- explaining the basics of stream movement and how it can be used to represent sounds in a song
just to clarify, this video isn't saying "do things this way or your map is bad." comfortable movement isn't always necessary, but it's important to understand in order to contrast different types of movement. i've got videos explaining that already, but i don't expect everyone to have seen them.
...also my old microphone broke. this is a different microphone so it sounds different

If i was a teacher i would make a student write an essay about this video for detention
I'd love to have you as my teacher then.
"they require fluid motion to stop then move again in another direction"
"fuck you how dare you make that pattern asymmetrical, you get a _B_ for bullshit"
mazzerin did nothing wrong
nah, neva
I'm new to osu sooo, an explanation for the joke if possible please?
@@evernarten42 crazy songs that are 9 8 stars stream maps. Hard AF 😂
@@ns_dragon_gamer2933 OK I get that I'm not that new but who tf is mazzerin the beatmap maker?
@@evernarten42 he is known for mapping really hard stream shit like apparition, which has not been FC'ed to this day
Have you ever thought about making a map that goes against all the mapping guidelines you talk about (streams, over/undermapping, etc)? I think it would be interesting to see what you would consider a really uncomfortable map that still follows proper timing/bpm.
was waiting for you to go, "And then theres the way Mazzarin likes to stream.."
You should've mentioned Hanzer streams or streams of 2's, they're decently common in technical maps ^^ Good video as usual though :D
at some point i will talk about those probably
***** Cool :D Thanks :)
Do you know everything?
What is the meaning of life?
How do you eat pizza?
Why do players quit OSU! so suddenly?!?!?!?!?!!??

Finally,I was waiting for this video.I luv u pishi
Hold on since when are you making outtros
i regret it already
WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE REAL PISHIFAT
yay i've been waiting for a video on this :3
GoldenWolf is a master at creating and handling streams and i recommend everyone to check his maps and find reasoning why did this and that. It will be kinda easy to understand after watching this video, plus his maps will help to assimilate this info. He has an idea for every map, and they differ, plus he's doing it while sticking to his own style. So, that's will be basically how to make stream in 1000 ways.
Thanks for the video, was having trouble on how to make a stream make sense with a song.
But wait, every popular stream map has sharp angles during streams, why are they bad????????????????
-------joke------->
you
did *you* watch the video?
e: there was another who said something like did you watch the video or something so i asked him if he watched it
before anyone else doesn't understand my comment i was just repeating 2:52, a little "funny joke", if you will, a little cheeky comment since I liked that part of the video quite a bit
I don't think you realise how tone or context doesn't come across in text over the internet, your comment honestly made you sound a little stupid like you hadn't watched the video
i think the tone was pretty clear with all the question mark spam lol
thanks for the video bro
How do I put continuous groups of circles in the editor? Am I supposed to manually put each note in the editor for each stream?
apparition in the video
this goin be good
How do you make a stream? Do you have to put down every single circle individually?
thanks
when you are done with the mapping series. could you do a sort of "live modding" series, where you look at new mappers map where you talk about: what elements are good/bad, what could be changed to make the map better etc. this might be a risk and videos might take a long time, but I would watch them + it might help mappers struggling to find mods get some exposure. I think it would be cool and it could help out us low tier mappers get better.
Thanks, your vids inspire me to get straight into the editor and start mapping something.
By the way guys, if you want to learn more about streams, "A Mo" (name of the youtube channel) also has a great video about them, cheers.
So I'm trying to map this song and I'm running out of creative jumps and patterns. Should I continue to make the song more "fun" by creating different jump patterns or use similar patterns to emphasize the song? Which is better for ranking it? Btw I've never mapped anything before if you could tell.
both could work
Perfect timing. I was just started mapping a dnb map.
update?
update?
wait until you find out about tnd maps
those dank as fuck beats doe
how to switch the slider?
Is mapping suppose to be difficult? I feel likes its suppose to be enjoying because you can do whatever you want basically. Maybe Im just stupid but i feel i get stuck sometimes and then I second my guess myself if the rhythm is on beat, etc
How do u place streams tho
6:07 map?
i can't do fluid motion for some reason
Jumps Next? Gotta learn the secret of pp ya know? Kappa
Watch his other videos...
Can someone tell me how do you convert slider into stream? I'm searching for it everywhere
seiii ctrl shift f ?
yea I already know it tnx
What about making streams look nice? I can never make them look good and I don't know how to do it :c
i like your tutorials, i have 2 notes for them: 1. do you use capital letters? i dont either
2. could you make a video comparing simple maps vs complex ones? some maps are made very linearly, with not lot of creativity in the spacing
no one who plays osu! seriously uses capital letters.
I'm a simple man, I see a pishi video, I hit like
Do slider streams pls. Them streams when instead of circles it’s 1/4 or 1/8 sliders. I looooooove sliders
What do you think about using 1/4 sliders inbetween the streams to emphasize specific parts of the sound like in the case of My Spirit Will Go On, where the sliders are put inbetween the streams?
hard to know what you mean. there's a lot of 1/4 sliders between streams on that map and it seems like they follow the ideas i talk about here
I saw the examples of starting/ending a stream with a 1/4 slider, but I didn't saw you taking as an example of putting those inbetween the streams, I guess you're right, they actually do the same, you discussed in the video, my bad :D
Would like to see some discussion on how spacing changes affect gameplay (streamjumps/doublestreamjumps/accelerating/spaced stream , ...). Solid video nonetheless.
i kinda talked about all of those already except "doublestreamjumps" because idk what those are lol
I guess something like this osu.ppy.sh/ss/7011170
Ah sorry for that, I meant the 2-note streamjumps popularised by HanzeR in his Miss You map. Well you did talk about using spacing for emphasis but you didn't really talk about how they play. In my opinion those are quite edgy to play and maps that use these patterns must have a very clear concept on when to use them, which is a hard thing for newer mappers to achieve and often executed horribly (tbh even experienced mappers have trouble executing them properly imo). I think you are aware of this and you kind of(?) addressed it saying that they were included in your previous videos, but I thought you would give more insights to them.
when i can find a way to say what i want to say about them, i'll have a video about it probably
I'm sorry I'm late but I have a terminology question, if streams aren't spaced and distance between centers of the notes is more than 1/2 of their diameter how do we call them? Or there is no special term?
I don’t think we really have terminology for streams other than stream and spaced stream
You should make an intro, something like "hey guys it's scar- I mean pishifat here"
Nikita kiss yourself
ZeppyTheGuy krank your souljaboy
Project Overturn keep yourself safe
ZeppyTheGuy Nah bru Im edgy as can be
isn't "hello there" good enough?
could you make a video about guest diffs or just explain it briefly?
Hoichael45 guest diffs are difficulties made by people, and they are sent through giving the .osu to the beatmap creator
But how do you place it?
Just asking , should I use spaced stream in my map ?
if it's like the hardest difficulty in your mapset and there's a stream during the chorus of the song that your mapping and it has like, really loud sounds, yeah go for it.
that hello there sounded like from an osu tutorial
Pishi, what are you going to do with your channel when you have covered all the aspects of mapping? :(
i don't see that happening any time soon
Sounds good to me :)
Mikkel delete it.
Move on to Taiko!
*wink wink*
Please do this though, I suck at mapping Taiko
Attempting to map a song with extratone elements in it. Should I use:
-1/4 streams at 1200 BPM (fuck no)
-Buzz sliders such that the clicking pattern is the same as a 300 BPM stream (auto can't SS)
-Buzz sliders such that the clicking pattern is the same as a 150 BPM stream (feels too slow but auto still might be unable to SS)
-Normal 300 BPM streams (undermapping)
-Normal sliders (undermapping even more, but also not really at the same time?)
._.
what the hell kinda song are you mapping
Don’t
3:07 mind blown
This is great and all but... how do u actually make the streams themselves :-:
ctrl+f on a slider, or using distance snap to map the streams
I.m kinda mad over 1/6 streams. Are those really doable? What do u think bout em pishi?
What’s wrong with 1/6 streams
Nothing wrong if they’re used properly
1:00 wtf is with the title of the map
skin link?
1:38
Tech mappers: *I see no problem here*
what skin do you use? .
i already asked it in another video of yours but no answer...
Look in older videos ^^ in old videos are a link for the skin ^^
EDIT: Look in the video ''osu!mapping: basic spacing''
So you are saying weird angles make it harder?
What about continuous 1/4 wide jumps? What are they useful for?
not sure what you mean
my guess is spaced streams cause they play differently than normal ones at least from my experience
pishifat something like blue dragon's airman. Continuous 1/4 jumps. Do u think doing that throughout the map is good or bad?
Where do you see 1/4jumps in airman ?
AyanokoRin everywhere lol
Fuck, mapping is complicated.
coming here after 5 years to say that this is now called a "Worm"
how do I make streams that don't look like ass though :(
quaternary make them a smooth line
use a slider to determine an automatically curved slider oh shit this comment was ancient

Your voice is kinda hot doe..
Streams on osu are impossible for me. I cant press two keys in a rythm. For example : Z X Z X Z X etc, rather my brain goes Zxz ZZX xzx XZZX
you're meant to just alternate dude, it's not hard
So you basiclly say: dont map shit patterns... (at the start)

There's so effing much too mapping. That it's almost not worth.
