Wow, I didn't realize this song was that old. I went through my Black Sabbath phase in the early 80s' . This is such a great song. I love this and War Pigs a lot! You have good taste!!!!!
Early Balck Sabbath with Ozzy is the BEST! Many good songs on their first 4 albums. There are slow, mesmerizing, haunting songs, instrumental songs, head-bangers and soul-searching songs. Some of my favorites are "Sweet Leaf", "N.I.B.", "Into the Void", "Children of the Grave", "Snowblind", "Supernaut", "After Forever", "Black Sabbath". One of Ozzy's post-Black Sabbath hits is "Crazy Train". Enjoy!
To be fair, I think people thought Ozzy was insane, not so much because he frowned all the time, but that he did things like snort a line of ants. Got to love that. That was in the 80s though, everyone in the metal scene in the 80s was a little unhinged! Good times :)
One of the top 10 opening riffs ever. Check out fairies wear boots next. Ozzy was drunk and walking home one night and said he saw fairies wearing boots and dancing with dwatfs. Then he wrote a song about it. Nobody believed him but geezer.
You should listen to the "Megadeth" version of this song. A Black Sabbath Tribute CD was released in the 90s called "Nativity in Black". such an awesome CD. on it there are these tracks: 1. "After Forever" (originally released on Master of Reality) Band: Biohazard length: 5:46 2. "Children of the Grave" (originally released on Master of Reality) Band: White Zombie length: 5:50 3. "Paranoid" (originally released on Paranoid) Band: Megadeth length: 2:32 (really good) 4. "Supernaut" (originally released on Black Sabbath, Vol. 4) Band: 1000 Homo DJs with Al Jourgensen length: 6:39 5. "Iron Man" (originally released on Paranoid) Band: Ozzy Osbourne with Therapy? length: 5:26 6. "Lord of This World" (originally released on Master of Reality) Band: Corrosion of Conformity length: 6:25 7. "Symptom of the Universe" (originally released on Sabotage) Band: Sepultura length: 4:15 (reallly good) 8. "The Wizard" (originally released on Black Sabbath) Band: Bullring Brummies with Geezer Butler length: 5:01 9. "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" (originally released on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath) Band: Bruce Dickinson with Godspeed length: 5:36 10. "N.I.B." (originally released on Black Sabbath) Band: Ugly Kid Joe length: 5:28 (really good) 11. "War Pigs (Live)" (originally released on Paranoid) Band: Faith No More length: 7:02 12. "Black Sabbath (From the Satanic Perspective)" (originally released on Black Sabbath) Type O Negative length: 7:45 (this last one is brilliant) so the best one and the ones I recommend checking out is track 3, 7, 10 and 12
Can't wait until you check out Dio. The singer at this period was Ozzy Osborne, but Dio also did vocals for a period as well. He is a LEGENDARY metal singer in his own right. The two most popular from him are Rainbow in the Dark and Holy Diver. Both are absolutely bangers. Another metal artist to check out if you like them is Alice Cooper. He isn't just a singer, he is an entertainer. My favorite song of his is The Ballad of Dwight Fry. Others to check out are School's Out, No More Mr. Nice Guy, Eighteen, and Billion Dollar Babies.
I hate it when these old videos, when there is an awesome guitar solo. Will show everyone else in the band BUT the soloists' himself! I.E. Showing the Bass player during that iconic solo!🤔🤔😒😒😥😥
This is heavy metal before "metal" existed...black sabbath really delivered the heavy s#@t!!!
The absolute greatness that is Sabbath!! If you wanna groove try Sweet Leaf. They broke a taboo and said what it was in 1971.
Ozzy is the godfather of metal
My MOM'S first concert in 1971...
My Mom was cooler than me. 🤣😎💯

If you haven’t already seen the live performance of War Pigs 1970 in Paris the drums are crazy good 😊
That's what I'm talking about! That guy is savage. Just his stamina alone.
@@kimzwolinski9919 brilliant!
I gained a whole new respect for drummers after watching that.
@@kierstenridgway4634 There are times in that video that I was afraid he might die before the song ended 😂 very impressive, he stole the show
Check out War Pigs live Paris 1970.

One of the great songs of all time. Remember these guys did everything first, think of any bands that did all this before 1970?
One of the top 10 opening riffs ever. Check out fairies wear boots next. Ozzy was drunk and walking home one night and said he saw fairies wearing boots and dancing with dwatfs. Then he wrote a song about it. Nobody believed him but geezer.

Young Ozzy had to be a lot of fun
Thank God this song is only 3 minutes long. I have no idea how many neck injuries i would have experienced if it were any longer.

War Pigs live Paris 1970. Those drums are still getting money for rehab for the beating Bill Ward gave 'em
You need to do hand of doom by Black Sabbath
Into The Void And Hand of Doom should be next
this is your fave because you have not heard Neon Knights... this got a coveted re-play, Neon will run you over... Ronnie James Dio on vocals...🤟🤟
Try Hand of Doom and NIB 🔥🤘☮️💜 Look at how cute baby boy Ozzy is.
