I hate how bloated the number of Iron man skins is just because he's hard surface modeled and easy to produce skins for. I don't know how you drop the bag this hard on aesthetics for the most profitable IP of all time.
Simple a game like this should be given to people that understand that
They make a lot of skins for Iron Man because they sell!
*No no no he’s got a point*

@@biospark4758 yeah, what kind of retarded statement is that? Marvel may be a powerhouse when it comes to movies but video games and elsewhere? Nobody cares

The superior ironman handband thing being that low annoys me way more than it should. Its just so perfectly displeasing.
The Ultimate Armor actually exists in this game's universe, it has appeared in some prequel comics and it suggests that it was made by Tony in the past. I think it's a pretty weird reference for such an obscure comic.
Fun Fact: The Ultimate Iron Man comic, which told the origin of Tony Stark in that universe, was so utterly bad that it was literally RETCONNED to be an inaccurate biopic based on Tony Stark’s life!
@@NoahDaArk I didn't know they retcon that lmao

it is basically impossible to make iron man uncool outside of mark 1 but they've done it consistently with pretty much all of these which is depressing
It's genuinely amazing. These people should never get to touch a Marvel game again.
Idk, MCU did it justice IMO, and actually made it scary to me
The mk1 looks so cool tho
Nah fam, mark 1 ain’t cool, it’s badass
Ok but the Mark 42 is outstandingly badass
Man, if there's something that really gets me upset is people defending companies that do a terrible job and charge money for it. There are modders out there creating much better Iron Man suits for games that don't even have Iron Man in it and they're doing it _for free._ Companies have no excuse. _No excuse._

This video showed me one thing Iron Man in the first three movies has some amazing suits and it's the only time I'll say they just improved on the design of a comic character outright in any MCU film.
MK3 is such a classic design. My top three are MK3, Bones, and MK42
Cap looks so much cooler in the MCU. Comics Cap looks goofy as shit
@@marxist-leninist-protagonist and hulk is accurate as shit, alongside the dope looking spidey suits, Bucky, falcon, loki, and short haired Thor are all great
@@Hirabeatz Oh fuck yeah I love their designs! I see the MCU getting flack for the "realism" in its costume, but that's EXACTLY what I love about it. I do get it is a tendency in hollywood to make every comics/cartoon adaption more "realistic" or "serious" (like Transformers for example)... and that has bad implications, basically saying that cartoonish stuff isn't adult or can't be taken seriously...
But I think the MCU usually pulls it off. It just blends better with live action.
Then again, I got into the MCU way before I read any comics, so I understand the criticism, it's just the opposite for me.
I’ll say my favorite Iron Man suit is the mark 7 suit from Avengers 1. The boosters on the back, the mix of red, gold, and silver, and the triangle arc reactor make it my favorite suit.
Edit: I forgor he had circle reactor
I'm shocked they didn't explore the MCU more, it's a gold mine of suits. The mark 1 in the MCU is badass, it's proportions might need to be messed with a bit to fit the game rig tho, so I kinda get that. The mark 2 is literally a recolor of the mark 3, seems like an easy fit for them lol. And the army of suits in iron man 3 look great! You could even give him the look of the sentinals in age of Ultron. I'm willing to give them creative liberties to change the comic suits a bit, but using that as an excuse to reuse assets is lame, and some of them make the design look worse.
It would doubly be cool with your idea of the Ultron Sentinels that when he is using the skin, his voice lines were that of a traditional Ultron Sentinel and not Tony Stark
The mcu has too many Iron man suits plus it wouldn't be as great because it won't show the cool suit up unfortunately
The game was updated a while ago and they added a lot more Mcu suit (example: civil war suit)
Eh.. NO, most CUM armors are just lazy repaintings, honestly the armors from ARMORED ADVENTURES are way cooler, better crafted & more fun to look at
The issue of the Mark 1 suits to me is that they kinda look too complex and part of what I think makes the Mark 1 work is that it looks kinda like it could be reasonably made by a dude working off scraps and stuff
Exactly, and Mark 1 is simple and functional
I want an insomniac Spider-Man level game but for Ironman
15:38 if you want more proof, Spider-Gwen in the current tv show has pink highlights because the character designer used google and saw an image of GwenPool who has pink highlights and thought that they were the same

@@mateoreyes6921 it's a pretty common thing honestly
Just before Hasbro bought power rangers, Boom did a comic cover/poster (can't recall what exactly) depicting every ranger up until that point
But instead of drawing Camille from Power Rangers Jungle Fury they instead drew Chameleon Green from Uchu Sentai Kyuranger because at the time the top search result was the Super Sentai Character
AbyssWarrior not surprised, i think the disney animations have done that too
How do you get to have a job as a character designer for a comic book game and not read comics?
@johnolmos8670 work for hire. It's not work for experience. It's exactly what's going on with modern day MCU directors and showrunners. Some are even told to not read the original comics beforehand by Marvel Studios. Idiots.

I actually like the artificial suit looking scratched up because if the suit is basically his body for a while, it would make sense for the paint to be chipping off given how long it would be getting used for versus how long it was designed to be used for. I think they should have had two versions for beat up versus not (while preferably not making you buy it twice,) but I guess that was too much work for them.
good take
Agreed. The head shouldn't have looked likea Jolly Rancher tho.
except Iron Man didn't spray paint his armor.
The reason I really don't like the makeshift armor is the same reason I didn't like it in Iron Man 3. Tony Stark's entire shtick is how good he is at building things out of scrap. I was expecting back then to make himself an entire suit of armor out of spare parts. Yeah, obviously he didn't have the time he had while he was in the cave in the first movie, but he also was not a prisoner and had access to a ridiculous amount of material. And this isn't his origin story, we're not talking about the first time he's doing this. He's been building suits for years. He could have made himself an armor out of shovels if he wanted to. And in the game, same deal. He has no money but he's been, how many _years_ alone? Are you telling me that in all that time he couldn't and wouldn't have made himself an entire suit of armor to keep ready? Ridiculous. Jesus, when freaking _Batgirl_ can make herself a functioning suit out of spare parts in a few days and Iron Man can't you know you screwed up as a writer.
That's one of the main reasons I like the Tony from the last Avengers show, he made a suit out of literal rock and wood

To be fair to the game, the devs clearly got most of their design influences from the mcu, so it makes sense they'd go for the shoddy shit "suit" inspired from Iron man 3 as opposed to going for the more open ended creativity and potential like "I made this suit out of a cat's footstep and dog barks" ridiculousness that comics embrace
If you're going to make skins based off comics, why not make them as comic book accurate as possible? Show some love to the franchise
To be fair, it depends on the skin and game in question. Some suits may not "look" right depending on the game. I know in Batman Arkham City, some of the classic Robin skins look odd in Arkham City's artstyle. The best looking ones are those that did get slightly tweaked.
Here’s your answer, they didn’t care
Easy, they didn't care if the game looked or was good, all they wanted is to make as much money they can with the Avengers, all around the game screams that, the game came out when the Avengers where the most popular thing, it was a multi-player game, so you and your friends could buy the game to play it, it has a movile game hud (that's basically lazy design), a real money shop (I find this lame, it's OK for free games but you have to pay for the game but if you want an especific skin instead to get it by a challenge you have to pay)
In my opinion, i think the makeshift suit looks pretty good except for the helmet. if they took that off it would be one of my favorites
25:53 SAME, THAT SUIT APPEARED ON THE BEST IRON MAN MEDIA
*-IN THE ANIME SERIES FROM 2010*
*-IN THE CANCELLED(but great) VIVA LAS VEGAS comic*
*-EVEN APPEARED ON THE ULTIMATE COMICS FOR A WHILE*
You can really tell how much effort Adi Granov put on that baby
They always show some nano tech version of his armor being his most advanced and best version. But if tony actually made a last armor with the best tech he could get, it would literally just be a normal suit of clothing that has all the functions of every iron man suit, along with other heroes and villains powers mashed in. Like pym particles and what not.
The fact that there is 26 minutes worth of bad suits just says a lot about the designs 💀
A *BRIEF* look at Iron Man's costumes in Marvel's Avengers:
Dorito God: makes a 30 minute video...
Bleeding Edge is one of my favorite from the comics, but I read very few Iron Man. I think it's mean to look like skintight gold foil covering Iron Man's body, with metal plates arranged on top of it, with both layers being possible due to nanotechnology. Infinity War ended up being greatly faithful in concept, with a skintight armor, albeit with very much its own design.
The Superior Suit made me die of laughter "Looks like he's balding?"
The main reason these suits all look like crap is because of the way they were modeled. With a suit of armor, you would want to model the individual pieces and animate them accordingly to show that there are many moving parts and thus give the illusion of a machine. But these were clearly modeled and textured as one mesh, so you get the stretching in places that are meant to be metal and have no business being attached to one another. The main draw to playing a superhero is the immersion and being them and this just completely takes you out of that immersion without you even realizing it. Shame on them for releasing a game that could have a should have been amazing. I don't understand how Marvel and Disney allow the ball to be dropped on something like this with the amount of money they have made from these IPs. I guess we really aren't ever going to get a good Avengers/Ironman game.
Iron Man VR: *Allow me to introduce myself*
I know I'm tremendously late to the party but I'm revisiting stuff about this doomed game that I had so much hope for when it was first announced.
You're so freaking spot on about how such a mechanized character needs a model and rig that has individual pieces that move in a logical and satisfying way. One nitpicky thing that drove me INSANE with Iron Man in this game, that even tragically affects the occasional good design (so like, basically just the MCU costumes), is the mesh. The way he twists his wrist when you're in the gear changing menu? HORRIFIC. The way the mesh for what's supposed to be hard metal plating is treated like tight cloth when he articulates his arm like that. And not just that but like it's glued to his skin. It's astoundingly bad looking.
I haven't touched the game in years but that little thing has stuck in my memory vividly.
I’d argue it’s much easier to go from comic costumes to video game,it’s essentially the same thing the only issue would probably be the colors. What’s actually hard is comic to irl
i swear to god i have never felt such rage at alternate costumes in my entire life
The reason there's both the prototype armor and the bigger one with the bulkier look, they needed one for the classical look of the comics. The mk 3, I totally agree a out the color being too bright. Reason the red is that bright is I think they are getting their detailed models to base off of from the hot toys toy line where all their iron men figures have a bright red. I too said the shoulders were small but I was told ot might be because of the hot box which means it would give iron man more of an area to target when getting hit compared to other models but thay suit just looks disproportional Ll around between his hands knuckle pad to the upper elbow cover.
“just because it’s crappy on purpose, that doesn’t take away from the fact that… it’s crappy” 😂
Why not allow us the ability to modify colors while they sell us comic and movie accurate skins?
Why would that be so damned hard?
The ultimate iron man suit in the comics looks really cool! Shame I can't say the same for the game
i recently stumbled across this video and i love how you examine these costumes as precisely as possible along with brings a lot of connection and lore behind that particular skin. I highly recommend making these types of videos.
what makes game skins so exciting for me is how far they stray away from the game's usual settings, like my favorites to use in the ps4 spider man game are the weird comic cartoon ones because they commit to the unique looks and feels of each skin
here with iron man (especially with the recolors), they're are all the same and you're not exactly getting a unique experience with playing in each skin
DUDE THANK YOU, I've been looking all over for some looks in Iron Man Armour, just the way you talked about smaller stuff like the shoulders or heck even the superior iron man's little circle holsters! I hope to see more iron man suit talk coming from you dawg!
Ten minutes into this video and the thing that draws my attention the most is that the lower leg sections all look the same.
Same with the forearm designs
I found another honest RUclipsR and I'm happy for that. The last lil bit of the video and that 🎤 drop to finish solidified the how things are not just with video games but the consumer market in general and the companies running them. Peace, love and weed seeds.
Lol if a youtuber doesn't agree with you they're lying?
COMPARE THIS TO THE ALTERNATE SUITS FROM IRON MAN VR & YOU WILL NOTICE WHO MADE THEIR HOMEWORK
Your feelings on the boots of the Silver Centurion is how I feel about the grey colored boots of Spidey's Negative Zone suit. Like- wtf Crystal-D why would you do that? The suit is pure comic perfection and then you get to the stupid fuckin' boots.
Right now is the first time I've seen the Negative Zone costume. I hate how it has different tones, not just black and white. Same issue I have with the PS4 negative one.
@@wiggard I like it better than the PS4 version given it looks closer to the comics. BUT the PS4 version is like- more accurate in it's portrayal in the sense of how it functions... Like it's a black and white variant of Peter's suit so in that sense the PS4 version is better. But I prefer the design in the Avengers, I just hate that the boots are needlessly a goddamn different color than the gloves and other pieces like it's so random it makes no sense.
My big problem is WHERE THE FUCK IS THE MODULAR ARMOR FROM THE LATE 80'S AND EARLY 90'S, is the armor that introduced the character in the cartoons and the capcom games that appeared from Marvel Super Heroes up to Marvel vs Capcom 2.
3:07 looks really sick, i had a figure that looked like this as a kid
ironically enough the classic suit used to be my favorite but when you showed the suit next to the official art i started to hate it 💀 i feel like they try to cater to 2 completely different groups when adapting the zany early comic outfits and i feel like that only helps to create a divide between players. youll have oldheads getting huffy that the silly suits werent adapted well enough (i see this alot with the classic cap costume) and the other side likely doesnt care too much about the old stuff to begin with so theyll probably end up using one of the more modern-looking suits or one of the movie outfits
and its not like the goofy early stuff cant be adapted 1:1 realistically either, alex ross made a career out of that kinda stuff and his work is usually loved by all.

I wish the gold and silver on these costumes was a lot more reflective. Like the superior suit is supposed to be chrome silver and looks very dull as it is
its funny how the iron man 2 game had a more accurate ultimate iron man suit then this one
You know, to me, a good chunk of the Iron Man armors just look like rehashes with minor changes. Which is confusing when the armors that some of them are supposed to be depictions of are so vastly different.
The "it just makes him look like he is balding" got me💀
It would be so easy to make these comic accurate. You could say that they had to focus on multiple characters but that means to make it easier for your self you should just make it comic accurate. Take some liberities like insomniac does for spidey but still make it look good
I've been playing this for "free" thanks to Play Station's game catalogue, and honestly I can see why people hate on this game. I will say that I really like the costumes, especially Captain America's. I wouldn't pay extra money for skins though, not for this game at least. Don't pay extra for a game you don't want to support or can get their in game currency for free.
I think the Mark 3's Red might've been based of some toys because there are a good chunk of toys that are painted a brighter red than the actual armor, even Hasbro with Marvel Legends made the Infinity Saga Mark 3's red too bright
To be fair, the darker shade of red in the mark 3 looked terrible tbh.
I don't care what anyone says, Silver Centurion will ALWAYS be in the Good-Section! Also, can we all agree that the Mark III Armor is one of the BEST MCU designs they've ever made!
The Federation suit could have been cool, if they made a unique character model to follow the comic design.
superior ron man had me in tears
At least Iron Man is the character who it makes sense in universe for having all these skins.

I think the Mark 1 is kind of just like their interpretation of what Tony made in the cave. I really like the redesign, because maybe this Tony had access to better Tech in the cave?

I'm just hoping they get the red correct in the mk7 iron man and not off a hot toys model.
The makeshift suit reminded me of the escape scene in Miami in Iron man 3
I honestly don’t mind if they reuse some parts to make a new suit because if they have to make so many designs in such a little amount of time obviously they might cut corners an bit and even if they take elements from different suits some of them still look petty cool
the millions that went into making this game, released at the peak of the Avengers popularity, means it shouldn't have needed to cut corners. if the people who made it even knew how to use their resources this wouldn't have been a video that needed to exist.
I honestly just think half of these suits are their own interpretation of the iron man armors.
It was smart to address the counterclaims at the end, I always see people attempting to silence the criticism of products created by large corporate entities
The starboost armor always reminded me of the one space armor tony wore in that anime made by marvel and madhouse
The oddest thing about the Illustrious armor (and any of the other skins using this element from it) is it has that strip across the abs like his comic book Model 9 Armor has, and the space armor from Operation: Galactic Storm has, but zero of Iron Man’s skins in this game with that design element are colored to look like those two comic book armors they’re pulling a design element from. And they’ve got to be pulling that element from those armors because those two armors are the only Iron Man armors that have that design element.
The skin where Stark doesn’t have armor on would seem to be a play on that scene from Iron Man 3 were he’s only got like a glove and boot and is doing John Woo Hong Kong movie shootout stuff.
To be fair, the only reason it has that stripe... is because ALOT of the realistic style iron man armors has had it since the model 24 design, and they're just being consistent with that design feature.
the ultimate armor was such a huge let down.
The bleeding edge suit is a just a crappy recolor of the Stark Tech suit and it pisses me off.
Thanks for giving my armor a respectable 6.5/10

I'd really like to know if these costumes were the result of laziness of Marvel constraints. I feel like I heard earlier on that they were limited if not directed to take the costumes in a specific direction for the sake of licensing or some other nonsense. Idk if it's possible but imagine Marvel licensing out a specific suit to Hasbro and that caused an issue.
Oh God. Are they gonna bring back RDJ with the AI iron man suit? Wouldn't put it past them
I’m watching this in 2023 and I have the civil war suit equipped!
lego marvel avengers has better suits
What's absolutely baffling and sad about these and every other suit in Avengers... is that every single suit in Arkham Knight, a game that came out 5 years prior to the Avengers, got a hit out of Every. Single. One. of the Batman skins. From the comic skins to the movie skins they all looked incredible.
To the point that there's a cutscene just for the purpose of watching Batman suit up in the suit of choice and the camera lets you see every single realistic texture, of every single well proportioned Batsuit, and let you take the full scene of just how well those suits moved with batman rolling his shoulders. From the basic first suit from 1939 with purple gloves and splayed ears, to the flashy and shiny purple of the adam west suit, to the 8.03, the default armored war suit. The developers were rightfully so proud of their handiwork they made a cutscene to be able to flex every single batsuit.
And the models change the proportions to match the suit. Like the Iconic Black and Grey suit has huge bulging muscles at the biceps, Christian Bale's is more skinny to match the Dark Knight movie.
Heck even the Beyond suit, which i personally don't see it as such, for not feeling nearly as sleek and futuristic as the animated counterpart still looks so cool that I'd just wanna put it on anyway!
So the developers of Avengers learned absolutely nothing from that game that came out Half a decade prior... Tragic and... honestly it screams laziness.
I really wanna see you go over more characters
I just want a good Iron Man game. It's sad there isn't one. They could make it similar to Armored Core.
Iron Man VR.- Am I a joke to you?
Honest a lot of the Ironman suits in the avengers games just look very wrong, the general design of his main suit in game is actually ok but the test look either to bulky or like hunks of junk and it’s beyond me they charge for some of these. It’s sad that the movie suits were practically the last resort to making actual nice looking Ironman suits, I really wish they’d done more because even Ironman armored adventures had cool designs. Some of the original designs are alright but I just wonder what they were thinking with some of these.
I loved the silver and red ironman 2 costume. I used that one alot
man u are right all the suits u ranked i go with you
Its kinda sad that the design team had a major course correction near the tail end of this game's lifespan. They've been hitting it out the park with comic book inspired skins like the Invincible Iron Man costume they just revealed. But its too late and most of all too expensive.
If may I ask ¿What are your thoughts on the Puke Inducing Decision this game had on Making WAR MACHINE just Tony Stark wearing Black & Erasing Rhodey from the existance?
It was clearly a decision made out of a lack of budget, so I'm not too upset about it
@@DoritoGOD2811In my case I am because it's Something Disney has been doing for years, they LITTERALLY start Acengers Assemble by saying that Falcon & War Machine are the same character, & thwy constanly omit Rhodey from every media, & I seriously doubt this game would be different, even in the Hypothethical cade that thid game didn't flop & got all the DLC's as planed, I can assure they would still made War Machine just an outfit for Tony, specially because he's NEVER mentioned in the game's campaign, & If they ALREADY erase an A-List character like Janet, I have no doubt they would do the same for a B-List like Rhodey
How did they take all my issues with ultimate Iron man (I think the bulky cone look makes it look terrible), remove them, and it somehow looks worse? It looks bug like now, the shoulders look too big for the rest of the suit, the waist looks too thin for the legs and chest and it somehow makes the actual ultimate suit look great by comparison.
The white version of starboost actually also has a lego minifigure, so it’s popular to some extent so that most likely why it was used as a base
Also the Solaris armor looks like the suit worn by that western iron man from lego marvel superhero’s 2, maybe that was what they used for reference?
The bleeding edge looks more like the armor that Tony has in Endgame
I actually disagree with your take on Starboost. I think Starboost looks pretty sick in game and I don’t think it’s an issue taking a suit from the movies. The issue is that they took it from the movie and fucked it up.
Another thing, Iron Knight and the Wakandan armor look pretty sick and I’d put them probably at an 8 for Iron Knight and a 7 for the Wakandan armor.
The biggest issue for me really is the fact that Stark made each armor for different purposes, and the armors in game don’t give us any distinctly different features
