    I've had these on my bike for a few months on some pretty crap roads and they have been excellent. I replaced a set of Conti GP5000s with these and these are way better. Nothing but sidewall splits in the 5000s and a few punctures. It's all well and good talking about rolling resistance but it don't mean shit when you're standing In the pissing rain for 20 minutes trying to fix a puncture. Once you have Victoria's you won't go back to Contis. Another thing about Contis I've found is that they are great for the first month, great speed, great traction...but beyond that first month they just bed in as regular old tyres and lose a lot of their initial plus points. Whereas these Victoria's have stayed exactly the same since I stuck them on. No fluctuations whatsoever in speed, traction, comfort.

    I’ve been on Vittoria tires for over 20 plus years. For the last couple years on V Corsa 2.0 Graphene (clinchers)

      Completely agree. I've gone through loads of different tyres over the years, Michelin, Goodyear, Contis and by far the ones I've had the less hassle with are Victoria's. I've got these on my bike right now having replaced some GP5000s (very good tyre) but these are way better.
      People get fixated on one name like 'Conti' and think they can't be beat but they can and are.

    I've been riding the Vittoria Rubino Pro tires for quite some time, and I love them. For about $25 per tire, they're much less expensive than these racing grade tires, and let's face it, most of us are not racing our bikes. I've gone literally thousands of miles since my last flat, and that was due to the riders in the front of the group not calling out a huge pothole and several of us riding into it and flatting. Get yourself some Rubino Pros and enjoy the ride.

    I go for handling first and have used Vittoria "open tubular" Corsas for some years. They are 320 tpi and wonderfully supple and have lasted a lot longer than I expected. My most indestructible tires were recommended by my mechanic: Continental GP 4 Seasons and I have never had a puncture with any of them, although not always easy to put on the rim.

  • @stefanwagener
    @stefanwagener 2 года назад +6

    34mm: Nice!!! So far widest option had been 32mm afaik which I use in form of Conti GP5000. These have been very reliable and durable to me. Rear tire replaced after 7000km, front tire 10,000km and still running. Not a single puncture so far. So I am not sure if I would risk to try out something else with my next set based on marketing bla bla. 20% more means nothing if the reference generation was rubbish. But among the different tire width, I would definitely go with 34mm.

    Vittoria tyres seem crap these days. The evo cx 320tpi tubular seemed to last ages. The newer G2.0 seem to cut so easy and the corsa speed are good tyres but not durable enough.

    I have a set of these in 28, tubeless. The max pressure of 72 psi is for hookless wheels. Hooked max is 95.
    I run them 75 rear and 72 front and I weigh 183 lb. Internal rim width of 21 mil.
    Anyway, I really like these and picked up a 2-pack with 80ml Vitoria sealant included for $65 usd each, or $130 for the pair, with free shipping. Great deal at that price.

    Puncture resistance is key. I put Corsa G on a bike years ago and they got a flat about every third time I went out. Never again no matter what they claim. Not to mention these tyres are stupidly expensive. Using Pirelli Cinturatos across the fleet and these are proving a strong and good handling option.

    I've tried Vittoria road tires and only used them about one week. The worst tire I ever used for cornering control and I punctured my 4th time out. What's funny to me is my friend bought a new Colnago about two months ago and he told me today the cord was showing already and coming from a dedicated Conti user he said he did not like the ride feel and control he experienced. He said that he usually gets a whole season from tires and that these tires wore out extremely fast. Rating the Vittoria brand from 1-10 I would give them a 2.

    The comparison "data" is laughable. First and foremost - if you don't specify what you are comparing to, the whole thing is meaningless. And then, if your claimed improvements are within single digit (ex "9% faster") but then have an "Aligned" metric with a margin of ±10%, your new tire may not even be faster! :D

    These tires last for thousands upon thousands of miles. 10% price difference here and 10% longer lasting tread there, doesn't mean much once you amortize it over 100s of rides..."omg, 1cent/1penny or whatever saved in every other ride" means nothing for people that will end up paying $180 vs. $200 for a pair of performance tires...
    All this $ spend for developing, producing and advertizing these "new" tires, would probably be better spent on making the "reference" performance tire better or cheaper,, and the reference economy tire better or cheaper, vs. just increasing choices of half-cooked improvements on either way.
