Just got my X1800 n i must say it feels n sounds amazing! It feels solid n sounds fantastic n thats w vinyl. Ive used Pioneer since 1999 but Denon is def leading the pack at the moment. Next is the SC5000. Thanks for the review!
These are going for less than a grand right now. I am in the market for a new home mixer to connect to my 1200's . I was looking at the DJM 900NXS or the Rane MP2015 but this price is hard to pass up. Do you still feel like this is a great mixer to pair with vinyl ? Have you hooked it up to XDJ's? Thank you for your review
9:06 what about the computer? Can I plug in my laptop and use Native Instruments Maschine Studio software and route it into one of the channels without having to use an audio interface?
Are all of those settings under the hood configurable on a usb stick to instantly load your preferred settings? Otherwise that would be a hassle to show up at a clubs mixer and have to remember & configure all your settings :/ defeats that customizability otherwise if you can't
We will be adding this as a feature in the future. There is however a downside issue to the DJ that would come on afterwards without a profile, expecting standard operation, so we would be looking to limiting any audio or live play impeding options that would stop a show, or change dB levels.
probably want to add a utility menu lock too, with a rotary 0-9, 4 pin password or something for big events and super clubs, sound engineers would freak out if everything keeps changing on every set
You mean: you will add this as a feature in a FUTURE mixer? Because this one, unlike the older X1600/X1700 doesnt have the USB A port on the back where you could plug your USB stick with user config file saved.
Hi mohammad :) Both are good controllers. The biggest decision you'll have to make is if: 1) You want jogwheels (1000 has them, S8 doesn't) 2) If you want to use Rekordbox DJ (good for club DJs) or Traktor Pro 2 software (good for electronic music and DJ/producers)
I really like the SC5000 decks, bit don't use a lot of FX... I know using the deck with a different mixer wouldn't give the same integration, but what do you guys think about plugging an SC5000 into an MC7000 , or 2ch mixer like DJM S3, DUO, or even a standard 2ch analog mixer like the one I have now...? There's just no way I can afford or justify the cost of a full Prime setup... but I dream of having one along with a Denon MC7000, and my single Turntable when at home...
@@halcyondaystunes bro are you serious? I’m recording the mix via record out using rca cables into a external sound card which is connected to my Mac via usb and I record into ableton that way. I can do all his by connecting the usb from the denon x1850 into the Mac and record my set?
Slightly different cosmetics to match the 6000, different headphone jack opamp (not sure why, probably just prior model superseded in a line), and the effects aren't just BPM-matched but can optionally also be lined up to the exact quantization you want. The quantization alignment on the X1800 is based on when you trigger the effect. The X1800 has more mature firmware running in it, though.
Good video, as always. Quick question: how is the midi working? Can I hook it to traktor and use the touchstrip for something in traktor too? Like the x1600 this was so cool!
4m 20 secs. Funny how they say they love the fact the mixer noise effect does not sound to loud over the music. (demonstrate) and fall silent because it is too loud against the music lol.
Noise effects are pretty stupid anyhow. I avoid them at all costs. Of course I don't do the loud, and (pardon my opinion, I don't mean to sound snobby) super hyper EDM style music. From Detroit area so it's more about subtle effects and dub echos in my genre.
@@digitaldjtips I'm already the owner of the DB4 but am possibly switching to the sc5000 players from my Pioneer CDJ 2000's. Can't decide if I should switch mixers too
I think the DB4 sounds slightly better and has much more complicated effects, but that's up there comparable to the X1700 and MP2015. X1800 integrates better with the Prime players, though.
@ Digital dj tips is this mixer Serato dj ready ? Because I know that denon has been pushing their engine prime software with it but nothing has been said about serato dj compatibility.
This is from the Serato DJ website: Available in a future release of Serato DJ, the Denon DJ X1800 will be Serato DJ & DVS Upgrade ready for plug-and-play control of Serato DJ. serato.com/latest/blog/20202/denon-dj-sc5000-and-x1800-forthcoming-in-serato-dj :-)
I am feeling very frustrated right now. I know own 2 X1800's and they both have an electrical buzzing sound from them when nothing is plugged in. I am very unimpressed with this 1000 euro mixer and Denon DJ.
For the price of the whole lot, I would think you can preview video and it would have an hd video output. I went to a workshop and was sold on the standalone but the serato beta froze up. I'm also concerned on the mcx8000 which seems to be abandoned with their engine software. I'm not trying to drop heavy paper and be a Guinea pig for Denon on my own dime. Word on the street is that Denon has lost its quality and uniqueness after inmusic. Pioneer has already been proven. I'm a Denon fanboy but this current market has me a little uncertain.

Thanks for the love Eric! We're stoked you're happy with your X1800 Prime

Great review Digital DJ Tips!

Sorry not tried that, let us know if you do!
It has MIDI out so I assume you can use MIDI clock master on the mixer and put the maschine in slave mode...
Can the channel feeders on this unit be tightened, more tension? Too loose
No
great review guys
Can be this mixer connected to ableton live software? Or other recommendation for it
It has Ableton Link, so yes.
Nice review!
Glad you enjoyed!

Imagine it could work alright (though like you said not be as tightly integrated as a full prime set-up) :) worth a shot!
Hi Phil, how do you record your mix if your not using Serato integration.
Use an audio recorder - Tascam and Zoom make good ones.
The usb audio out sends 10 channels of audio. Use a DAW or run cables from the record out to a laptop with audacity

Not much

Is this a new controller that DJ Denon came out with after the DJ Denon Prime 4?
Nope, this is the mixer they brought out to introduce the Prime range
Wash out on the sweep effects is superb. Not sure why this guy didnt think much of it

Not sure about that, sorry - we'd have to hook it up when we next get the chance to have a try.
Nobody mentions what the Ethernet connections on the back are for ?
Connecting the media players so everything works in sync.
very nice video and i love cue effects
Thanks! Us too!

I was thinking to buy djm 750mk2 but this mixer has more features almost same price ... :) pioneer looks more user friendly and many DJ using it ....
Lots of choice out there these days which is nice :)
X1800 or an Allen and Heath DB4?
Oh that is a toughie, we rated both 5 stars out of 5. Try and have a play on both if you can!

Pop the bottom off and ground all the ground pins together. Give it a search on Google. Simple to do if you can solder. I fixed mine this way.
Yes no more computer. just plug in, search, load and play
Right on!
Denon, why did remove some features compared to X1600/X1700??? To please Pioneer fanboys who don't know how to use them?
NOICE.... NOICE... (plz stop saying noice)¨
