MATCHBOX Restoration 37 Coca Cola lorry

- This seemingly simple makeover had a whole load of unique complications. After stripping the thick paint off it was apparent that this model needed some filler and fixing. I used another similar model to match the paint color and also robbed it of it's wheels to make this one complete. Kevin, again, is a thorn in my side, making it impossible for me to make an honest living!

Good morning! Thank you for the video rebuild, Mr. Marty. Most folk would not give that poor, beaten up toy a second look but you have polished it up and revealed the Gem that was hidden by the wear of Time.
Its wonderful to see you wearing rubbergloves. Good role model 👍
Excellent as always Marty.
Hello there.
@@BigLisaFan Howdy from Texas.
Nicely done, Sir. The body repair work was very clean indeed.
Beautiful! Loved it!
Great makeover Marty! Nice work. Thank you.👍🏼🤘🏼😎
Came out fantastic!
Great restoration
👍🏆🚚 congratulations 😀
EXCELLENT JOB MARTY ☆☆☆☆☆
Very nice restoration.
Very nice, what a treat to sit back, relax with a cuppa, some mint slice biscuits watch and this vid after a very busy sunday. That orange/red colour really makes the coca-cola signs POP. excellent work Marty.
Another excellent restoration! That Coke truck is one of my favorites. Glad you rescued it
Well done, sir. Always a pleasure to see you work your magic.
Nice job Marty. Good repair on the cab.
Fantastic work, your attention to detail is inspiring! Such a simple model but one of the best - their older diecast are so much better...
Very nice! Some of your best work yet.
The 'coke powered' belch is the giveaway that Kevin is draining his employee discount to the max! Love these older models, they have a timelessness to them that hints of older days and many owners through several generations.
That satin black is such a great looking color for the base! Nice work, Marty!
Superb job!
Great work, greetings from Costa Rica, greetings to Kevin
Beauty Marty!
one of my favorites. nice job
Nice Job! Good tip with the super glue. Watching from Chicago Illinois USA
Looks better than new!
Simple but very rewarding restoration.
Brilliant makeover Marty 😁
Very snappy Marty,my grandson would love one of those in his collection as he is quite fond of Coca Cola.
Fabulous once again!
really satisfying!!
Beautiful job, Marty!
I love these simple models
You should get a cheap tooth cleaning "water pik" and use it like a pressure washer. They're what I would use to "pressure wash" my older models to get the dust off without rubbing!
Aaah! A fresh cup of Coffee and a new Marty video. Life is good
I hear ya!
Awesome awesome awesome 👍
😂
Great restoration again this time, Marty! You are the best.
But try to do something about Kevin's digestion!
Marty and I did not plan to do the same casting . . . Great minds think alike? I started "baking" paint earlier this year and it works great! Nice job Sir Martin! ⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️
I know what you mean about baking the paint! - Wished I knew about this earlier. It sure does speed things up and I have also said goodbye to fingerprints on the finished models which always used to p##s me off when viewing the highly magnified final reveal!
@@MartysMatchboxMakeovers A fingerprint led to my purchase of a toaster oven . . . not unlike yours!
Great vid. You must have a sizeable collection of superbly restored models by now. Any chance you could do a video showing them all in your display case - it would be nice to see them all. Just a suggestion.
Very nice indeed as the colors match my logo. 😉
Thanx for sharing this, Marty. I am always amazed at your craftmanship!
Best regards from Germany,
Volker
Beautiful. Always enjoy your videos
Lovely job Marty ,as always
I've been watching your channel for at least three or four years now and I just figured something out you are Kevin! 😁
Those old Lesney casts, I swear, man, they're beautiful.
Very nice Marty! Your strict commitment to original condition is great, I really appreciate it! But every now & then, let yourself get a little crazy & try a custom! I'd love to see where your creativity would go! The "Mr. Bean" car project was equally enjoyable! Thank you for the entertainment! 😊
Lots of pitting to deal with on this seemingly straightforward model. Came out very well in the end. The decals on the sides of the rear looked awkward to do. Proper job!
This is yet another cracking good restoration, by the way! I remember playing with so many of your subjects as a child and it brings back so many happy memories seeing these models being brought back to good health.
Another fine rescue restoration.
I thought that casting had seen its better days after you stripped it but you proved me wrong, looks like better days are still ahead.
Thanks for sharing

Yay!! 11:30 at night and there's a new MM video. Sleep can wait!
Kiwi, bro?
When I can't fall asleep, I find one of Marty's videos. They are just so wonderfully SOOTHING.
Marty, have you ever considered offering your voice to the narration of videos for children? Seriously.
@@TheBodgybrothers Nope. Idaho, United States.
Ditto, 2 A.M. Sunday here. Well done Marty. Regards to all. Tom USA
Thanks Mate. Greetings back from northern Germany 👍😁👍😁👍
I had this as a kid... Completely forgot about it until I saw this video. Funny thing memory. Cheers for the memory fix.
It’s a good day when the king of matchbox restorations post a video
Absolutely 👍😁
A perfect Day i startet with Marty and a Cup of Coffee 👍😇☕🚚
Great Work Marty and Greetings from the Swabian Mountains near Ulm

KEVIN!! (Shakes fist at camera!)
Thank you Marty !!!. Happy holidays to you and your family !.
An awful dark gray sunday morning at the northsea-shore. But.... what's that? A new MMM video. Where's my cup of coffee? Yep, I've got it. First a like and now, let's enjoy it.....😁☕
Awesome work, Mate. All three of them turned out brilliant. Once again, well done Marty 👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing this little bit of sunshine and best regards to You, Julie and the whole gang behind the camera. And, of course KEVIN🐨 👍👍👍😁
Excellent! Do love a back to basics old school model from time to time! Congrats on a prime restoration
One of my 1st and favorite cars . Father gave me the 37 18 c Bulldozer with man and BEA coach in the early 1960s. The BEA coach was perfect for our N gage train set
This was another great tutorial! I liked the history of the models and the other two #37's you restored were as good as this one. They all three look like Lesney just made them. There were a lot of very good tips and techniques in this as well and I will certainly watch this again. Thanks for all of your effort in making these tutorials.
You are welcome John, I am so glad to hear that you get some ideas from my videos.
Great job and glad to see Kevin back. He's always causing trouble.
Great job!
Very nicely done. Keep up the good work.
fantastic video as always :)
So clever and well spoken - thx Marty
Brilliant work👍🏼
Isn't it exiting to be the first one to see in the Modell since it was manufactured in England ;-)
My goodness! I have one of these Coca Cola trucks in my closet. I’ve never seen another one. Excellent restoration-I’ll have to dig mine out and see how beat up it is. :)
My new favourite channel. This is awesome.
Nice job, came out really good
Another great video marty
Happy memories as I worked for C W S soft drinks in the U K.The little Commer Carrier truck was Ideal for pop delivery door to door. Enjoyed the drive and comfort in the cab.
Wow! excellent!
Love it. Great job Marty!
Great job👍
As usual Marty, a very informative restro. Beautifully done Coke Cola truck.
Something to watch tonight
Always a pleasure to see Kev. Great job on this model, Marty! Always a pleasure to watch.
Once again, Kevin is up to his old tricks.
Nice job on this one Marty. I can never get the super glue to sand that well. Thanks!
I was driving down the road with my wife when suddenly we received a glancing blow from a van being driven by a Koala bear.
I wound down the window and shouted, “You clipped us!”
“No thanks" the Koala shouted back.
"I’ve already eaten."
Groan!
Lololol!! It took me a couple of seconds to get it and then I wet myself.
Oh for Petes sake!
The koala-ty of the puns around here, I tell you ...
Okay, I'm a pretty witty and funny guy, but you'll have to call me stupid because I still don't get it.
Nice job Marty!
it looks amazing mate
Looks excellent well done!
Turned out sweet, excellent job Marty:)
It wouldn't be an MMM video without Kevin ! Nice work !
Another classic.
Another great makeover, Marty. Enjoyed seeing some of your previous work.
Well done Marty, an excellent restoration of this very cute little model!!.
Great job as usual marty ! I don't think it will be long before you get 125k subs, good job mate.
Wow. It looks brand new mate. Superb job and kevin was being cheeky as usual lol
Hello Marty good tip with glue and baking powder thanks
Love these little trucks. Cathartic view, as usual. Thank you!
Phew! A Coca-Cola and eucalyptus burp - that cannot be pleasant for Marty !
:(
Very good restoration friend, I look good, greetings
Another nice job.
Bad Kevin!🐨 Lovely restoration. Orange though on a Coke truck? What were they thinking? Dopes. 😁
Lovely stuff! Love seeing the whole range of these trucks. No doubt the model missing the crates has been subject to Koala interference.
Beautiful work like always, and Kevin behave that's awesome .Greetings from Allentown Pennsylvania USA
Hi Marty, great resto as normal.
Just a suggestion, when you mix the paint why not utilize an empty paint bottle. That way you can keep the left over paint to use if you do another model the same.
I rinse them out with all purpose thinners, then wash with soapy water and take the labels off.
Keep up the good work.
Wayne Prowse . Sounds good to me.
Marty having now caught the Matchbox bug the 37a was my very first restoration and boy was it hard getting the paint out from around the tops of the crates but it came good in the end. So thank you for opening up a new and interesting hobby. Now I'm Grasshopper you are Master!
Marty, as always a fantastic restoration on the old Coke wagon.
You always make them look like new !
Very nice and detailed restorations marty good job well done again 👍
A very enjoyable series of videos to watch, well done Marty
