G'day Marty. My uncle had a real Commer van similar to this one, and I think the 'reversing light' on the back is the petrol filler cap. Keep up the good work. Am I a WINNER ?
WD40 have an extra range - one of which is a faster penetrating version. I've only used it on actual cars, but it definitely works better then the regular stuff.
WINNER This would be an amazing souvenir for all the hours of MMM I've watched for the past couple years. What an amazing little model and a prime example the simplicity of Matchbox die-cast cars before they were forced to compete with Mattel's Hot Wheels line.

When you start as a beginner, you'll can't always be a "WINNER", but working hard and evolving your techniques certainly helps you reach that goal. That's my own personal experience with building model cars.

I found one like this on Ebay. Restored complete with mini breeze blocks and other stuff in the back of it. There is even a ladder. It really is a lovely custom restoration.

Gray Paul ....the Commer vans were made by a different manufacturer. They were the commercial side of the Rootes group (later Chrysler ) 🙂
It is a fuel filler. I found a pic on Google image search. Am I a Winner

I've found it takes more than one application when the rust is thick but it's still excellent stuff.
