    Ugh, I want to love these tires. They are gorgeous in the tan sidewalls on my zipp 303’s and they feel absolutely amazing on the road. I had the previous version last summer in clincher and I also experienced quite a few punctures, too many for my comfort. It’s never fun to hold up your group on a Sunday morning while they impatiently watch you fumble around fixing your flat. I swore off Vittoria’s last year and mounted gp5k’s in the spring. Gp5k’s are great tires. But that’s where it stops for me - they’re just great. They’re like vanilla ice cream; predictable and reliable. You don’t have to think about them, they always get the job done. But - they’re not sexy like the Vittorias. I took off my perfectly good gp5ks and mounted up these new graphene 2.0 Corsa Control clinchers just recently. I’ve only done 2 rides but I have fallen back in love with Vittoria. And - no punctures, yet 🤞Anyway, I’ve been scouring the web looking for reviews on these new vittoria 2.0’s. You video has persuaded me. Thanks man! Great review. Cheers.

    Great review Chris, I've run the tubular version(Vittoria Corsa 25m) for the last 3yrs. mostly for racing only with a few club races with no punctures! Having ridden and raced for 37yrs. they are the best tubular I have ever ridden maybe wear out a bit quick but thats to be expected (1300k)! Then I just got the new Vittoria Corsa this yr. in a 28m and hands down the best tire I have ever ridden(Tubular) I run them at 80psi incredible feel for the road so much I'm using them to train as well so far I have 700k with really no sign of tread wear! In the past 6 years I have trained on Gatorskins with great success 3 flats over that period no punctures all were slashes, I have probably jinked myself saying this!

      I had hoped and was excited about the same but my experience is that these 2.0 tubular tyres feels slower and heavier on the road. Not sure why but they consistently perform abiut 3-3.5km/h slower than my other clincher wheel tyres.

The mounting I agree the last inch is hard but they roll really smooth and good water displacement. I bought the corsa speed version is fast but are race oriented they don’t grip on water at all.

    Was a bit worried that you wouldn't be honest on this one, but it actually was an honest review...
    Now about tyres, or tires lol... my own review...
    -Specialized Turbo S-Works *****
    Excellent, very descent puncture, fabulous feel, good protection, but lasts around 4000k
    -GP 5000 ***
    Still in review phase, but the feel is not all good, AND have had 3 punctures in 2-months! CRAZY I KNOW, The kilometers not yet known...(may be I don't want to know lol) Maybe just got a bad pair?!
    Still, the Specialized Turbo S-Works is tops...
    Funny Note; I have seen so many riders with, bikes of known brand big name companies that actually don't buy Specialized tyres because it doesn't go with there name brand bike!!
    I mean, it's silly not to use a good tyre JUST because your bike is not a Specialized bike???!!!!!
    But then again, must understand and respect (the importance of looks) lol
    We roadies need to have everything perfect, looks, feel etc... especially the ones who put in lots of kilometers every other day...

    • @ChrisMillerCycling
      @ChrisMillerCycling  5 лет назад +1

      Hey Lefty, cheers for the great comment. Seriously rate the Turbo S-Works performance, possibly a little harsher ride then the GP's and Corsa's, but only minimal. I think the main reason I don't buy them is the fact you pretty much have to go to a Specialized branded store to get them, thus discounts or multi-buy deals are hard to get. Speaking of Specialized, I do run the Specialized AirTool mini-pump (mini-pump/CO2) and it is seriously the best CO2 and pump on the market.

    Also, never had such a battle getting a pair of tubeless tyres to seat. I ended up taking a costly train journey to a bike shop where it took the guy 3 hours. (yes my rims were tubeless )

    Thanks Chris, I bought a pair for my Specialissima, the bike has been beating me up on longer rides with other tyres, until I fitted these! Similar experience to yourself so far, I tried running low pressures for comfort as I only weigh 54kg, but the tyres don’t like to be run low, raising them to 105 psi front and 110psi rear made a huge difference to the performance and are still comfortable, oh and I’m using Michelin aircomp Latex tubes too, the best tyres I have ever ridden on by far, haven’t done enough miles to see how they hold up to real world damage but if I get a season out of them then I’m happy, rode some rough roads in the tour of the Peak last weekend and no punctures and no cuts, to be honest they feel so good I think I will still buy them again even if they do cut up!

      Thanks Chris, great channel btw, I do like climbing, looking to do an Everesting challenge in the next 4 weeks 😮.
      I found an online Vittoria tyre pressure recommendation where you enter your weight and tyre size and tpi count etc, they advised even more pressure for my weight, yet every other tyre I ride I would run at around 80psi, not sure why the Corsa needs to be so high?

    • @rot852
      @rot852 5 лет назад +2

      @@Bikes-guitars Hey mate, I was running the Corsas as my race tyres for the previous two seasons and found that for TP it usually depended on the surface that I was racing on. For places like Eastern Creek (a motorsport track that is completely smooth), I would go up to 100-105 psi whereas when I was over in Belgium and racing over some really crap roads I would go down to 70-80 psi. They do start to cut up after about a certain amount of kms but this wasn't too much of an issue for me as I wasn't using them day in day out... (I weighed about 60kg back then)

    • @LS1conehead
      @LS1conehead Год назад

      I'm about 80kg and I run them at the same pressure with one of their latex inner tubes (down from my 'old school ways' of pumping a setup like this to 140 front and 145 rear!!).
      After about 1K miles the rear tire is starting to get that flat tread wear down the middle, but they have been flawless otherwise (NO punctures, and the shoulders I must ride on have ALL KINDS of; sharp stones, fallen wood/tree debris, broken glass from peckerwoods throwing out their beer bottles, and other shrapnel all over them!).
      I don't care if the 'sacred go-to' Contis last 20X as long, and don't flat even ONCE in that time frame, I would not give up this ride, suppleness, response, or sound for them! 😉

    • @MrScrofulous
      @MrScrofulous 5 лет назад +3

      @@ChrisMillerCycling I reckon all bike tyres are fine in the wet actually. The riskiest time is when there has been a dry spell and the first raindrops fall and the diesel haze gets just a bit wet, makes a dangerous lubricant regardless of what vehicle or tyre you are running. We always see a burst of trauma in Emergency when that happens, and I've had a couple of close calls on roundabouts, especially in regional towns where everyone drives a diesel. Roadies don't really lean much compared to motor-bikes, even on steep descents or tight corners, and I think the carry over from that tech, esp with companies like Michelin and Pirelli has to ensure good wet weather performance. Like all tyres, it comes down to the balance between grip and wear rates. Slicks will always suffer for d\grip in the wet, but roadies don't really go fast enough for the relevant water displacement dynamics to play a huge role. They started adding a bit of silica to motor-bike tyres in the late 90's, took a smidge of dry grip away and added a lot of wet grip. I'm sure they use that info when formulating cycle tyres. I got fed up with flats ages ago, and went tubeless on the front, with great results.
      I am running a training tubular on the back presently, but am interested in graphEne tyres and will surely try these next time I need to buy a clincher.
