    I couldn't do a better review Myself. Awesome, wholesome review. The best I've herd thus far. I know you didn't get a chance to speak on the Dual functionality of the Players. But would of been great to expand on playing 2 tracks on 1 player. I mean Honestly ...DENON has changed the game COMPLETELY in my opinion.

      i was thinking teh same thing. for under the price of a nexus 2 setup, you have 4 deck control and mixing! that's huge

  • @daveriley7162
    @daveriley7162 5 лет назад

    I've been contemplating a purchase of these decks vs. the obvious competition for the past couple of months - almost day in and day out - looking at every aspect from features to weight, software compatibility, everything. This video absolutely sealed the deal. Thank you for taking the time to do this - awesome information from a firsthand perspective, and a few laughs to boot. lol PROPS!

    I’m late to the party here, lol. I’ve got the SC5000M’s and Prime 4 and as a Dj of 43 yrs I have tipped my hat off to Denon for making a true standalone product that has freed me from the laptop. Mind you, I’m coming from Numark V7’s that are built like tanks and already had the dual layer function first. Numark just released a new unit that’s a standalone and I think it’s built for entry level Dj’s and works off of the exact same engine software. Times have changed that’s for sure. The setup you reviewed is perfect for cutting, scratching, mixing, and blending. I don’t particularly care for all of the sound effects that seem to get in the way of or cover up mixes, lol. I use the same 2 channel Vestax Mixer with a 10yr old innoFader Pro. There’s so much more I could say but I’ll stop here.

    I did enjoy playing with these this weekend at the guitar center , Jog wheels FEEL really different so there is a learning curve for that . Great review

    • @djshyproductions
      @djshyproductions 6 лет назад +1

      how is the platter response when it comes to scratching?

    • @hot4futureyears2come
      @hot4futureyears2come 6 лет назад

      Dj Shy it is a different feel for sure. I did about five hours on the system. I love the feel of the pioneer CDJ (especially the 900) so to come from there and coming to these. It is a learning curve. I can preform some of the scratches on them well but others not. And about three of four times the song kept moving even though I was spinning back but I have a light touch so if you are heavy handed you should be fine. Digital scratch so maybe a future update they will work on the sound of the scratch. But this system is really not for Jazzy Jeff. So they are just fine for the everyday DJ

    • @djshyproductions
      @djshyproductions 6 лет назад

      Hey Jose...thanks for your input... yeah... the denon's are touch capacitive so yeah def a different feel coming from the 900/2000's... and that was my concern with the platter lag. were you using tracks from the USB or with serato? I know the sc5000's are now a native controller to serato so I'm wondering if the lag is there as well... Thanks!!!

    • @hot4futureyears2come
      @hot4futureyears2come 6 лет назад +1

      i did use it for a little bit with serato, it works nice with serato, overall a great product to go against Pioneer

      The pitch bend on the jogs is screwy right now. Hopefully they fix that and the dark, compressed, low-pass sound on the next firmware.

    very good review. I am thinking about getting this set up. I love pioneer, but it may be time to try something different.

    Did you mention the mixer has the colour fx knobs and filter fx knobs separate, so can be used simultaneously?
    As a djm900nxs2 owner that's something that I think blows the djm900nxs2 out of the water. That's dope as hell!
    Also I read someone mention that the jog wheels are capacitive touch, is that the case?

    The Mac is back. Watup man. I've never played on cdj's or media players. I own A Numark ns7iii. I still haven't tapped into its full potential. These things look really interesting. Great review

    Thanks for the video brother. I just purchased a couple of SC5000M Decks.
    Would you recommend I use the Denon X1800 mixer I want to use in stand alone mode and don’t want to use a laptop.
    Thanks

    I bought these decks on sale about 3 months ago. Even at regular price, they’re about $300 less than the pioneers. Best decision I ever made! 4 decks for the price of 2! In my opinion, I see no reason whatsoever to purchase the pioneers over these decks. Especially at the price I got them for.

      I'm on the bink of picking 2 of these up with a x1800 for 2k€. Still not sure since they are not the club standard and you need to be able to perform on cdjs at any given time

  • @jamesdeanjr985

    you missed the whole crossfader section. It controls curve, it has fader and cross fader start, it's interchangeable with Innofader, AND you can adjust it further in the settings man! Like, adjustable via millimeter PER SIDE.

    I have this set up with the Denon 1850X mixer. When I try to use it with Serato DJ it will not connect. At the bottom of the screen it shows the mixer is trying to connect and may take a few minutes. But nothing happens. Can you please help me with this. DJ G Serra.

    Techno EDM, Drum and Bass guys might like the Denon X1800 but Deep House and Soulful House Djs won't I have the 900 NXS2 and if you love the Post fader and Spiral effect at 3/4 like I do, there's nothing on the X1800 that comes close. I own the X1800 so I'm not saying this because I think so. The Sweep effects on the Denon X1800 are corny and useless. With the exception of Beat Break which I don't use, the rest of the BPM effects are more of the same.
    I think this is where they drop the ball. The FX time knob is all black. Hard to see and I'm always turning the wrong knob.
    The SC5000S are incredible but they don't sound as clear as the Pioneer 2000 NXS2. Check the Denon Forum before you check me. Older Djs like myself spending this kind of cash care about sound quality first. Younger Djs get excited about bells and whistles.
    I'm mixing with the Denon Prime Series but I'm Rocking with Pioneer NXS2 set.

    And did it become club standard ? No, unfortunately not...except for Laidback Luke I did not see this setup in any major club or at festival. Why did Pioneer not even respond with new CDJ ? Because these Denons have MANY hardware and software issues... Play/Cue buttons popping off after few months - it's unacceptable. I don't care about layers - I want precise jog wheel. I don't care about pinch and zoom if setup is not reliable. If only they tried a little harder, Pioneer are really overpriced and they need good competition. They wanted to pack XYZ features and they - failed.

      Ive had no problems with my 5000ms they are years ahead. It takes time for people to change the "industry standard" Today i see Sooooo many people moving to Denon and saying how they woupd never go back.

    I'm sorry but I feel that Denon DJ system will not be the standard DJ equipment for clubs and venues. I know some DJs outside the US swears by it but I know that Pioneer is still the club-standard DJ system.

    U do a great job of breaking down,the equipment u reccomends however for$5,000 to $6,000 possibly, a DJ who is not cheap, could say well, I could just go with cdj's than this denondj media players, definitely tempting and pricey for certain, be more short when explaining, and less contradictive if u seeking sponsorship??, cause if I was BRAND mgr, I would say, oh hell no!!!, other than that good presentations
