- Annie Mac presents the 15 most exciting new music acts, as part of the BBC Sound of 2014 list. Features Sam Smith, Chance The Rapper, MNEK, Jungle, Royal Blood, BANKS, Sampha, FKA twigs, Ella Eyre, Kelela, George Ezra, Luke Sital-Singh, Nick Mulvey, Chlöe Howl and Say Lou Lou.
Banks, Sampha, Ella Eyre, Sam Smith & Chance the Rapper are my picks. Banks is just too amazing though she will be the winner of BBC Sound of 2014.
Top 5 announced by the BBC so far are.. 5) George Ezra, 4) Sampha, 3) Banks, 2) Ella Eyre. With that said I think we'll see them announce Sam Smith as the #1 tomorrow :)
BBC's pick never disappoints! these are great acts!
Banks, Royal Blood, Chance the Rapper, Luke Sital-Singh and Ella Eyre should be in the top 5

5 SECONDS OF SUMMER
#5 has been confirmed as George Ezra! Predicting either Sam Smith or Ella Eyre to win.
BANgs AND JUNGLE AND ELLE EYRE AND SAM SMITH
MNEK ftw
Ella Eyre
Banks and sampha ;D
Royal Blood are my pick of the bunch although that's just because they sound like QOTSA! Chlöe Howl is like Marina. Really like MNEK & Sampha.
Royal Blood
MNEK
Chloe Howl
This is not a fair video. They only focused on a small amount of the artists. Granted they haven't got interview footage from all of them but they should have went out and got it.
No pleasing everyone.
BANKSSSS
BANKS!
It's funny looking who succeeded now in 2018 (well almost 2018)
George Ezra
young fathers?
FKA Twigs probably won't win but she's easily a winner for me. Her music is the most innovative out of the entire bunch here and there's real sense of auteurship to her work. Banks, Sam Smith, Chance the Rapper - they're good and I am looking for their new material, but it's not exactly earth shattering Sam Smith is a male Jessie Ware (which is a good thing by the way), Banks is a sexier, popper, darker Fiona Apple. Apart from Kelela and Sampha the rest of the list is totally forgettable.

I am hoping Banks wins, but I would also like Sampha ans Sam Smith to be on the top 5, and Chance The Rapper,to give rappers on his level some attention as well
Sam Smith!
who's #1??
BANKS
I'm really dissapointed that Sons & Lovers aren't in this list. All of the artists in it make music that I wouldn't listen to.
how is the winner decided?
and also, if I could choose I'd pick Sam Smith! ;)
A poll of music insiders. Mainly media types.
Banks // Sampha
Ben Khan hallo?
Sam smith!
where the hell is bastille?
2014 = BANKS!
Banks today
FKA twigs
unfortunately i didn't hear much originality :-(
I would respectfully say that looking for originality (what I interpret as creativity and experimentation) is probably a little out of place on a mass market pop aggregator like a Radio 1 playlist...
And by definition, once experimentation becomes accepted as the mainstream, it's no longer experimentation is it? Think: autotune, synthesizers, electronic instruments, digital releases, recording music...at some point over the last 100 years all of these things had less than 1% market penetration, whereas now they have +90%...
First!!!!
Sam Smith!
