Flat off the wheel hub mount areas and the cars hubs with a bit of fine grit paper. Clean off and smear on a thin coat of copper grease. 🙂👍 Extra Pro. A lot of the corrosion on wheels, wheel hubs, brake callipers is from wheel cleaning chemical residues. Too much caustic chemicals. Bilt Hamber Surfex HD degreaser APC has good anti corrosion inhibitors. Great product for all automotive areas. 🙂👍
exactly my thought. Actually first a good rinse would not hurt. Rinse/degreaser/rinse/tar-remover/rinse/iron-remover/rinse/ironremoverwithbrush/rinse/gyeontirecleaner/gyeontireexpress
Tip: do an initial rinse of the wheels to get off the loose dirt and grime before hitting it with the iron remover. Iron remover could've taken off anything underneath the grime.
Maybe for your situation, but not for every situation. Mine were 2 to 3x worse than these wheels, and I've washed them a dozen times with various chemicals, lots of brush agitation, and have yet to find the "magic bullet". Pretty sure, that once the iron/brake dust has been allowed to remain on the wheels long enough, there is no bringing them back without refinishing the wheel.
Just curious....why use the small detail brush when you could use a powered drill and cone brush to get the bigger surface cleaner quicker with less effort and the medium nylon bristles dont scratch most surfaces
I do have to say its nice to see someone do this to wheels that are extremely dirty and not some wheels that get washed every week. I do agree with another comment that a hosing or pressure washing could have been done before the iron remover I don't think its a big deal.
Wrong order of products IMO. Wasting expensive iron remover first. Use the degreaser on all the wheel and tyre first. Makes the iron remover far more effective on the cleaner wheel and saves product.
I just finish clean my winter rims/tires ... I thought my set were bad ... I used wheel cleaner and dawn soap ... applied turtle wax seal and shine after. Great video ... take care brother!!
So I had an issue where a shop used an imperial socket to remove my metric lug nut.... totally pooching the edges of the nut. Took it to a different shop to get this F up fixed. This entailed drilling off the head of the nut until the wheel could come off, then remove the stud from my hub. In the process, a LOT of oil was used and it stained my polished Audi RS6 Fat Five rim. I've tried a lot of cleaners and degreasers and nothing seems to work. I'm looking to try oven cleaner as a last resort. Any other suggestions to bring the shine back to this polished rim?

cruzzindodge sure it will! You can use some degreaser/wheel cleaner , and some iron remover. You will also need a softer brush or it’ll scratch the finish of ur wheels.

Jason Deal thanks for watching man! But yes to clay bar ! I just didn’t want to use it on this wheels since it’s just my daily! And sadly I don’t have any tar remover at that time.

@@SETProtectiveFilms nice! Sorry I misread your original response as you don't use a tar remover. I'm sure those you mentioned work just as good as tar x. I was actually wanting to try Stoners as it's cheaper than tar x
Fore those who wants to totally rim restore, you can sandpaper with high stone ratio 5000 10000 ,then you can get rid of these stains from the inside of the rim, try out first on rim you have , you can get more money for that, if the Customer wants a restore, maybe for sell this car
Pretty nasty, neglected wheel barrels. Unfortunately, mine are even worse. Original/previous owners ignored mine for probably 14yrs. That iron/brake dust can permanently damage the wheel finishes when it's allowed to remain on wheel surfaces.
The wheels needs to get refinish . And Might as well get all the iron remover stay there and use all the cleaning power it has. If it’s a better wheels of course we’ll wash it a diff way. Thanks for watching 🙏

Seems right
Tar remover before iron remover as iron particles could be hidden under the tar spots

Hey, what is the name of the stands that you put under the car to hold it up?
those are called jack stands
Ok thanks.
Quick question, can you use conventional paste car wax on your wheels? I mean, some wheels are clear coated…?
A good tool to get into the crevices on the back would be a dremel tool with a softer tip :)
Thanks Allan !
I did not see you’re putting chocks to the opposite wheels, for safety measures
some 2x4 is all I have haha
