I came here for the review and was absolutely enthralled by the demonstration. Such a pleasing track and quality of sound. Feels like a warm hug on a road trip in autumn :)
this is a great demo! "one mic for everything" demos are *incredibly* educational, and this one is an excellent example of such videos. although the sv33 should theoretically be "better", i like the sound of this person's video when he did everything with the SDC DK7 mic collection. that demo had a bit more air and distinction to the sound. based on this video, i wouldn't do an entire song with only the sv33, but i could see fitting it into places where you don't want too much of the same frequency build-up from some of the other mics being used. so it can be used to counteract too much mic build up from the other mics.

INTENTIONALLY MADE IRREPARABLE! Bought a second-hand SV33 for around 2000€, because it sounds amazing and wanted to have it for life. After it went dead the support said to toss it as its "not likely we'd be able to repair it if it’s related to the electronics as our mics are hardened on the inside". I understand, although I think it's totally wrong. Something I'd expect from Wish and AliExpress.
Hey, late to the party - fabulous job! Other mics at the price point - if you were only using it for male vo ie audiobooks etc, what would you see as decent alternatives (not including 87ai)? Thanks
Thank you! :D That’s a good question, I would think the Neumann TLM49, the Austrian Audio OC18, the new Lewitt mic looks the business too, but I have not tried it yet. :)
@@alecbrits yes the oc18 is a great mic. I'd love to try an SV33, the detail it delivers is....intriguing! Have you tried the Soyuz 017 fet? Also, does the Cranborne interface have pres without using any 500 devices?
It’s an expensive unit for sure. :) I’m the future they will be available. Just not quite yet, still writing and planning to record and finish the tunes.

Not yet! I’m cautious to not push the masters up on the speakers. I’m a really big fan of how bass sounds through guitar amps. :)
