Lesa, I love your fabric choice. It's everything I would have wanted for that room. Of the colors you tested, I prefer the darkest one, especially with the fabric you've chosen. I recommend using it on the paneling, doors and trim moldings. I would prefer a mustard to golden tone paint on the plastered walls though. It would brighten a rather dark room. The Renaissance French aristocracy painted their beamed ceilings with wonderful linear floral designs. All of their Châteaux had them. There are tons of photos to be found on-line of these designs. I would make similar stencil borders and paint them around the walls above the paneling. It would be a fast, simple and an inexpensive way to add color and interest to your design. Of course, the colors should tie in with your fabric choice. If you use the dark paint on the paneling and trim, any gilding added to trim or paneling would really make the dark color pop! You could paint arabesques in gold on the paneling too. Just make a stencil for them. None of it has to be museum perfect, because it will look more authentic otherwise. Keep the scale of the designs more diminutive than grand. I have seen a paneled grand salon painted that dark burgundy with gilt trim molding, and it was really stunning. That said, it was probably early 19th century paneling. I think you could use that gold, kind of coarse woven fabric from the first store for the bulk of the bed curtains, draperies, etc. I think it had of bit of sheen to it too. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I think it might actually look wonderful if your phone camera was doing it any justice. Your original fabric choice could make wonderfully rich, and thick borders. You could add a third fabric to increase the richness and depth of the curtain borders. A verde green might be pretty with burgundy and mustard as an accent. Piping in a contrasting color only gives it more interest and luxury. Your color palette is your fabric. I hope this was helpful. Good luck! ❤ from TX!
The material looks amazing, it actually looks much better in your house than it did in the shop, because you couldn’t see the sheen on it there! 😂 I can’t wait to see it all turned into drapes, tie backs etc. Have you ever thought on doing an Amazon wish list? - It was just a thought! Another great video, with lots of love, and big hugs to you both. From Aberdeenshire Scotland ❤🤗xxx
excellent choice of fabric... your medieval decor needs a 'brocade' style fabric whose warm and chamare appearance is the characteristic.. congratulations in any case
I love the fabric you've bought...and I particularly loved the gold/ mustard weave fabric you paired it with in the shop, it will help lighten the room up. A touch of french blue accents somewhere would look good methinks. But you are in that room and know where the light and shade fall. You are both so good at this. Have fun xx
I would think that you should pick a colour of paint that is in the wallpaper. If you have different colors in the wallpaper, paint, and fabric, it will be a hodge podge.
Love all your choices! Its going to be cosy, olde worlde charm, fully suiting the chateaux. Well done guys, its going to be 🔥🔥🔥 . Big brass accents would be super gorg.
I love the dark wood, but with really dark walls I think it will make the room look smaller. I wouldn’t use it but it’s only my opinion. Your doing a great job as always
Lisa, that fabric is gorgeous, it will be so elegant in the new bedroom. Ted was having so much fun, I know he was so happy you invited him to go with you. Lol..lol..Kathy USA 🇺🇸
You could go back to shop that has the sample and ask if you could buy it 🤔then you would have a bit more 👍Love the fabric it's going to look Amazing when Lesa has work her Magic 🎆 Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Really enjoyed our peek at the fabric shops and the fabric you choose is gorgeous. I would pick a light corn colour for the walls o think it would go well with the brick work and dark woods. The a burgundy fabric for the bed with your new fabric as the accent colour. I know I’ll love what ever you choose.
Hello, what a joy to enjoy your fabric shopping video. Lovely choice Lisa, you have great vision. The fabric is going to look rich and in keeping with the surroundings. X
Love, love, love the fabric, it will look amazing. Lesa you have wonderful taste and Ted’s taste is in his mouth!!! Just kidding, love both of you, and enjoy your witty reparte, always!!!!!❤❤❤
Love that fabric! I think a dark accent coloured fabric will be perfect! (light fabric will show smudges too easily!) Maybe lighter walls to match the stone, but use a darker paint in the window niches?
That would be a great fabric to do an accent wall (tapestry type)with and pull a color out for the wall and a solid color from it for the bed and wall colors!!
To me, the area already appears quite dark with the wood. I agree with picking a colour from the fabric. Again only my opinion I would go with the palest colour to bring light to the space
That material shop was fabulous. When mini skirts were in fashion my sister and I made our own dresses. Our local shop for materials would let us take the material outside so we could see the colour in day light. I can't wait to see what you do with that lovely material.
That fabric is gorgeous and i think will suit the medieval renovation (a wealthy owner of the chateau would have approved!). It's all up to you Lesa and Ted - you have been successful in your ventures so far so I totally trust your decisions on this one!
It's going to look like a dungeon with all those dark finishes. Try FARROW&BALL colours. Their "Indian Yellow " is fabulous with dark wood. 💛 Or even a warm white would be better than dark burgundy red.? 🤷
Love the fabric mixed with the Gold fabric. Still not sure if I like the reds on the wall with the dark wood but then it’s not my home, as long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters. Xx
Ted, you're a good sport to tag along in the fabric shop. Lesa, follow your heart. Your designs are always amazing. Inlove the color and pattern choices. I use to orn s duvet with the same print.❤
If you are wallpapering that would be your feature wall so the red would be too much. And you would need a neutral wall color ie white or crème or beige with red accents pillows fabrics etc. you have got this. You do so good.
I love the multi col I red fabric the med blue on one wall and a goldish color on the other i think it would be very cohesive PERIOD Hopefully the wall paper could be like a grass cloth in a matching color
Too dark for me and have never slept in a red coloured room but have had difficulty sleeping with red/pink/orange and yellow so I avoid those. But it's your room I love the window colours is why I suggested lighter to make a feature of the window stone as it it will be lost with the red colour paint. If you are doing red walls don't do red fabrics is way too much for one room with wood paneling. Do an oat or stone colour if you are going red on the walls to attach the stone colours to the room. As a coverlet it would be lovely and pick one colour off it though I think the blue would be lovely for cotton sheets in that colour would cut the severity of the reds in the room. White curtains though you have a few colours you could use for the rest of the room accents.
The drapes for the four poster don’t need to actually close, just make fake curtains that are tied back in each corner. Actually liked the mustard better than the wine red 😃
All that dark surface would require more electric lighting (stay away from candles) to keep from groping in the dark. And listening for what style, "incredible ornate" suits me but what period you are hoping to emulate or not!!! The lacey fabric or any special pieces could be combined with others as a banding and not cost so much. Love the metallics!
Too much dark wood to go with the paint you favor. I would go with the lightest of the 3 colours that would enhance the wood and warm the room a great deal. It is a lovely rich colour. I wouldn’t pick a dark curtain with too much of a print. I really liked that woven, tweadie mustard colored fabric you said you loved. It would work beautifully with the lighter wall color. Very rich.
Light colours bring light in
I still say light walls because there isn't alot of light coming in also your four poster bed will darken the room plus you have alot of dark wood ❤
Dark wood and dark walls is going to make that uniquely shaped room look like a cave. Go light with darker fabric.
I also like lighter walls to contrast your lovely dark wood, and still allow some light to bounce about the room.
I think those paint colours are to dark for a room that only has 2 windows. Rather choose a paint colour that the lovely material will pop against.
I think lovely pale cream walls would look so classy with this fabric x
Lesa, I love your fabric choice. It's everything I would have wanted for that room.

👏👏
Yes that was my favourite as well as the mustard fabric great choice you can do various colours on the walls too,i love it
oooooh i love LOVE the material!!!!! yippee for the internet 😊
Love that fabric if you put it with a very light blue/teal. But I detest reds and burgundy - you however must do you, not any of us.
The material looks amazing, it actually looks much better in your house than it did in the shop, because you couldn’t see the sheen on it there! 😂 I can’t wait to see it all turned into drapes, tie backs etc. Have you ever thought on doing an Amazon wish list? - It was just a thought! Mustard would look great with rich creamy walls to show off all the wood. X
Are you hiding in a cupboard somewhere 😁

Glorious fabric choice!!!!!!
You can edge all the drapes and curtains with the patterned fabric. X
The fabric you got is beautiful!!
That will be beautiful when you put it all together!
Your favourite is my favourite. The darkest of the colours you tested. ❤
I would think that you should pick a colour of paint that is in the wallpaper. If you have different colors in the wallpaper, paint, and fabric, it will be a hodge podge.
I'd LOVE the mustards!!!
Love all your choices! Its going to be cosy, olde worlde charm, fully suiting the chateaux. Well done guys, its going to be 🔥🔥🔥 . Big brass accents would be super gorg.
Love the Foot Loose reference!
I think trying to tie all of that together would be easier it you take colors from the fabric or wallpaper. It will be more cohesive that way
Lovely to see Lesa so delighted with the beautiful fabric well worth all the effort 😊
Fantastic vlog. The material is gorgeous ❤
I love the dark wood, but with really dark walls I think it will make the room look smaller. I wouldn’t use it but it’s only my opinion. Your doing a great job as always
Love the fabric ❤
Have you thought about cream and greens and using floaty linen type fabric for the four poster?
Aww lovely that fabric I loved it shame a bedspread would be gorgeous curtain headboard crown part lovely 😊
Leesa’s smile when she got the fabric would light up any room. Looking forward to seeing it completed
Lisa, that fabric is gorgeous, it will be so elegant in the new bedroom. Ted was having so much fun, I know he was so happy you invited him to go with you. Lol..lol..Kathy USA 🇺🇸

Fantastic Fabric shop, can't beat a sale
It will turn out so nice, happy for you. Wish i was there to sew them up for you.
My idea of heaven all that fabric,

Hmmmm, very strange comment, sorry, couldn't even get the joke 🤣🤣
Paint for the wall looks similar to the shutters, will look lovely.
Oh, the material is absolutely gorgeous. It's a great pick. It works out in the end 😊 maybe deep gold walls ?
Great idea!!
Love the fabric ❤
Love that fabric! I think a dark accent coloured fabric will be perfect! (light fabric will show smudges too easily!) Maybe lighter walls to match the stone, but use a darker paint in the window niches?
That would be a great fabric to do an accent wall (tapestry type)with and pull a color out for the wall and a solid color from it for the bed and wall colors!!
I liked that fabric the first one you picked out
Looking forward to the finished room. Fabric is gorgeous! You two deserve a bigger following. Can't understand why you haven't got it yet.
Good question!
Love the darkest red. And the fabric you chose is fantastic. Maybe still add the yellow as well.
Just love your fabric! Good choice!
Choose textiles, soft furnishing colors first and then paint colors. Keep walls lights as the timber ceiling, paneling and small windows make it dark.
Well done Lesa, you have to be happy with what you buy. No compromise. Happy face 😊
BEST WISHES TO YOU
I don't really like going around shopping, but that was a really good buy, can't wait to see your creation
Wall paint too dark. But it may change now you have the material. I love, love the material.
Wow I just love that fabric great choice , I am now check I g out the fabric shops in France as I will be travelling through in August thank you
Love the fabric .well done Ted for surviving the shopping ❤
Beautiful fabric, so happy for you to have found it. Cheers from Kansas USA😎🌞
I love the fabric and the fact you got a deal!!!!

It's just beautiful but Ted's choice was also beautiful ❤😊❤😊
Ted...we know it when we see it! Embrace the process. I love that fabric, I would have chosen it myself.
Ted, you're a good sport to tag along in the fabric shop. Lesa, follow your heart. Your designs are always amazing. Inlove the color and pattern choices. I use to orn s duvet with the same print.❤
What they need in these shops is an area with comfy arm chairs and magazines for partners to relax in while the other half shops.😂😘
Those fabric shops need a small pub in the back for waiting hubbies..lol, they would make a mint.
@@kendallricker9633 great idea that 🤣

Ted just needs to remember that for you going to fabric store like that is akin to him going to a comparable wood supplier
@@donnabeard9344 exactly my thoughts 🤣
Ted you made her walk away from the fabric she liked
Beautiful Fabric, pitstop, you got a eye for a good thing including super Ted.
I can totally understand where Lesa is coming from. Congratulations the fabric is stunning!
It will look so wonderful !!!

Can u buy the sample piece from the shop as well if u need a bit more? It’s gorgeous.
The fabric is beautiful! I think the paint color you picked will look great too. The room is going to look so pretty and cozy. 😊

For a large amount of fabric, could you find some things at the charity shop of on auction?
Too much dark wood to go with the paint you favor. I would go with the lightest of the 3 colours that would enhance the wood and warm the room a great deal. It is a lovely rich colour. I wouldn’t pick a dark curtain with too much of a print. I really liked that woven, tweadie mustard colored fabric you said you loved. It would work beautifully with the lighter wall color. 👋👍❤️
Iwould think carefully about wallpapering the wall on the right as it cuts through the window visually and you dont want to draw attention to that
Dark walls in a room with little natural light seems a recipe for disaster.
Exactly
I agree.
If a room is naturally dark, painting it bright will just make it appear dull..
Painting it dark makes it cosy not dull
The fabrics and decor can bring light and interest to a darker worm room
I have a dark room that I painted navy and I love it every time I go in the room I smile because I listened to myself instead of conventional wisdom.
