    As others said: I'm using an old mitt I don't want to let on the paint anymore. It's much easier to handle than a cloth.

    I'm someone that hates cleaning wheels. Nonetheless, i use a vikan, boars hair and the DF tyre brush, along with a mitt and the EZ or Vikan barrel brush, as well as a bucket of shampoo, a pressure washer, surfex and an IK foamer..... It was exhausting just to list it 😅

    Yessss sir, I've been doing something like this for a while, if I neglect the car and the wheels really get bad then sure, I go for brushes, iron remover, and so on. But if I manage to keep up all I need is a few liters of water a capfull of rinseless wash and a mitt or a towel. Easy, fast and as an extra I don't get my face covered in brake crap 🤣

    My favorite tools for wheel cleaning are, the PU infused cloth from in2d, same idea, as yours, but the Pu doesn;t soak up as much dirt and last longer. i use the EZ detail wheel brushes, they are just so good and have lasted me a very long time now and still look brand new. i also use the dirt lock turbne grit guard and the dirt wall just so I can get a really good scrub at the brushes. I've switch to the dirt lock as i feel it traps dirt a lot better than any other one I've used so far

    The one thing I found a problem was cleaning wheels is the heat shields around the brakes they used to chew up my wheel woolies like no tmw. As they were descent ones it was expensive to replace them so bought the EZ barrel brush and use this instead as it goes between the brakes and heat shields with ease and no chance of being chewed up.

    Dave this is a good alternative method to clean wheels. I had a client call and asked if I used a wired wheel brush since the previous detailer used one and the plastic tip was missing. It scratched his rims on the exterior spokes and in the wheel barrel and he had to reapir them since the detailer wasn't insured. It is a bit of a work but if you use the right mix of chemicals a degreaser and a brake cleaner like P&S let it dwell it works. You mentioned the platic tip and some detailers forget that if it is missing you might as well throw it away since there is a chance it can damage the rims. Have a great day and stay warm!

    • @epicautomotivedetailing
      @epicautomotivedetailing  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah it's so easy to scratch with those brushes once the tip has gone. Wheel woolies have been the best for me so far but the valet pro brushes have also been pretty epic

    buy 1l APC dilute it 10% in a hand sprayer, thats is enough for 10l of cleaner, dont rinse, just spray the wheels and arches wait 3 min, blast with power washer, and then use 2 diffrent brushes, one for tire and arches and one for rims. that is it 10min all 4 corners done. use iron remover few times a year... dont over complicate.

    Funnily enough, this is similar to what I do: I use a microfibre noodle glove. Allows me to get my fingers into all the nooks and crannies really easily and, of course, it never touches the floor. Was just a few quid from Halfrauds. For the barrels I use the EZ brush: Does a great job whilst fitting in the tiniest of gaps.

    I have been using a "wheels only" meguiars wash mitt on my wheels for donkeys years. Same as this but better as it doesn't fall off your hand and you don't have to "grip" it... No need for brushes if the wheels are well protected and looked after too!
