing around. Love it! His smelling the spices in the veggies was so funny.
It was nice to see his personality in this video.
Wait my heart actually melted when he looked at the stuffed animal lmao
It would be amazing to see more diet videos like this. Even greater if Adam Ondra should share more of his diet.
What a sweet and genuine person!
Not a bit of climbing and it may be my favorite video of the series! Humor from Adam!
someone get him a sponsorship for a proper kitchen knife ;)
Great human being. ...and the best climber in the world.
Next Video: "Shitting at the crag: how to"
Those are pretty good knives (as long as you sharp them), probably better than what you can find in many housholds.
there used to be a book on the subject (i think it was a backpacking book but the title was something like that.)
aim for the holds

Warming up on 7c... of course😂😂
When you say „7c is a good warm-up“ and it doesn‘t sound bigheaded at all
The song is The Eastern Plain - Wichita
This is so precious and wholesome
Just loved the dry blood and chalk in his hands 😀
Adam, can you recommend a 7a+ spice for us mortals?
7c is a good warm up grade....7c-8a+ is like the grade in most climbing competition finals!!

Love his T6 California, wish you could actually buy those in the US
Nice cinematography
Like the Format 🥰
I want Adam cookbook! ♥
Adam Ondra, you are the best.
Such a nice and funny video, thanks for this Adam :-)

7c a warm up grade.... it is a goal for common people
and after you hit that goal you will be so good that this will be your warm up grade ;)
Adam Ondra is an excellent vegan chef
He even uses climbing rope as a toothbrush! Made one for his friend as well. 0:55
Mikko Haavisto ha ha ha ha, i thought the same thing
So glad to find you guys' comments on that :')
What type of van is this?
he cooked the tofu last and the vegetables first.. spices mid way through.. OOF that was hard to watch
so? vegies probably take a little longer than the tofu I would assume?
@@michael2305 No the veggies get soft and become mush especially with the way he's stirring it.

Adam cooks like my brother. He just mixes a few things together and that's it. I wonder how it tastes.
Adam is a nice guy!
When is Adam going to post the details on his eating crickets? Seriously, what is he really doing?
i'm a climber, i don't eat
that's how i lose weight!

wholesome
love it
Well observed from Adam: the more carbs you eat the faster you get hungry again.
Just came for that 9b risotto.
interesting
Looks like Adam's been checking some of your old videos, Mani!
I want some 9b spices :D
On sighted Tofu. ..Maniac.
With finger strength of 9C, you can chop a stone with that toy knife.
I've never met a climber who doesn't live in his van.
(I've met 0 climbers.)
Nice vegan meal. Go vegan guys, if you want to rock climbing hard and save the world btw.
How many climbers do you think there are in the world? ;)
Ok, youtube, I fucking watched it.
Lol. Dude is quirky... and freakishly strong hahaha. I hope my kid grows up to be like him
This guys hands could hold two basketballs each
he doesn't have hands he has claws.

That was adorable though ngl😂
So cute!
I love his cutting skills :D 1:46 :D
Cubkins with a knife like this it’s impossible to cut properly tho

Just ate a farmers burrito. Time to climb
Adorable
Way to stink up the van for days my dude
like hes assed a stink lad hes a climber
L'olio monini è l'unica cosa italiana in quel risotto🤣
He seems a little lonely. The sloth and all was cute, but.... kinda sad.
Cost of being a boss I suppose.
Looks like a lemur to me, not that it makes any difference
felt the same way. i suppose hardcore climbers prefer that kind of lifestyle sometimes.
Any Czech people here?
gosh he's so cute
how does he not have a nicer van setup ? like Honnold and many others have an apartment in theirs.
There is no nicer van setup than a VW California :-)
But where is da sauce ?!? 😧
