I'm so glad you're back Marty. I started watching you (on a different account I used to have) since the beginning. I never had any interest in these Matchbox cars, and I still don't have interest, however I watch all of your videos because of the positive energy and happiness that exudes from you. I've been through some really rough patches over the years, and right now is one of my worst - but when I watch your videos, I forget about it, and I am reminded there are still good people and good things left in this world. With each Matchbox car you restore, it begins with a dirty rotten hunk of metal and plastic. However, as you take it apart with so much care and finesse, then overcome the challenges, and bring it back to life with the fine details, it exhibits that if we put our minds to something, large or small, we can transform anything from busted up and broken, into something that is shiny and vibrant like it once was. The Kevin skits are an added moment of laughter that is the icing on the cake when you do include the skits. Thank you for sharing your hobby with us, and inspiring others to find a productive hobby as well. May God bless you and your family with comfort, serenity, and happiness. Cheers from Maine, USA. :)
Well done Marty what a great restoration, Kevin as a new muscle car to tear up the motor way,the police haven't a chance to catch him. Just a question which as been budding me seeing that this a 14d, was there a 14, 14a, 14b and a 14c?
There is an iso grifo built 1966 for sale on line. Asking price £285,000. Designed and manufactured by Italian ISO Autoveicoli. All came with American power trains. Thus the big V8s, such as the 340HP Chevrolet 327 v-8 with 4 speed transmission.Only 413 iso griftos were ever built. Make that 414 now Marty has built one.
What a hot mess that was, and what a beautiful result. 10/10 Marty! Also, that number plate means the car would have been registered between 1 August 1967 and 31 July 1968. The HY part means it would have been registered in Bristol, which is a bit unusual as most plates Lesney cast were from the east London and Hackney areas (where the factory was located). Unlikely that it was ever a real plate though. Less likely that it was fitted to an Iso Grifo with a tow hook! 😂
Iso Grifo's are absolutely gorgeous cars. Forget the 5.4 litre engine; some have a 7 litre engine in it... and they sound devine. There is one in the Netherlands that regularly participates in historic races... and it's yellow. A true beast. And this one came out rather nice. That metallic blue, while lighter than the original, certainly feels like a colour Matchbox used a lot in the late '60s/ early 70s.
Marty, the number plate RHY 72F is known as a suffix registration, as the numbers come after the letters. The HY suggests this car would have been registered in Bristol. The F at the end would put the registration between August 1967 and July 1968.

I had a quick look on the DVLA site but no dice. I wonder if these were made up randomly or if some are real and even more so are some still live on vehicles?
Almost all were never released on real vehicles, I presume Lesney checked with the DVLA as to what they could use. There are a couple of exceptions that were issued to 1/1 scale cars however
@28:23 -- DON'T. LET. THE KOALA. NEAR THIS CAR!!!! Seriously, nice restoration. It definitely looks better than it did before! Excellent color choice! The AutoSol really did its job polishing the undercarriage metal, too. Wonderful stuff! I've got a tube of AutoSol myself that I've used about 3 times. Almost never fails! (It's an international polisher. They sell it in the States, too!)
What a surprise to see your Iso Grifo in front of Roy’s Motel in Amboy, California! It’s a genuine US Route 66 treasure in the Mojave Desert not far from where I live. Another fantastic job, Marty.
Wonderful restoration of the favorite car of my youth. I well remember poring over issues of Road & Track magazine of the time that featured road tests of the Grifo. It's worth noting that the Iso Grifo was originally designed and built by Giotto Bizzarrini winning the large displacement GT class at Le Mans in 1964 and 1965. To top it off, for at least one of those years, the race car was driven cross country from the factory to the race. In both years, the Iso Grifos were the fastest cars down the Mulsanne Straight. Thank you Marty!
That was a great makeover!! And the color is superb! You mentioned a hitch on a sports car being a little strange, Growing up I had a neighbor that owned a nice Corvette with a hitch. He owned a boat. Forever chasing the girls! Thanks Marty! Really like your videos!
You are the man that got me into mending my hot wheels. I have had many off-brand cars with wonky axles that i fixed by moving them to their axle holder with a toothpick 😅
Good model in a great color! Always a treat watching you make the worn old junkers into showroom treasures. Hope you can continue to enjoy your hobby for many more years!
What!!!! CBR 1000??? YOUR ONE KOOL DUDE 😎 I had the 1985 v-65 Magna 1100! The second fastest up right bike in its time . The bike drove itself! Something to the fact of 171 mph. I got it up to 153, in Idaho , before I could not see because the wind under my glasses.😊. Got me a Yamaha trail bike for the Hatfield and McCoy trails here in West Virginia,USA
What a great choice of car to make over. The Iso Grifo is one of the most beautiful cars ever made and you done it justice Mr Marty Sir. Keep them coming. Hello to Miss Julie and Mr Kevin also.
Thank you for yet another entertaining Matchbox Makeover. I love watching how you remake Matchbox cars. I played with them as a kid. Keep up the good work.
This was my favourite matchbox to play with when I was little and I still have it. Great restore, Marty. Funnily enough, I actually think the matchbox version of this car is far more attractive than the real life car itself. Something about the headlights on the real car being too big and googly making the vehicle look odd. The smaller double headlights on the matchbox version make the car look much better, IMHO. 😉
Hi Marty, Yes a fantastic transformation, love the colour, ( thank god that Bear 🐻 didn't get his hands on it 😅) till the next time, All the best Brian 😅
If you were a 16 year old that read Road & Track waaay back then, you drooled over the ISO - I did. It was the era of the Shelby 427 Cobras, 427 Vettes, Hemi Dodges, AMC's AMX all hot
It is so awesome to see you dropping videos again your skills are amazing and I’m starting to look forward to seeing your videos I missed you welcome back you are the best
I still have my Iso Grifo in its' box ! Superfast version with a lovely solid sky blue paint. I was never a fan of Superfast. They seemed weak and didn't leave tread marks. #14 also came with steering too. I can't remember if was a lean to turn or the lever on the side. The prototype Iso Grifo was a very low volume production, so not many around to begin with. Great looking car though. Another entertaining vid Marty.
Hell yeah, it’s been 6 years and I still watch this man, love from the U.S.A!!!

Thanks for posting Nat, that brought a tear to my eye! - Great to hear that I can lift you up when you feel down. All the best, Marty.

Even though I haven’t touched a Matchbox in decades, I could watch your video for an hour. Even with your mangled thumbnail.
We're so glad to have you back Marty. Things weren't the same around here.
Cheers from Boston Massachusetts USA.

…Till- 1972.From 72-74 they used the Ford Cobrajet-Engine after Differences about the Prices.
Another beautiful restoration, well done Sir
The price for the car back in the 1960’s was around $14,000 which was very expensive at the time.
What a hot mess that was, and what a beautiful result. 10/10 Marty!

MMM is one of my favorite things about RUclips. I could (and have) watch these all day.
Marty, you have actually inspired me to want to restore old matchbox cars now thank you😊
You're very welcome Dan, I'm so glad you were inspired!
That turned out fantastic! The tires, the paint. Spot on!
Iso Grifo's are absolutely gorgeous cars. Forget the 5.4 litre engine; some have a 7 litre engine in it... and they sound devine. There is one in the Netherlands that regularly participates in historic races... and it's yellow. A true beast.

You're spoiling us lately, thanks!
Loved the restoration, color was perfect. The "reveal" lines of the door / frame were perfect. Matchbox and Marty does it again.
The original blue was darker.

Those air ducts are for brake cooling! Nice work, That paint looks super!
Open the doors when assembling too mate, that was how the factory did it. Superb work mate as usual

The thin finish really shows the details. It never looked this good when new!

Once again,Marty you've taken a well loved and well used model and brought it back to a beautiful state. Bravo!
A nice cup of morning Joe on the weekend in NY while watching a MMM, good times
So good to see you making videos again Marty! Thanks for the fun. 😊👍👍
My grandfather had a 1963 Chevrolet Impala in that same shade of blue. A magnificent restoration.
That metallic Blue is beautiful, a great restoration Marty.

Great job as always Marty, the tool makers at matchbox were definitely on top of their game when they created this amazing little masterpiece.
Well done, Marty. You saved another little car from the bin and it looks stunning!
Beautiful work! Especially the painting.👍
That’s a great metallic blue!
That was a great makeover!! And the color is superb! You mentioned a hitch on a sports car being a little strange, Growing up I had a neighbor that owned a nice Corvette with a hitch. He owned a boat. Forever chasing the girls! Thanks Marty! Really like your videos!
My favourite Matchbox car and my first Superfast car. Love the restoration on this one.
Right after I made my coffee I found this video. Great way to start my Saturday.
That’s one of your best makeovers yet Marty - fantastic result!
Great job Marty.
Used to watch these videos about 6 years ago..wow time flies
This was one of my favourite Matchboxes. Had it as a regular model AND as a Superfast version. Mahalo for restoring this one.
What an amazing restoration Marty.
I thought that model was beyond saving , the end result looked like brand new ❤.
Nice restoration Marty totally transformed it 🎉
You are the man that got me into mending my hot wheels. I have had many off-brand cars with wonky axles that i fixed by moving them to their axle holder with a toothpick 😅
Another winner! Thank you, Marty.

So awesome you did this, Iso Grifo . I've loved this car and the miniature ever since Matchbox came out with it. Thanks again.
Lovely job on this one Marty! The third best looking car in the world... (GT40 and Lamborghini Miura are the other two - all done by Matchbox 😊)
Lovely to see a sporty little number on the channel! Great work Marty
Stunning restoration Marty , you did a great job 👍
Gorgeous paint job.
Love to see you back, Regards from Poland
I still have my Matchbox Iso Griffo. It's well played with. Maybe one day I'll give it a Marty style restoration. Great video
Wow, did it ever turn out so good, Marty! Brilliant!
Beautiful job, Marty!! That thing was a proper wreck.
What a beauty! Only thing better is visualizing Marty piloting a Repsol at speed!
Got some of that tamiya grey in your beard!!
Love what you teach us so thank you and watch out for Kevin.
Marty is a classic...

First, I click the like button...... then, I watch the video!
Same, and then at the end I click it again👍
@@SeorkMaxx I'm sure you don't do that, because if you "click it again" then you have just erased your first click! But I get what you meant to say!
Wow, the restorations are coming out thick and fast now :)
What a superb little model. And the colour is off the charts. Lovely job!
I’m happy to watch you again. 😊
Great job! What a beaut!!! 👍👍
