I love your videos, Luke. I'm training to get an HGV license so your videos and the wonderful way you talk about the job as you're doing it gives novices like myself a really great insight into what it's really like. Thank you for sharing your trucking with us. Keep them coming, please. Gerry 👍😊

Thank you Luke. Always enjoyed your videos. Do like the way you do them over 1-2 or 3 days. Thanks again. Take Care and Stay Safe and Safe Trucking. John Whitehouse
Great Vlog Luke I have the same problem with the mixer tipping on sites in housing estates it's understandable that they want the wheels clean so it doesn't make a mess on the new part of the estate but it does impact your tipping times 👍
Interesting on the license. In Queensland, Aussieland to drive a manual truck you have to do your license in a manual. I'm looking at getting my auto license as well so I can drive an automatic but can't find anyone local who has an automatic. They are so rare and after nearly 15 years driving I've never seen one that I know off but I'm getting old, nearly 50 and starting to have trouble driving an manual.
It used to be the law in the UK that you could only drive manual trucks if you took your test on a manual. If you took your truck test on an automatic, the truck category on your licence was restricted to automatics only. The law changed a few years ago. So long as you have taken one car, truck or bus test in a manual, all your car, truck and bus categories are valid for manual transmission vehicles unless there is a medical reason to restrict your licence to automatic only. You can remove an automatic only restriction from all categories by taking a test for a new category or retaking a test for a category you already hold in a manual. It is still common to take your car test in a manual, though an increasing proportion of UK cars are automatic, not least as electric and hybrid vehicles become more common. The change in the law was because almost all trucks and buses are now automatic.
@@DavidWood2 Wow so different. Most 98% of our trucks are manual. I did my car licence in a manual so I could also drive an auto. I'm driving a 12spd truck dropping down from an 18spd. and hoping to get an auto. But no-one has autos. So looking to move to the UK.
Great videos and content m8 . Can you consider a new camera angle ? Put the go pro behind you on the back window to give a us a nice view behind you and to the road and dashboard.. Cheers m8 👍👍
Hi, Luke, I think you should get trained for the high up truck to cart more eath I think that truck that you're in can cart more mud than an 8 wheeler tipper could?
I passed my Class 2 in a manual 4over4 DAF Cf in 2015, that thing was a brute to drive but when you clicked with it that was the hard bit over with. The only way to get along with it was gain a feel for the gearbox which to be frank was atrocious, don't even bother thinking you can drive it to your own speed and rhythem it's what that gearbox decided was comfy. I didn't even know you could just do it with an auto!!
At the end of the day, home builders are NOT paying enough for shifting waste. A RORO would cost £400 But a tipper in & out costs peanuts. Tipper companies need to work together to push prices up. Stop leaving hazard lights on LUKE really annoying.
Hi Luke great video my friend i hope you and your wonderful partner and your two girls are all and safe keep up with the great work that you do and keep them great videos coming has well i love watching your videos drive carefully and stay safe my friend
#LessLuke, I done my class 2 in a straight 6 speed truck back in 2007, we were taught to select 3rd for pulling away at lights etc. but 2nd on an incline while the bed is empty. only thing to be aware of is the power needed to pull away, so none of the pull 1 car length forward because the car infront moves forward a car length. so effectively once handbrake is applied never release until a green light and safe to pull away. another thing we were taught was to stop, select pulling off gear, and then wait for a green light with our foot on the clutch, even if the lights have just turned red.
@@EddieTruckingAdventures yeah I don't think age has anything to do with it mate. It's more down to the equipment on hand. I've never had to drive a fully manual truck as my employers have always had more modern trucks in their fleets. If you worked for a fern that had older trucks, or have family members that have driven older trucks and you were with them then perhaps you would know more. I didn't even have my licence until I was 26 and by that time manuals were pretty muche fazed out

bloody funny looks like it's only the wheel wash . Creating the need for a wheel wash . Water running back on site which you then have to drive through. A smart thinking bloke would have excess water running to a soak way . And not have the mud bath on site to run through . ? MUST BE SOME JOB CREATION SCHEME

It's the tail board banging on the back of the body. It happens as you drive forward and brake at the right time. It helps get any last stuff out 👌
