That's right on point,, sucks but reality does at times, lot of good ones to remember ,, but a lot of times that last memory, blocks out alot
I lost my son one year ago, Easter Sunday 2020. His dad and I met at the hospital, after our son had been in for 5 days with an unknown heart failure and not being able to see him due to COVID, to remove life support. We sat with him for 2 hours, until his precious heart stopped. The next day, we met at the mortuary to complete plans. I live 60 miles away, so had a bit of time to travel. As I started to go around the mountain, I could not stand the quite any longer. Turned on the radio and this song came right on. As I cried, I knew my son gave me something to help me. For the next couple of weeks, every time I got in my car, this came on, letting me know I had a co driver on board. This song is put on every morning now, as I talk to Cody and make sure he knows how much he is loved, he is in a way telling me the same. I cannot begin to tell you how much this song means to me. Cody may have sent this song to me, but Luke, you have a gift that carried my son's help to me. Thank you.

I'm so sorry Brenda that you had yo go through that hell. It's bad enough that you lost your son, but to be kept away from him is horrible except for those couple hours! Your message made me cry. But, I do believe that our loved ones are always with us, you just have to watch for the signs and it sure sounds like you did hear the signs. God Bless

My dad passed away yesterday after giving lung cancer a fight like no other. We didn't have the best relationship and I have many regrets about that but I would never want anyone else to be my dad ever. He was the strongest man I knew with the biggest heart. He was a truck driver his whole life and we had many memories of our road trips when he was still married to my mom. I saw this country from shot gun in a semi. Driver, you are relieved of all duties. Keep trucking in heaven.

I was diagnosed with a lung disease almost 2 years ago and this song fit exactly how I wanted my kids to remember me. And then I lost my step Father in January 2023 and this song helped me to get through his loss. Thank you so much Luke.

Your dad will always be with you and you can still hear his advice in your head and you ALWAYS will. Losing your dad is difficult no matter if you are young or old because your dad is your rock and your comfort for all those difficult times but remember that he taught you life lessons and remember them to honor your dad's work. The sadness does go away as time passes. Hell, I am 60 years old and still miss my dad but my thoughts of him are always happy and pleasant. There are times where I know he is right next to me. Chin up Kenzie, your world will be okay in a while but just a little different.

I lost my Father in January from f*^king Covid-19 he was only 66 years old and had just retired after working his entire life. He was my hero my best friend. The strongest man I ever knew I drove him to the hospital. Never thinking he would be the last time we rode in the car together 14 days later I was on my knees, praying to God, less than 8 feet from him through a glass wall, watching him take his last breath, completely helpless and wishing I could do something. Everything I’ve done in my wife has been because he taught me how to be the man I am I miss him every single day. This song really hits home. Thank you Luke I can only pray that I can be half the father he was to my four year old son. I just wish I could call him for advice. Does it ever get easier?

I never had my father around so I never know if I’m doing the right thing or not. It drives me insane because I don’t have anything to judge off of. You got this man. Keep doing what you’re doing. The fact your stepping up for your girlfriends child and the fact that your worried your doing it right proves you are a great person. My only advice is to build memories and that doesn’t mean spending a tone of money just doing things together.
I had a double heart attack this year and I know my time is limited. Im going to try and make up for the time I wasted being at work more than I really needed etc rather than spending it with my kids.

Luke, when this came out I was homeless, in and out of jail, and unhealthy. Now I have a house, a good job, and a husband. This song and "Clover Cage - Summer Of Love" are the two songs that helped overcome my depression. I just want everyone to know things do get better, and they will! We are in this together. I can relate. I lost my dad at 10 years old in the year 2000. It's been a rough 19 years sometimes, but I dont cry about it. Except for when this damn tune plays. I love it though.
I lost my dad when I was 15, he was depressed and drank too much and his liver failed. We had time with him before he went but we could only say so many words to each other. This was 3 years ago. They gave my dad 6 months to live and within two weeks he was brain dead. It happened so fast. I could just see this void in my dads eyes that he had already passed. I couldn’t say to him what I wanted to say. He was gone before i knew it. I wish I had said that I love him more then anything and how much I would miss him. I think about my dad everyday. for a long time I hadn’t processed his death. Now 3 years later it feels like I’m finally strong enough to heal. This song. This song right here speaks it all. The moment he starts singing I can’t hold it in. Your father is your father no matter what, and when you lose a loved one they are always still with you; whatever you believe in doesn’t matter, you feel them. I want to be the best man I can be for my dad and it helps give me a purpose, and if he was here today I know he would be proud of me. I would give any amount of blood just to have another conversation with him. When I become a husband and a father I want to be the best I can be and I look forward to those roles. I want to be there for my kids when they need their father. I give my thanks to luke for creating this song and he has all my blessings for the healings he’s brought to millions of people. You’re an Angel.

100% true story. Today I had to say goodbye to my father, an incredible person who had such an influence on my life. He has at most 24 hours left to live. I drove an hour to his care facility this morning and about 3 minutes before I pull into the parking lot, I flipped on the radio….and lo and behold, this Luke Coombs song. It spoke to me with such power and left me in tears before even stepping out of the car. God was telling me something. Thank you.

I found this song before I lost my Dad and loved it, when I knew his time was coming close, this song brought on a whole new meaning. I was a mostly good kid, my dads fishing partner, he picked me up after basic training and after my deployments, he was always there and this song is a simple reminder that he will always be there. I lost my dad last August. This August will be a year since he's been gone. 😢 My sister played this song at his funeral. It was the hardest day burying my dad that day. I always cherish his memories.
I loved this song when it originally came out. It hits different several years later now that the father of my twins has passed away. Grief is ugly and endless. You never have children with someone thinking they won’t always be there. My babies will have no memory of their daddy. And they’ll never know how much they were loved and wanted. I’ll stop my sob story now and go cry by myself. 😭
I’m 48 and my dad left us when I was 10 and this song hits me hard because I wish I had a dad that I could have had these feelings for, but I have 9yr old twins and my kids know I’ll always be there for them.
This was a double whammy for me because 1. My son lost his dad to an OD when he was only 3 yrs old. Active duty army. 2. less than a year later I lost a relationship with my dad (what little I actually had) due to his actions. So this song gets me. Love those kiddos the best you can!

Im not a big crier much anymore, but i definitely felt some emotions listening to this song. It reminded me that part of the reason im so jaded is because i never had a father to help me fight the dark, overcome challenge or to be able to teach me how to walk as a man. I’ve listened to this song about eight times in a row and I have balled my eyes out every time. I still have my dad with me and we are pretty close but it always hits me in the heart when I think about the day that I will no longer have him. My heart truly goes out to anyone that has been through anything like that. But no matter what you have been through you can get through it stay strong but not to strong because it is okay to have feelings because that is what makes us human.

I lost my dad when I was only 4 years old, I found him dead in his my mom’s bed. I think I may be traumatized, he had a heart attack in the middle of the night. Sometimes whenever I get on the football field I feel like he’s with me, I pray to him every night, telling him how much I love him and I miss him. And then my mom basically went crazy for a while, but she got mental help after a long time. Just know to cherish every moment of life (especially with the ones you love), because tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. God bless everyone and stay safe 💙💙

On 10-11-2020 in the middle of the night my parents house caught on fire. I lost both my mom and dad, my beautiful 18 yr old daughter and my sister that night.
