The apartheid governments, despite not being ethically or morally sound, were stable, while the transition to black leadership had the possibility of being very unstable, or even for internal conflicts to arise, and you absolutely do not want nukes floating around in that type of environment.
Canada never had nukes, its a bit of a dumb statement. Ukraine was always going to get invaded regardless of nukes, nobody wants to launch a nuke, it would be global suicide as everyone would instantly declare war on you, and worst case we are all dead anyways. There is no reason to waste resources on nuclear arsenal that will never rival Russia or America. It does not give you an edge, if Ukraine had a nuclear weapon, what could they even do? Russia is massive and they cant nuke all of Russia, but Russia can nuke all of Ukraine ten times over. So its a dumb statement that some nukes for Ukraine would some how prevented this.
The video is informative but the Russian casualties should be taken with a pinch of salt because Russia is not fighting those Bakhmut, Avdiivka style gruelling urban battles anymore They are not attacking big towns and cities head on instead they are flanking them from sides to force Ukrainians to abandon their positions and retreat like they did in Selydove. After previously attacking with tanks head on towards Vuhledar and taking huge casualties Russians this time flanked Vuhledar which forced 72nd Brigade to retreat to avoid being encircled. Russian have changed their tactics by not attacking in huge armoured columns but instead are attacking in small groups of 10 man on bikes or on foot which has dramatically reduced Russian casualties. Independent neutral sources have indicated Russian casualties to be as high as 250,000 not more then that. Its best to hear from Ukrainian soldiers on the frontlines rather then thier generals who are mostly playing politics and PR attacks rather then proper war planning. Ukrainian soldiers have admitted that russians are now attacking them in small teams which has made it harder for them to target Russians. Russia now barely uses its armoured cars and only uses them to transport soldiers rather then to attack and has mostly stopped its tanks attacks also
While you make very good points for how the "fog of war" works, I really don't buy that Russian casualties have "dramatically reduced" at the exact same time they are estimated to be the highest per day basically ever. Two new fronts have opened up since the spring, Ukraine remains on an advantageous defensive in both, and Russia is going HARD on an offensive in Donbas right now. The casualties are probably not being lied about, they are just high for slightly different reasons than before.

@@prominentmagpie7153 most of russian losses are documented, so Ukraine was trying to keep russian losses as close to truth as possible. And those losses are possible, since up to half russian forces are not even russians, a lot of them are from donetsk and luhansk. And yeah, the estimates are not just from Ukraine
In both cases, it was Russian weapons located abroad. Ukrainian government didn't have the codes to use them, neither dominated all technology behind it. So it's more a piece of propaganda than a real fact. Yes, with enough time they could circumvent this, but the US didn't want to support this madness, so if Ukraine were to push for it in early 90s, Russia could invade and the US really wouldn't back them.
Two things Mr. Kings and Generals. 1. In the beginning of you videos a tank stops atop a pile of debris. Would this not silhouette the tank thus making it vulnerable to attack. 2. In this video you said "we" when referring to the Ukraine/Russian conflict. Are you Ukrainian? You did say "we."
If the US abandons Ukraine, it'll make every other democratic western nation lose some relation with the US. The US, while powerful, needs to be careful too. It's very easy to get knocked off the top of the podium. China is already knocking at that door. The Trump administration could very easily see the US drop into second place for the first time in a long time.
Ukraine is not in Nato. Though honestly Europe has not bothered seriously maintaining their defense for years so this is angreat wake up call. These open borders people are going to realise nationalism is the only way you get people to fight. No migrants will die for a foreign nation they have no loyalty to.
I don't want to stop supporting Ukraine, but with the sheer level of fatigue with the war - both from those who are on the ground fighting it and those who are supplying it - I don't see this conflict ending in a Ukrainian victory no matter how much we may want it to. It would take Russia running out of soldiers to do that. Ukraine simply doesn't have the manpower to fight both Russia and North Korea in the long-term (as we can see here with the pressure and trepidation to lower the mobilization age), they can't outpace the increasing support of Iran, China, and India (not to mention Russia's own internal production capabilities), and with the U.S. electorate voting in both a new President and Congress partly on the basis that they can't afford groceries, I don't think most are interested in funneling more American money over there for what seems to be a cause that can't be won. You can also blame our support of Israel and growing internal strife over their displacement of Palestinians that has harmed a lot of the American populace's interest in being involved in any external war right now. The only real solution is a negotiated peace where Ukraine is able to join NATO and obtain the direct protection of the alliance to prevent any further Russian aggression. We've already seen a desire to do that with both Finland and Sweden joining NATO as well to protect their borders.
Maybe give UA more than 1 spoon of help per month? Ukraine is capable of putting out offenses still. Look at Kursk. Nobody saw that coming, yet Ukraine managed to do it with limited resources.
@sircatangry5864 Small wins doesn't mean strategic success. The Ukrainian incursion into Kursk has really done nothing for the other fronts and with the arrival of nK troops in Kursk has all but eliminated that small win.
@@sircatangry5864 WEVE GIVEN THEM OVER 150 BILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF WEAPONS YET THEY CANT EVEN KEEP THERE RECURITING OFFICERS FROM ACCEPTING BRIBES FROM ANYONE WHO DOESNT WANT TO FIGHT. WHY SHOULD WE HELP SOMEONE WHO WONT HELP THEMSELVES
@@sircatangry5864 Oh, no argument there, I agree. As I see it, the problem is not equipment per se but rather manpower. Kursk was a stunning offensive that definitely buoyed morale for Ukraine, but they are already losing their gains there due to the inability to reinforce and fortify that land with fresh troops. Plus, the offensive in Kursk probably made it possible for Russia to begin advancing along the front elsewhere since the Ukrainian troops used there couldn't be allotted to hold the preexisting frontline.
@kempana9414 Same can be said about Russia. Have they reached any strategic success? Have they taken Pokrovsk? Did they cut off the Slovyansk-Konstantinovka agglomeration? Small wins signal the possibility of strategic success. If we go by book, the only strategic victory in the entire war was Ukrainian Kupyansk offensive. Kursk took attention of about 50 thousand russian troops. It is a size of force that is storming Chasiv Yar for example. Imagine what would've happened if those 50 thousand helped in the Pokrovsk direction for example. Plus the fact Russian territory is occupied complicates every negotiation where freezing the frontlines is the main idea.
The long term consequences are too heavy to ignore. With their demographic issues, losing the men between 18 and 25 would be a catastrophic blow in the long term. The Ukrainian government doesn' t have the luxury of thinking only in the short term. It has to consider the post-war situation too.
According to Demographics of Ukraine there's roughly 9.6 million Men in Ukraine between the Ages of 25-54 and 2.5 Million men between the ages of 15-25. So i think the downsides of lowering the drafting age outweigh the Benefits
They could have drafted women at the beginning of the conflict, but they chose not to and missed an opportunity. Drafting them now would look desperate
The greatest tragedy in all of this are the dead and injured. Everything has to be done, the economy. Replenish the military potential, but people with amputated limbs will not recover and those killed will not return to their families. People ask where are you, God? Well, the question is, where are you, man? G075
Arguably both sides would have lost this war. Russia is economically, militarily, and politically weakened. Ukraine will have faired somewhat better economically but its nation will he struggling for decades. Both countries also have had serious death tolls making it that much harder to recover in the long term.
Honestly I wish the metrics let you turn comments off so the bots could just not exist. but to be honest that should be googles problem... and they should do more.
It is but the when you think about it its quite sad actually. Why does Israel, with a huge military industrial base get more military aid then Ukraine does in 2 years just to bomb children in Gaza. If Israel wants to continue this war, why does the US need to pay for it? Meanwhile Ukraine is fighting a war of annihilation against a global power and the US does nothing.
I seriously doubt that Zelinsky will accept the total loss of all areas conquered by Russia, but he may at least accept giving up the Donbass region that has been in rebellion since 2014. Maybe even Crimea.
Its not a case of less support for Ukraine but more of a case of a lot of their top aid suppliers have gone through elections & leadership changes like the US, UK, EU & then Nato as well
For a special military operation that was meant to be done in less than a month and is about to reach its 3rd year, this is reaching Finland levels of Pyrrhic Victory for Russia.

@@tuongtang8974 they have 10x the manpower 10x the ammunition, 10x the guns. This is a war of attrition Russia can take a hell of a lot more than Ukraine. Even in Kursk they are losing in mobile warfare. It is not sustainable.
@@gen.tucker6024 literally what can you point to that is going in Ukraine’s favor. Even when they take land they lose it a month later look at Kursk. You look at wwi when it was static warfare and all of a sudden the line broke and the allies flooded Germany. You cannot win wars by handouts alone, you cannot win wars when you lose ground every single day, you cannot win wars when you are in a demographic crisis. Russia is in one too you know, they are nearing their swan song when they will not have enough able bodied men to fight. Russia is in decline so why not lose this battle to win the war.
They're not. It's what is called "a token force" and is largely there more for political purposes. The entire War has over 1 million troops involved. 12K of soldiers without experience and worse equipment and training than their Russian counterparts aren't going to tip the scales
It's straight up propaganda. NK troops are in Russia most likely just for training. Just as western soldiers train in their allied nations. Examples? Germans in uk Brits in Germany Brits in usa Poles in uk Poles in usa Poles in Germany Etc......
They need more time to enter the conflict. Need to learn training for modern war probabbly by wagners and also to learn at least B1 Russian and B2 English in order to communicate. That means at least 3 months of intensive focus of mind into prepareness. Out of 10 000 i dont think more than 5000 will see frontline. But who knows. Once you have created training program for NK troops maybe couple more dozens will come next year by which program will fasten for sure. Maybe even in NK next batch of units already are learning Russian language. Btw these are profesdional soldiers almost, not merceneries or recruiters... So most focus is on learning language and then modern warfare update... Ukraine is finished by the end of next year. West is depleted with ammo and their annual productions not only cant match war needs but also is streched over Israel Taiwan and NK and Yemen...

Finally what I've been waiting on.
12:42
South Africa gave up their nukes to.
They were lucky that they weren't bordering a major nuclear power, which would have claims on their territory
And how well did that turn out for them...
True, but South Africa is still the dominant power in the region even without nukes.
@@johnstuart4914honestly it was probably the right call for them.

It looks really bad for Ukraine..
Gonna be a crazy next episode Biden said yolo
If the United States abandons Ukraine then it is essentially abandoning long term peace in Europe
If you say so
If the US abandons Ukraine, it'll make every other democratic western nation lose some relation with the US.
You should do Spanish civil war version of this
I don't want to stop supporting Ukraine, but with the sheer level of fatigue with the war - both from those who are on the ground fighting it and those who are supplying it - I don't see this conflict ending in a Ukrainian victory no matter how much we may want it to.

So has Ukraine decided to decrease the draft age to 18 yet? 25-55 or whatever it is, isn't enough anymore. They need the manpower.
The long term consequences are too heavy to ignore.
With their demographic issues, losing the men between 18 and 25 would be a catastrophic blow in the long term.
The Ukrainian government doesn' t have the luxury of thinking only in the short term. It has to consider the post-war situation too.
Shows you don’t understand Ukrainian demographics. They’d buy themselves maybe 6-9 months but demographically doom their people into extinction.
@@JulianLopez-rt6kp it's women not men that limit demographics
According to Demographics of Ukraine there's roughly 9.6 million Men in Ukraine between the Ages of 25-54 and 2.5 Million men between the ages of 15-25. So i think the downsides of lowering the drafting age outweigh the Benefits
They could have drafted women at the beginning of the conflict, but they chose not to and missed an opportunity. Drafting them now would look desperate

It is but the when you think about it its quite sad actually. Why does Israel, with a huge military industrial base get more military aid then Ukraine does in 2 years just to bomb children in Gaza. They need more time to enter the conflict. Need to learn training for modern war probabbly by wagners and also to learn at least B1 Russian and B2 English in order to communicate. Once you have created training program for NK troops maybe couple more dozens will come next year by which program will fasten for sure.
