@@AdventureswithAmandaandMark I never thought I would want to do one as we are quite active, but this cruise would be up our street, gym, swimming, deck walking, plus silent disco and cocktails I might have to talk Wayne into booking this cruise lol
@@adventureswithangelaandwayne All cruise ships have a gym to some extent and a walking/running track so we always make sure we go to the gym or go for a run - we actually cancelled a cruise last year because although we weren’t in lockdown anymore they were keeping the gym closed and we were going to be at sea for 5 days so said it wasn’t for us. Thankfully because of all the Covid stuff we were able to transfer to another raise later in the year. We have also taken our road bikes with us on two cruises and have hired bikes in a couple of places or gone for a run, volcano hike, long walks etc just to keep active - you put on so much weight on a cruise 😂
That’s the only thing I would dread putting on more weight through drinking lush cocktails and good food. I think while we can we are going to do all the activate holidays until we need a restful one, hence our next one a cycle holiday, thanks for the advice though appreciate it, enjoying your vlogs 👍
Love the Anthem have been on her twice out of Bayonne NJ( Cape Liberty) 11 day Southern Caribbean and returning on Anthem BtoB on Anthem in January 2024 Love your videos. I have sailed out of Southampton before . QE 2 2008

😂 Awhh I’m glad you watched this, bit different from our normal adventures and we weren’t sure how well the footage we took was going to come together. We were going to do a full tour of the ship but didn’t get round to it but then I guess we were on holiday and with friends. Thanks for watching both 😊 xx

Haven't cruised to Hawaii, but it is my favorite destination. Excited for Greenland in the fall. Lived the motorhome life in my youth. Lots of great memories of those travels.
@@christinevillela2710 Hi Christine, I seem to have missed this comment, I’m so sorry for not replying earlier. We did a Carnival cruise around the Caribbean back in 2016 and weren’t too keen. Both of our RC ones have been transatlantic and we loved them. We have done a few other lines, Celebrity, Marella and P&O. We hope to be trying out MSC later in the year. Mark would love to do a transpacific cruise but think that might be a bit pricey! Great to hear you enjoyed motorhoming when your younger - we’re only 2 years in but loving it 🚐😊 Thanks for watching again and enjoy Greenland 🇬🇱

I first set sail to Australia when I was a little girl in the fifties and I did 4 sailings, so 2 trips to Australia and back. My father was in the Royal Navy and was sent there on loan service. I went on the Orient line which joined the P&O line. I sailed across the Atlantic in 1960 on a Cunard liner and have resided in Canada ever since . In 2008 l started cruising with my late husband, we wintered near Orlando and did 5 cruises out of Port Canaveral. Due to my husband's declining health sold our Florida home but took repositioning cruises out of Boston down to the Caribbean. Boston is a scant 1 hour flight from our home in Nova Scotia. My husband died and I took my daughter with me just prior to the Covid lockdown. I visited my hometown of Winchester in October and returned to North America on the Anthem as a solo cruiser. I had an amazing state room with a large balcony designed for one occupant. I met some lovely people and I really enjoyed Vintages bar. I didn't do any dare devil stuff I just relaxed and enjoyed myself.
@@annesoper911 Wow!! You have done a lot of cruises and from an early age too! It sounds like you have had an amazing life full of loads of amazing travels! I’m sorry to hear about losing your husband but its good that you can still enjoy cruising and a large balcony state room sounds fab - both our transatlantic cruises have been in inside cabins. We started cruising in 2015 as it took me a while to convince Mark to go on one - I was hooked after one I did a long time ago and knew he’d love it. We went to Japan, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong for his 50th back in 2018 - the furthest we have gone for a cruise. We liked Vintages bar too, they made a great espresso martini 😉
I have never even heard of a virtual balcony - what a great idea for an inside cabin. Do they cost more than a cabin without one? I am planning a solo transatlantic right now and the solo cost for my usual balcony has caused me to pause. I could live with a virtual balcony if it's showing what's going on outside a real balcony. Thanks for sharing.

There are virtual balconies in all of the inside cabins onboard Anthem of the Seas but we’re not sure about other Royal Caribbean ships so unfortunately don’t know if there would be any extra cost. Maybe if the ship had some cabins with or without then yes there might be. We got this cruise quite cheap as we booked about 20 months before we sailed and usually do go with the cheaper inside cabins - we have yet to try a real balcony cabin on any cruise line - one day we will 😊 Ours had a view of the ship’s wake but we believe some might have a view from the bridge. I don’t think there are any side views. We didn’t spend a lot time in our cabin though, too much to do around the ship. Are you going on Anthem or another ship/cruise line? This transatlantic left Southampton mid October and stopped at different places before arriving on New York two weeks later. A lot of the repositioning cruises go around this time and then come back in April. Our first one was the end of October and took 8 nights to get to the Caribbean without stopping and then we had a 7 day cruise around after which was really good. So many to choose from but we enjoyed both of ours with Royal Caribbean. Would you be happy spending a week on a ship without getting off? Thanks for watching and commenting - Amanda & Mark 😍
