8:32 thanks shadetree I love that story. Is there an older video describing that
Josh, you DO have a starter. It's under the rectangular cover that's under the carbs. The thing that you're missing from the side is the sprocket cover.
@@LtJackboot I confirmed with the previous owner that they did removed the starter 🤷🏻♂️
What do you want for the seat
Fork paint is hammertone, more commonly used as a machinery paint. The genuine version of it, Hammerite, is very tough.
I have an '81 cb750 project, but I don't have any mechanic friends to bail me out. Looking forward to seeing yours progress.
The starter is under the chrome cover just forward of where you were looking for it.
That looks like Hammered metal finish on the front end. Few different brands available but I bet it's cheap rattle can to cover up rust pitting on the forks. It hides a multitude of evils.
That Cb750 tickles a special place in my heart. I remember a few of my dads friends having very similar builds back in the 90's. Definitely some cool nostalgia and fits the sketchiness a lot of other bikes you've had.
"back in the 90's"??? The CB750 came out around 1969, I had a new one in 1976 and bought a used one in the mid '80's. These bike go forever and are real classics.
I know the CB came out way before the 90's. My first experience and earliestmemories of them are from the 90's They were probably the first bikes I saw with raked out front ends and custom tanks. My dad road typical so cal style stock Harleys. @@tokairic3925
Front end is called hammered finish paint.
The starter is housed under that chrome cover behind the cylinders/under the intake manifold...
I learned to ride on a yellow Honda Trail 90, in 1970, 10 years old!! El Dorado National Forest. My frien Bobby and I rode all over the forest, taking turns. Near Lake Tahoe, my love for riding was cemented that summer! Thank you for the vid, triggered great memories!!
Gotta love the early CT90 . Had hi n low range . Bullet proof bike for farm use . Cheers n beers from Australia .
The front hub and brake look like Honda ct90, it was common to use them on choppers in SoCal. There was also a “Stop-a-Chopper” system that was worthless. In 1970 I had a Frisco style ‘49 Indian Chief with no front brake. Fun at stop lights on hills with the foot clutch.
I believe you are correct on the ct90 front wheel
Here's an observation. How are you going to shift with the existing exhaust? The original mid mount shifter lever is all but touching the exhaust header. So you may be stuck with forward controls unless you can find a set of headers and pipes that route differently. I always admired those old CB750 Choppers. Dead reliable and still a blast to ride. Cheers Josh! Zip~
The pure child-like joy in your giggles when you talked about Madam Hexe had me dead
No low ballers I know what I got.
😂
Just needs a battery, ran when parked
Must be said in a certain Mr. Regular voice, no less
I think I heard passports. That could be some fun adventures, a group travel from here.
@@Your-Name_ I buy a fair number of old crappy bikes, I've got a few batteries of various sizes that are all good. Funny when someone tries to pull that one and you come prepared.
That springer front end is powder coated already, it’s hammered silver black finish. Common to spice things up
Billbo hair just guarantees your order as an authentic Brap star packed merch order! ❤
I’d give a 12 star review if there was an animal hair in my order! Bikes and animals are my favorite things! I have a stray cat from the neighborhood that likes to come in my garage when I’m working. He’s always welcome!
A Trail 90 gave me stitches and a cool scar.
The fork finish i've heard referred to as "futuristic black", as Hutch BMX back in the 80s had a few frames and parts painted that way. I like the finish.
Careful with generic oil tanks, do bikes have restrictions ( british do) so the top end doesnt get half the oil.that frame is aftermarket, btw. 90%sure its a Santee.
I love that ball valve foe the fuel. no sarcasm. I think it's cool. keep that give it a braided fuel line
Ha..me too!! 😊
My C70 never let me down either, for cents on the Guilder.
That custom mechanical throttle is sooo going on a wishlist. It tickles the old pickle in just the right way..
Ed Marsh is the best. He's such a great inspiration with regards to how bulletproof and adventure capable the C90s can be.
I am so glad you explained that engine on FnA’s chopper. I was looking at that thinking how the heck is there a kickstart on a M8. The noticed the cylinders were shovel and was to distracted to notice the evo lower
Check the small cover on top the engine. Thats where the starter is located
Just what I was going to say. The cover under the carbs is where you'll find the starter cavity. Most UJM's have it there.
The nostalgia seeing the first few streets in the begininng, i grew up in my abulas house right on that block
My first bike when I was a kid I’m talking 7 years old in the early 70s “giving my age away” was a Honda QA 50. It was great being a kid!
The girder front end has been painted with Rust-O-leum "Hammered" rattle can paint.
The starter is under the chrome cover right behind the cylinders. The chain cover is missing
Yamaha is now on the Trail platform.Looks almost the same.🤔🤨🤘
In Australia the Super Cub is the postal service motorcycle (The Postie) 💪
8:43 *PAPA MEAT*
Ey I don't mind Bilbo hair 😂
I love that you kick start the Trail 125 even though it has electric start. I've always called that paint on the front end Hammer Tone.
You know you have to get that chopper running and ride it at least once before you get to fixing its flaws.
Ha Josh . The starter on a CB750 is under the chrome cover below the carbs on top of the engine block ...
Now we are talking. Super cub, cub and this.... We want in the UK
Forks are painted with hammertone. Same as some shop machines. You can buy it in spray cans.
😎👍😎
Get the chopper running ..dependable ..don't remove or add anything..make it a raffle bike ...
I have the same oil tank on my 1970’s cb750 chopper project! Mine is also mounted that way and seems to be the correct way when removing the battery.
The Silverfish would be a great name for the cb750 chopper
First motorcycle I had when Jr high was a Honda Trail 55. 1964 was the year it was. Great first bike it was.
@Shadetree, That "Coating" on the front is Powder Coating and it's called Silver Vein. Probably a good durable powder, but it's mostly used on like patio furniture or the like.
Your starter for your Honda is under the fancy chrome plate below the carbs.
“ do what the tampons do “ that was so funny
Merry Christmas to u and the Army, Shade.
Got a Honda monkey seriously the most fun I've ever had on a motorcycle
Dude that design needs to be a large back patch, it's fuckin AMAZING
The Paint on the Forks, Looks like a product called Hammerite by Dulux/Cuprinol part of the AkzoNobel group. I think you may have trouble getting that off, as I remember One of my friends painted his Motorcycle engine with that stuff, It had to be chipped away took a long time. Nice Chopper though 😏🤟
Small displacement bikes can still be fun, my little 200cc sport bike still puts a smile on my face every time I ride it.
I want to build a chopper soooo bad haha
one day!
Great video as always you legend!
In Asia, any scooter 125 and below will do. You’ll just need to adjust to the local rider rules, and have an international licence especially in Indonesia. The local police can be brutal with fines for unlicensed foreigners.
I love that you can be riding a different bike each week. You just hop on and go with so little fu*&'s to give. A Biker's Biker :)
Electric starter should be under that chrome rectangle behind the cylinder with the 2 bolts
Nothing kicks over with easy than the Grandfather of Goldwings the GL 1000 from 75 and 76
We had a Trail 90 on the ranch. Kick down the granny gear, and that thing would climb trees. More than once, we used it to rescue GOATS out of the canyon, because they went where they couldn't go....but the 90 did.
The starter is inside the chrome cover in the case under the carbs
That paint on the forks, Hammered I think hammerd steel, KrinKle hammered steel. I forget but rustoleum hammered collection for sure. funny that you mentioned that wal mart clothing rack! i noticed that as well, i was trying to match the factory end cap paint for the Old school kicker ZR, DX and 460 amplifier series and i saw that , even years ago, almost the exact same pattern. LOL
I just got a 1970 trail 70 running a couple days ago. Same color as the one at ride factory
No frickin way I just watched your 4000 mile Harley adventure and every time having to push start im thinking my little Honda CG125 i can sit on the seat take about 2 strides pop the clutch and she fires up then next video I start and your on a Trail 125 giving C90 adventures a shout out!!!! Gutted they aren't bringing them to the UK. Awesome stuff deffo subscribed already watched about 3 hours of your vids!
I read somewhere awhile back that the Honda Super Cub is the #1 best-selling motor vehicle of ANY kind. The #2 best-seller ever is the Toyota Hilux.
22:30. Hammerite paint. Check out, awesome paint.
Hi there from Indonesia! These days it's mostly either Nmax or PCX that you see on the road
First bike I ever rode was a 1960s restored Honda cub red with white fairings
Very much looking forward to your cb750 project!
From Japan!
I thought the electric starter on the CB750 was under that chrome cap that sits under the carbs.
I saw a hard tail old school chop on FB marketplace for 9000 and it was gone in two days. It looked awesome 😎 1200cc chain drive.
The sprocket cover is missing, the electric start is under that rectangular chrome cover.
"Postie Bike" is The icon bike of Australia!
4 STAR REVIEW...WTF! The bilbo hair alone is worth 5 🌟 geesh!!!! Hope You Guys Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS BRO...
Hi Josh, just wanted to share some personal experience. I’ve been to Japan several times for work and have walked and gawked for a bunch of hours. In the places I have been, I have actually seen more sportsters than Honda trails! Doesn’t make sense, but I think there is some displacement tier system that makes anything over a certain displacement difficult to obtain. Anything over that threshold is expensive to get and similarly difficult.
Most of what I see are blatantly scooters, as their displacement has tax, licensing, and parking advantages.
IIRC, the cutoff is at 1000cc. At that size & up, you'll have to take an "advanced" license exam after having ridden smaller bikes for a couple of years (I think) and pay higher fees & taxes.
Keep it up all ways so good fun and always some of the best info keep it up 😊
That paint is called "Hammerite" a Rust-Oleum product. Sorry.🤷🙄👽 I like the chops. The XS more but both are cool.
fury front fork with a hammertone finish
For about 20 plus years the Australian Post Office used them,So here in Australia there known as Postie bike's
my first bike was a trail 70... banana seat and ape hangars on wheel barrel tires lol
The wife and I are hoping to go do some 2 wheeling the week of my bday next year in Tokyo for my bucket list. Might splurge and rent one of those sick modified Suzuki 650 scooters, or if I can find one a chopper/bagger just for a touch of home.
NO! Not a single CB750 had a mount attached from the top of the engine to the frame. Never.
The only engine mounts were at the rear of the engine and at the front of the engine near the base of the cylinders.
wheres the maagna man?! cant wait for you to get your new bike figured out Keep it up!
Believe it or not if you ever visit Japan I guarantee you’ll see more Harley’s than you would imagine, there’s a whole Harley/ chopper culture there
I used to watch that "Hunting Harleys" guy before I read online how hes a convicted pedophile and he was always getting pissed that most of the vintage Harleys that he had got bought and shipped to Japan.
My first bike was a 1976 cb 750 ss loved that bike only issue was keeping it running like a champ when it wanted to run right it was a beast of a bike when it didn't want it,it was a shit to start and keep running
It did have electro start but didn't work kick only.even though i have electro start and fuel injection now i still kinda miss the 750 banana ss it was a mans man kinda sport bike not the lazy mans sport i have now😂
You should check out Nathan Millward's book about riding a CT110 halfway around the world.
Starter is under that chrome cover under the carbs.
My orders are supposed to arrive today 12/23 !!!!
Presents to myself hahaha
Could be an old Santee frame. Cool in their day, and still cool today.
I will recomend to watch Cikgu Offroad Channel, you will find our teacher use Honda Ex5 f.i as workhorse in deep jungle.
I had a trail 90 for a few years. Wish I still had it
Shadetree on an asia tour???? I look forward to seeing that! 😳
You don't have to go as far as eastern Asia to find them. Here in Greece, the majority of 2 wheels are 50-125cc cubs. Almost everybody learns how to ride on them and most people who don't care about motorcycle culture and all live with them all of their lives, using them as their dailies.
Im not 100% on the CB750, but my CB500 starter is under that cover on top of the engine case.
Supposedly BMW GS have traveled the far reaches of the world??? Yes and the documentary was called Long Way Round filmed 20 years ago.
That throttle is sick! Why aren’t they all made like that? 15:46
8:52 - lovely and gracious.
Cue a RUclips crossover episode where you have @ClassicOctane on to inspect your cb750.
It wasn't because of wolves. The Christmas truce happened the first Xmas of WW1. A large section of the west front. Both sides simply stopped fighting and met in no man's land, exchanged cigarettes, rations, sang songs, shared booze (that didn't exist at the front) . It ended when some French officers, fearing the war might break down broke up the "fun" at gun point, sent their men back to their trenches. The Germans and Brits also retuned to their respective sides. The war started again the next morning. No other stop in the fighting for 4 more years. I'm a historian as a hobby. Bikes, guns, old cars and history. 😊🇺🇲
Low brown customs sell a juice drum if your trying to fix that drum the easy way
In some Asian Countries they are racing M0-peds that are faster than most Harley's At least power to weight ratio anyway .
The Italians put a recoilless rifle on a Vespa. And the Russians put a mortar on a Ural. So it's honestly highly probable a Honda has been turned into a technical.
You know, the Trail 125, for what it is, is kind of good looking in a pugnacious way.
Is there another drawing for that tan shovel head tour glide?
A shadetree never disappoints 🤟👽🚲🎬
