I was 12 years old when I watched the Bulldogs' Cinderella run. My favorite moments were when Fresno State defeated #3 Arizona State in the Tempe Super Regional and when Fresno State won the National Championship.

I live in Fresno . This was amazing . I was in middle school at the time . The whole city was completely aware of this golden milestone.

Fresno State baseball alumni here. We went to the series in 1988 and were out in 2 (Stanford and Miami). You guys got it done and gave all us alum pride!! Congrats to coach and team and Bulldog fans!!!

worse. Fresno State was the very lowest ranked team in the NCAA tournament. First time ever in NCAA history of all sports that the lowest seeded team went on to win it all.

@@MattHalfhill They were a 4 seed when the CWS seeds only go 1-4. That's the equivalent to somewhere between a 13 and 16 seed in the NCAA basketball tournament so they'd probably be something like a #14 if seeded 1-16. Still wildly impressive.

All you have to do is get an invite. #4 seed in the regional? Doesn't matter, you just have to beat who's in front of you... and then do it again in the Super Regional, the CWS and the championship series. Your pitching gets hot for three weeks, anything's possible...
I was pulling so hard for them. I'm a Californian and I always go for underdogs, so I root for the San Jose States, Fresno States and UC Irvines of the world. To see them win the whole thing...
