Hi Zack, you maybe won't read this message, me and my wife were being offered a rescued pitbull two weeks ago and I wasn't 100% sure about it. After seeing how you worked with George I got more confident about adopting her. She's been with us now 10 days, she's a complete different pit from day 1 and now she knows how to leave it and sit. She's taking big steps everyday with training, now I can't imagine how I could've say no to adopting her. Thank you for providing this amazing content to us. It helped ALOT.
Haha that's do funny because a friend was giving away her Sheprador (German shepherd mixed with a Labrador) and at first we were indecisive, but after watching these videos we got him! And he is the BEST 😍. On Friday it will be one month with him.

I was looking for your episode on Sunday until I realized that Ida was right on top of you . I am so glad everyone in your household is safe . This has been my favorite episode of the series so far, don't get me wrong they have all been great but I really have enjoyed just watching it all coming together for George. Watching him progress to what he has become and knowing that his training with you will help George become a great ambassador for the pit bull breed . I especially loved watching Inertia and George playing together and just being dogs . Thank you for sharing with all of us .
One of the best things I’ve ever learned from you was exercising the dog BEFORE walks! I reversed my thinking on that. I used to walk to exercise! However, he learns to behave much better when he is already a little tired. I can’t tell you how this small change has helped my puppy. He is so good now! And people comment on how well behaved he is!!!!!! Thank you!!! Bless you!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's not about making them tired, but about letting them strech, warm up and getting focused. So don't put them into a challenging situation right away but always give them some time to adapt and get rid of the excitement of being out in the world finally ... 😉❤️
I’m already crying and it’s not even the end of the series 😭😭😭😭 We love you George! He did such a good job walking with the leash and playing ball and just everything!
We survived Laura and Delta last year, but we're about an hour north of Lake Chares, we weren't dealing with storm surge and flooding. Prayers for ya'll and for your entire part of the state. Would love to see a quick statement about your situation.
Thinking of you and praying for your safety from Ida. You are an amazing dog trainer and I love that Bree is so involved, also your cute personal dogs.
This series has touched my heart so much. I fell in love with George. He reminds me of my one year old pit/husky mix. I was holding back tears watching this video. George will be missed but I also know he will be a blessing to his new home. 💙
Brought tears to my eyes to see George in a crate! His forever home will be so lucky to have him! Thanks for taking us on his journey, Zak and Bree. Hoping you and your pups are doing well after Ida.
I knew that for me coming to the end of this journey with Zak and George was going to be hard and it is. There is such a sense of finality, hearing Zak say "This is probably the last time I play frisbee with George brought tears to my eyes. On the one hand, you know George is going to be fine but it feels like losing a member of the family. You know you won't see them anymore and you are going to miss them. Just shows what a special dog George is that he can touch our hearts this way even if we have never met him in person.
I've been waiting so long for this happy ending!!!!!! PLEASE do another series featuring another bully mix! They are such rewarding dogs to own and train. Shelters are so saturated with bully, chow-chow, and rottie mixed breeds. Keep showing people these dogs DO make rewarding animals to work with and provide a home for. Toss a terrier in there too!
I hope you all are safe and well after that storm. Already getting teary about George leaving as he’s such a good boy. His transformation was wonderful to watch. Hard to say good bye. 🥲
Zak, your George training sessions has been eye opening, I will be more accepting of pit bulls in the future. George is such a good dog now with all your training.
I had thoroughly enjoyed watching your videos with George. I have a pit-lab mix about 18 months, who is a lovable good at times. He has done very well. I will miss seeing you work with George. Hope you all are safe after Ida
Zak, I know you touched on this before, that you have a two-dog rule in your house and that was a reason for you not keeping George, but I hope that either on the last episode or on a wrap-up one that you can go into a little more detail as to why you chose not to keep George. I know ever since this series started many of us, myself included have been hoping against hope that you would change your mind and keep him but I applaud you for sticking with the decision that is going to be best for you, Indie, and Inertia, and ultimately for all the other dogs, you will help along the way. I just know as much as people have fallen for George there will be a lot of broken hearts on that last day.
I can’t speak for Zak but as someone who fosters animals as well, the goal is adoption. We would LOVE to keep every dog but unfortunately that would not align with our goals to find them a good home and continue our mission to help other dogs find good homes as well. Ultimately, if we adopt them, we will not be able to continue to foster and help others.
Someone once said, that we can be the centre of the dogs universe but they deserve to be the centre of ours hence having more dogs that we can cope with (time, training, cuddles, space...) is not showing that dog love but being selfish :)
Prayers 🙏 for you and the family after Ida 😢 hope you’re all doing well. God bless you, Bree, your 4 legged family and everyone over there and I hope that things get back to normal soon.
A couple of pitties mauled an old man walking in houston area just within last two weeks. Law enforcement shot dog and it still kept coming and required a second shot before stopping. The ppl who decide on pits really need to remember that training is a MUST
I’m not going to say anything else about the training you know how I feel but we can’t tell people to attach long lines to their clothing it’s disaster waiting to happen and I hope you guys made out in the storm and get the lights back ASAP and maybe consider a series getting continuing education in what’s new in the field
Thinking of you after Ida. Are you all okay? Do you have a safe place to stay? Will be so sad to see George leave you all, but I'm sure you've got a dynamite home lined up for him. Looking forward to the next series! Please let us know what and when it will be, although understand that you may need to take a bit of a break due to Ida.
Its amazing how quiet the play between George and Inertia is! My two Pembroke Corgi boys wrestle like that, but there's ALWAYS a ton of vocalizations to go along with it. I suppose that's what you get when you take on herding breeds that aren't Border Collies.
I appreciate your comment about how positive training works better than force in the long term. Gonna miss George when he goes to his new home. Don't suppose you'd ever show the challenges of training a very small dog. Differences in temperament, certainly, and the whole having to bend over 1000 times during training.
We have had Great Danes and Wolfhounds for years and I was quite used to training dogs that size. Now we have an itty-bitty (7.8 lbs) and I can attest to the bending over 1,000 plus times! But I've not found any real "temperament" differences (between large and small dogs, specifically--between dogs, certainly, but I'm not sure size has anything to do with it). We now have two little ones (7.8 lbs and 10.4 lbs) and they are as different as night and day. Our little 7.8 lb guy is a streamroller--open for anything, charging happily through training, self-assured and confident. Our little 10.4 pound girl is much more tentative and much less confident and it takes her longer to "catch on". And I don't think it's because she isn't as smart. Just her personality makes her hold back and she's really unsure of what she should do and I have to take smaller steps with her and use a really high rate of reinforcement and for longer. Found that in the larger dogs too. Some just happily galloped through training, others required a much longer time and were much less confident. Again, I don't think "intelligence" had anything to do with this. Temperament was the issue, I think. I don't think "size" really matters here. Temperament does (in my opinion). And to some degree, you help determine temperament in how you socialize and treat a dog. Treat them like a helpless little ball of fluff that isn't responsible for their own actions and who can't learn anything, then that's exactly what you can get.
@@janhankins911 All true. We've had big dogs, too. I think the main difference is that these little ones aren't so treat motivated. Mine are a 6 lb. female and a potentially 5 pounder (he's still a puppy). You have to crumble the treats into microscopic bits, or you have to pause training while they take 3 minutes to eat a regular size treat. We also cannot put collars on them, due to trachea issues with small dogs, only harnesses. And both dogs oddly will not lure. You can't entice them with a treat in front of their noses. I wanted to teach them to jump up on my thighs, then my arms, but can't do that without luring. :) Our adult female is 1.5, and knows the basics, but it was a challenge. Although neither dog is a Chihuahua, I read that Chihuahuas found in shelters are notoriously difficult to train, perhaps due to poor socialization, and probably what you said, treating them like babies instead of training them like real dogs. That would be interesting, to have Zach train a shelter Chihuahua. He's the best!
The bath cracks me up. He is SO calm. omg. My GSD is convinced water sucks the souls out of dogs unless it's contained in their water bucket. He doesn't do puddles or pools and baths unleash demons into the world.
I really want to see you do one of these series with a small breed dog. Like a yorkie, terrier... etc. I have a small dog. Small dogs tend to be more stubborn and think they are a big dog. Lots of people have small dogs and most of the dog trainers on youtube train bigger dogs. Also a dog that doesn't like toys. Cus my dog doesnt. Just my opinion. Anyone else agree?
Really enjoy George...I confess that I have a new way of looking at pitbulls... I have never touched one... what a wonderful dog! I wish you did a series with a tiny chihuahua... Praying for you, Bree, Indie and beautiful Inertia...and your 😺!
Just adopted a Pit Bull puppy! Watching these videos to help train him. I have to train him differently than our other dog because of the different personalities, but he is doing well!
Hi from Playa del Carmen, Mexico! Thank you so much for your videos. You are an amazing trainer. I am using your techniques with my Pitbull Kai, that I just adopted and he is doing great.
It's like the last day of vacation -- I'm already missing George so much. I'm feeling sad to say Goodbye. 😢 My deepest and most profound hope is that his new human(s) will be frisbee players, too. Zak, oh my..... giving George kisses and saying, "Oh my god, I love you so much." 🤗💕 Oh my god, this is going to be tough on him and all of us.
I’ve watched a lot of your dog training videos and I’m going to miss Geroge more than any of the other dogs and I’m sure you are also what a wonderful dog he is
Another great video of watching you with George! You are right that he is a great dog but you are a very patient and wonderful trainer! I am feeling sad and happy at the prospects of him finding his forever home with a special someone! Looking forward to seeing you all on the road with George!
Just saw your Facebook posting about this new video. Didn't get a notification on it from RUclips, just wanted to mention that in case it's a wide spread issue that might impact viewership.
Nice! It's been so amazing to see George's transformation from shelter dog to house pet. You've done a great job with training him and he's a very smart boy! I've learned so much from watching this series for my own dog! George is really good in the tub! My dog hates it! I'm sure you have mixed feelings about taking George to his new home, but I'm trusting it's a good one. Also glad you are safe from the storm that hit there. The next episode is going to be so hard!
I'm going to really miss George and I've never met him! Thoughts are with you Zac and Bree as George starts his new life xx but what an amazing foundation you have given him!
@@kaclama most board and trains go an average of 2-3 weeks. Because Zak uses 90% 'positive' methodology it takes 5 months to train the dog. Nothing wrong with that, but not everyone's job involves having their dog next to them all day and a pocket full of treats. Regarding best dog trainer on RUclips I'd ask- by what measure? *I like this channel btw
Awe George😭😭😭. We are you going to miss him too. He is such a good boy. I love this series so much. My husband and I have 3 rescue dogs. We vowed to only rescue.
Sending prayers your way! 🙏🏼 As always thank you and your wife for all the hard work. I enjoyed how you made several videos training George. You always give your viewers a look into reality; it’s an important reminder training a dog and establishing a relationship with them takes time. Our English Cocker Spaniel is soooo FULL of energy EVERY DAY. 😅 Patience was key for us and we’ve been using your techniques. My husband and I have enjoyed seeing the journey with George. Great job! Keep up the awesome work because it’s been an every day help for us to make our pup happy + well behaved.
OHH my heart broke at the end:(( Will miss seeing George with you, inertia and your beautiful wife. Can't thank you guys enough for all the effort you put in to make this series!! I hope to be able to do the same for a few dogs in the near future❤️
Serious question -- please, please reply: Is that a 10' leash with a traffic handle? If so, what is the brand? This would suit my needs so well. Thanks! This has been such a wonderful series with George. I have learned so much that I can apply to my own work. Thank you!
You've done really great with the staffs type dog I've noticed From the beginning he was dragging you when you walked him but now he's not doing that as much you've done wonders with him what a good dog now he's become and I do hope you find a good forever home for him it will be nice for him god bless him
It’s so nice to see how far George has come. I’m working on Bandit. He’s does great, but when I take my little Yorkie, he acts like he hasn’t learned anything. Also, I’d like some help with barking. Mostly inside the house, when my husband comes home or anyone comes to the door. They both go crazy and feed off each other’s excitement. I’ve tried, but not much success. When he’s walking alone, he does really good with other dogs and people and not barking as much.
At 13:08 when talking about distance for signals... Of course, distance is a factor. But I also noticed you use your body language differently for the signals of sit depending on the distance. Closer you have your right leg more forward, which also naturally leans you forward. Back, your feet together and upper body is more upright. Just an observation :) Keep it up!
I've been watching this series from the beginning. Its impressive. I've rescued many dogs from the shelter and my question for you is how did you decide to pick George out of all the other dogs? What qualities did you see in him vs. The other dogs?
Great dogs playing session. He is doing great. Had to laugh when you said; "It's been all ups" Uuuhhmm...Did we forget about the baseball....LOL...jk... I think he finally is getting the hang on that one too. I love seeing him out in the fields his ears flying in the wind. For some of us who are older it reminded me of the "flying nuns" hat. ( I know that not the correct name for it.) Can't wait to see where George is going to go!
Well, you made me cry. Though I think George now has an amazing loving family & will be very spoiled & happy. I think what you guys are doing is amazing. And you're right, to be a good foster.......you fall in love.....but you can't possibly keep them all or you reach a point where you can no longer help. I also have a 2 dog rule.
I just got irrationally excited bc that skyline is where I live. I've had the occasional celebrity sighting and I'm cool, but if I ever see George I think I'll lose it!
What a brilliant video zak I so wish you was keeping him, hes come so far with you and I would love to see where he could be in a years time with you ;)
Hey Zak! I've been enjoying your training series. Didn't grow up with dogs and just adopted my first puppy ever this year, I learned everything about dogs and dog training from you. I'm a great fan of your work! As my rescue puppy grow, getting close to his one year birthday, I realized he has a lot of hunting dog traits in him. He likes to point, howl and smell everything in his path, a little be too much more than his friends with same age. I'd like to help him to thrive on those qualities while still being part of my normal daily lifes in civilization 😜 any tips you can throw my way? Like tricks would help him to use those qualities in a good and ontrolled way? A little more about us, we live in Colorado, we do a lot of hiking, camping and climbing trips together on weekends, he loves the outdoors just like I do.
First I hope you and your loved ones are safe and ok in this storm. I’ve been following your videos for a little while now after recently getting a GSD mixed puppy. I’ve already gotten some of the basic commands down and still working on everything else. He is a 3 month old puppy and I just started taking him for walks now that’s he’s fully vaccinated, but he doesn’t seem to enjoy them? We live on a busy Main Street and as we’re walking away from home he is constantly tugging me in the opposite direction back towards home or running up behind me and jumping on me. Then when I finally turn back to go home, he pull me the entire time, never having a loose leash. Is there a video you have that addresses this already ? Or anyone have any tips or advice ? Thanks in advance !
Hi Zack: I'm fairly new to your channel and loving it! You are helping me do a great job teaching our 4 month old Irish Red & White Setter who is very smart, but has a real stubborn streak. Apparently the breed is known for this. So far, with the help of you, Bailey can sit, shake a paw, give me 5, lie down, crawl, stay and working hard on leave it. It's so funny because she watches your videos with me. Her crate is in our livingroom and when she goes to sleep for the night I can't watch you because it keeps her awake. Not sure who's training Bailey, you or me:) Do you have a link or recommendation for one of the long leashes that you use for training? I believe they are about 10 ft. long. Amazon has so many of them, but it's hard to tell what quality there are. Thanks so much for sharing your talent!! Kind regards from Michele in Jarvis, Ontario
Brilliant idea: my BFF, a tiny petite woman, trained her dogs to leap up and bark aggressively whenever she shouted: "down boys!". Then, when she actually wants them to settle down, she says "Whisht boys" (an old Scots term for "quiet"). She shouts "down boys" when she answers the door and apologizes to the unwanted intruder - "I'm sorry, I can't control them when they're like this!" It never fails to drive off unwanted missionaries, door-to-door salesmen, and random big scary dudes begging at the door!
There are so many methods of training a dog but I really think the method that Zak follows will stick with a dog till the end. I am getting my first puppy this sunday ❤ I hope I will be able to use your techniques.
I would love to see a video of you meeting with Cesar Millan at the Dog Psychology Center, you two are my favorite dog trainers to watch and would love to see what you to could talk about concerning training dogs

Hey Zak! Hope you and Bree are doing okay after the hurricane! ❤sending you my best wishes from Texas!
Really enjoy George...I confess that I have a new way of looking at pitbulls... I have never touched one... what a wonderful dog!
I wish you did a series with a tiny chihuahua...
Praying for you, Bree, Indie and beautiful Inertia...and your 😺!
so glad he is getting a forever home, but sad to see him leave!!
Omg this great series gets more and more emotional as each episode passes by even though I watching remotely :)
Go George go! Can't wait to see you find your forever home!
Just adopted a Pit Bull puppy! Watching these videos to help train him. I have to train him differently than our other dog because of the different personalities, but he is doing well!
I LOVE how George’s ears look a bit like he might take off in the wind
I love this series, George is brilliant 🌟
Hi from Playa del Carmen, Mexico! Thank you so much for your videos. You are an amazing trainer. I am using your techniques with my Pitbull Kai, that I just adopted and he is doing great.
Lately I’ve been watching only your videos I’m so obsessed with dogs and your channel
This series is honestly the best. Thanks so much Zak, and George! This has also helped my training knowledge. Thank you!!
Yay! So glad to see this video go up. I hope you guys are doing alright! =)
He is honestly a perfect dog already❣️
He has learned so much so fast! He will eventually get every trick 💯 in no time. No doubt about it.
It's like the last day of vacation -- I'm already missing George so much. I'm feeling sad to say Goodbye. 😢 My deepest and most profound hope is that his new human(s) will be frisbee players, too. Zak, oh my..... giving George kisses and saying, "Oh my god, I love you so much." 🤗💕 Oh my god, this is going to be tough on him and all of us.
sad
I hope you all are well after the storm you had on the area ❤
I’ve watched a lot of your dog training videos and I’m going to miss Geroge more than any of the other dogs and I’m sure you are also what a wonderful dog he is
Are you guys okay with Ida?!? Hope you are safe
@@chuckeycheese3215 the hurricane that passed on top of them
Another great video of watching you with George!
I didn't get one , too .
Best dog trainer on RUclips
Not even close
He's been trying to get this dog right for months
I agree he is amazing
@@bubbag8895 ...How long do you think it takes to train a dog?
@@kaclama most board and trains go an average of 2-3 weeks. Because Zak uses 90% 'positive' methodology it takes 5 months to train the dog. Nothing wrong with that, but not everyone's job involves having their dog next to them all day and a pocket full of treats.
Regarding best dog trainer on RUclips I'd ask- by what measure? *I like this channel btw
Love watching Inertia and George play! And 🔥🔥🔥 sneakers!🤩🐶
Awe George😭😭😭. We are you going to miss him too. He is such a good boy. I love this series so much. My husband and I have 3 rescue dogs. We vowed to only rescue.
I have been watching your Channel for a few months now and I'm very confident in getting my Dog now!.Thank you!
"We just walked past a dead snake, that was nice." 😂
OHH my heart broke at the end:(( Will miss seeing George with you, inertia and your beautiful wife. Can't thank you guys enough for all the effort you put in to make this series!! I hope to be able to do the same for a few dogs in the near future❤️
upset
The entire series could have been about my own dog. So many similarities. I found the entire series very enlightening.
Thanks so much Zak, you don't have an idea how much your videos have helped me with my super energetic goldador.
Serious question -- please, please reply: Is that a 10' leash with a traffic handle? If so, what is the brand? This would suit my needs so well. Thanks!
This has been such a wonderful series with George. I have learned so much that I can apply to my own work. Thank you!
Been so worried about you guys with the storm. Hope all is well and you have very little damage
This series was amazing, thank you so much for recording it!
You've done really great with the staffs type dog I've noticed From the beginning he was dragging you when you walked him but now he's not doing that as much you've done wonders with him what a good dog now he's become and I do hope you find a good forever home for him it will be nice for him god bless him
I loved this series you are so good at training I can’t Believe it George will have a lucky owner
I'm not crying at the idea of saying goodbye to George at all 😭😭😭
Hope everyone is safe and well
I love it when Nom Nom sponsors so I can see Inertia eating by the table like the people she is :D
Hope y’all are safe…was wondering why there wasn’t a video on Sunday & then realized you guys were in the path Ida.
So love this dog! Wonderful series. Have a happy life George.
i cant believe i just watched a cesar millan ad on a zak george video.
great video tho zak!!!
“Just walked past a dead snake. . . That was nice” lmaoooo
zak gave a me a reason to get another dog recently
I agree with u about leaving any of my dogs toys out. I never do. Its a good thing to not to leave them out
Great dogs playing session.
I think the 'hat' was called a wimple. 🤔🙏
Oh my gosh! I'd forgotten about that show! And I had to google it, because you piqued my curiosity. According to Google, it's a cornette.
I love your videos so much❤️
George is such a good dog
I just got irrationally excited bc that skyline is where I live. I've had the occasional celebrity sighting and I'm cool, but if I ever see George I think I'll lose it!
What a brilliant video zak I so wish you was keeping him, hes come so far with you and I would love to see where he could be in a years time with you ;)
yay george you are doing amazing little guy
i really wish George's journey to get adopted would just be a roundabout drive and end back up at Zak's house
upset to hear George gone
I'm going to miss seeing George on here 😭💗
Hope y'all are okay after the hurricane!
Inertia is SUCH a dainty eater!
I would love to see a video of you meeting with Cesar Millan at the Dog Psychology Center, you two are my favorite dog trainers to watch and would love to see what you to could talk about concerning training dogs
I believe that they both are very very different in terms of training methods. I might be wrong though.
Nice! This comes in handy very much!
Kee him😭 I can’t imagine him living elsewhere!! Love you George
I like how Zak is a sneaker guy.
How do you start to train a dog not to bark love your channel
I’m really going to miss these video’s soooo much… I have a female pit that’s almost identical to George… I can’t imagine how heartbroken all of you are going to be…🥲💜💜💜💜💜
Has Inertia been back with that huge dog (Irish wolfhound I think?) she couldn't quite dare to play with as a pup?
