One of (lead guitarist) Angus Young's biggest influences was Chuck Berry, one of the pioneers of rock. Chuck Berry used to do a duck walk. Angus is doing his version of that. Skipping across the stage. As you react to more of AC/DC or if you want to, you'll see him do it in a number of their official videos.If you react to Chuck Berry sometime, he sang "Johnny B Good"
I always wondered if Angus wasn't doing a modified duck walk. That's kinda cool (I met Chuck once as we both grew up in St. Louis and now live down under where AC/DC is still everywhere - but I never knew for sure there was a connection)
Chuck did a very elementary form of the duck walk. Angus took it to a whole other level, to the point now where it is synonymous with him. It could have been a nice "tip of the hat" to Chuck, but Angus had so many other moves, and was so energetic on stage, especially when he was younger, that he truly became one-of-a-kind.

There are so many great guitarist to pick a favorite because there are so many different styles.. SRV, Hendrix, Gilmore, Angus, Eddie Van Halen, Gary Moore, Clapton,. Not to mention the old school greats.. B.B. King, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, and so many more from then to now. I used to try to pick a favorite guitarist but I decided to just enjoy all of the great guitarists and the great bands and just rock out to them all. Keep on Rocking young man.

Hey from Australia! There's a street called 'AC/DC Lane' in our CBD (Downtown), Melbourne.
I never realised how many of these great bands were British, Rock just wasn't my thing growing up, at least I can enjoy it now but it's the concert experience that I'm most sad about missing out on.
Oh no no no no no! This here AC/DC is an AUSTRALIAN band! Founded in Sydney in 1973 by brothers, Malcolm and Angus Young. They just happened to have been born in Scotland. AC/DC have always considered themselves as Aussie.

AC/DC is the ultimate hard rock n' roll survivors' band... Formed in Australia in 1973 by Scottish immigrant brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, and took their name🌩 from the label on their sister's sowing machine. Malcolm Young played rhythm guitar... Angus Young played lead guitar and also became the band's mascot in a schoolboy uniform, shorts and running around on stage w/ the 'Chuck Berry duckwalk'.
The band hired singer Bon Scott in 1974 and released their first 2 records in Australia in 1975 ... AC/DC was signed internationally in 1976 and played the UK for the first time, eventually moving there in 1977 w/ Phil Rudd (drums) and Cliff Williams (bass) joining the band and touring the US for the first time on their 4th overall album 'Let there be rock'... followed by 5th album 'Powerage' in 1978 (which sold a quarter million copies w/ no radio airplay)... 6th album 'Highway to Hell in 1979 became AC/DC's first gold-selling album (half million copies).
Tragedy struck AC/DC in early 1980, when lead singer Bon Scott was found dead in a friend's car in London, England... apparently, he drank heavily at the bars one night, passed out in his friend's car... and then vomited in his sleep and choked in the night. AC/DC were devastated and considered breaking up... but Bon's parents in Australia encouraged the band to carry on.
So, AC/DC returned to England and held auditions, finally hiring Geordie lead singer Brian Johnson... Their 7th album 'Back in Black' was recorded w/ Johnson and released in 1980, dedicated to the memory of Bon Scott... 'Back in Black' sold over 12 million copies in the US (25 million to date) and is one of the top 5 selling albums of all time.
Despite the success, AC/DC's albums after 'Back in Black' failed to sell in the 80's... the band was accused of inspiring a serial killer in 1985... critics accused them of not progressing their sound (AC/DC has always been a basic hard rock band w/ no keyboards or samples... just guitars, bass, drums and vocals).
'Thunderstruck' was a hit single in 1990 for AC/DC that finally jump-started their record sales for the album "The Razor's Edge" (sold 5 million copies in the US) and made AC/DC a huge concert attraction in the 90's and beyond... Phil Rudd (drums), who was fired in 1983, made his return to AC/DC in 1995 for the 'Ballbreaker' album... AC/DC's catalog has sold 200 million copies worldwide, 75 million in the US alone.
Sadly, around 2008(?), rhythm guitarist and AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young was diagnosed w/ dementia, just as the band released the album 'Black ice' (which charted at #1) ... Malcolm Young did the tour until 2010. His health deteriorated and he retired from the band in 2013... Malcolm Young passed away in 2017. AC/DC hired their nephew Stevie Young on rhythm guitar and dedicated their last album 'Power up' in 2020 to Malcolm Young.
However, the future of AC/DC has been uncertain... they have not toured since 2016.

A band bent on making silly shit happen like no other band in the history of making shit happen. Watch them LIVE at River Plate. Highway to Hell or Whole Lotta Rosie or any of the various vids from that concert... Our Dudes were in their early '60's at the time and it was like time stood still and didn't matter. Trust me.
