The main reason why people can’t grow their hair (relaxed or natural), is because a lot of stylists are scissor happy, and keep cutting it. The excessive trimming, chopping, and convincing customers that their hair is “damaged”, when it’s not, is why so many people can’t grow their hair.
So, true...I've never cut or trim my hair. I simply repair my ends by applying the right conditioners and oils (yes split end can be repaired). I don't go to hairdressers. I think when they encounter Black women with long healthy hair, I believe envy set in so they try and convince you that you "need a trim".
@@casper12365 I read from specialist that Caucasian hair growth is 1.2cm a month, Asian hair is 1.3cm a month and is the strongest and African hair growth is .9cm a month. It is the most fragile and has the slowest growth rate. When it is reported that hair growth is 1.3cm a month that isn't for ever hair texture. When black hair is constantly trimmed, it won't show growth. How fast your hair grows or how thick is genetic.
@@marciapeak893 on average all hair grows at .5 inches a month… perhaps some ppl slightly more or less but I think a lot of ppl think black hair grows slower when in fact it’s most likely not but just breaking off so it just appears that way
Something to think about…. Homeless women or depressed women always seem to have full heads of long hair…. Even if it’s matted or dreadlocked. In the videos where they get their makeovers, their hair is down their backs…. The reason? They leave their hair alone
Absolutely beautiful and healthy hair. However, I am in my sixties with long hair, that haven't had a relaxer in 6 months. Oftentimes, I am flabbergasted about long my hair has grown. I'm waiting for the finishing touches you've done to the client's long and flowing hair.
I had a beautician tell me that your hair will break when it is natural. That confused me 🤔 and made no sense, I just figured she didn't want to "deal with" natural hair and the lack of salon visits. Then ironically a year later she cut her hair and is still natural to this day lol
Exactly you see how this beautician glorifying and loving this type of hair but referring to 4c hair as coarse and unruly it’s because this hair takes no effort to do
Mine used to be that same exact length 6 years ago relax hair can grow you just got to get the right products and leave it alone and quit switching it will grow that turn out absolutely beautiful you do have those magic hands 👍😁👍
Now that's some hair care! To go from 1" to 24"+ of healthy hair is something to be proud of! Some people have really strong hair; rare, but they do. Mine is very strong. I bleach the roots every month, for years and now have changed to level 9 strawberry blonde recently, coloring my whole length. My hair, measured from my forehead, is 39 1/2" with almost no split ends found, is healthy, soft & balanced. This video reminded me to check for SE, and I've found 3 strands I trimmed. I haven't been putting any effort into my hair for a couple years, other than leave in and oil every few days. I have recently been trying to care for it properly, and it's very strong and healthy, despite the longterm bleaching. 👍🏻
The stylist was kidding about the 1inch. She came to her with more length than an inch. Remember she said in the past her hair taken 3 hours to dry under the dryer. Anyone with 1inch of hair can dry in 30 mins
Amazing! Folks, this is result of having someone who knows hair. Crystal, I burst into tears because my great aunt grew my hair her length, and my mom and others destroyed it. She is so fortunate to have you working on her hair
I really like what the stylist is wearing, looks light and cool and that is the most quiet client I have ever seen. I can see post partum shedding on her but it will be back in no time.
I''m in my early 50's I have had relaxed hair since I was 5 or 6 years old, and my hair was very long! I would say almost at waist length, and it was very healthy! So, you are definitely right! Who says you can't have long healthy relaxed hair? I also have a girlfriend I grew up with in the 1980's at my old church, and her hair was relaxed and very healthy at ankle length! When I met her at first is was just only relaxed at ankle length, and then as she got older around the age of 17 she started dyeing it a bright red! And, it was still very healthy, relaxed, and color-treated at ankle length! So, she's a prime excellent example right there that you can have extremely long healthy relaxed or chemically-treated hair! And, she has always been an inspiration for me having extremely long relaxed and chemically treated hair just like hers! 😀Now, the thing about going natural.....with my wavy/curly hair type I can be either natural or relaxed but if I had a preference I would prefer to be relaxed. Now, sometimes I do love the curly and wavy styles....
I agree if you can take care of your relaxer and go to a stylist with good vibes that actually care for your hair it will grow long. Keep stylist with bad vibes out of your hair.
@@goldenlady1213 thank you. Because not everyone have your best interest at heart. Stylists with bad vibes will break your hair off. And will stunt your growth. I know because I went to a stylist for 11 years and my hair never flourished.

I also think even if she was natural he hair would grow well if she took care of it. Some have great genetics. And paired with a good hair routine can achieve length
Her hair is Beautiful 😍. I am glad that you still left a lot of length. I have short hair & I can't even get a decent cut with out most Beauticians trying to bald me. I also hope she gets over her Post Pardom Depression. Bless You.
First of all...her hair is GORGEOUS!!! My hair was long when I was relaxed. I just didn't like using the chemicals and didn't want them affecting my body. Plus, I didn't like the fact that it burned occasionally. I don't miss that process at all. But, everyone has to decide what works for them. As someone else said, ti all depends on the care you put into it.
My hair has been relaxed since I was 11. It is past my waist at present (about 24"). During my pregnancies, it grew the most. I also was afraid of colouring my hair...I waited about 30 years before trying a rinse which I loved. During COVID, I let my roots grow out a bit but once we were back "outside" I returned to relaxer. I do, however, roller set...every time...except when I trim. I spend 1.5hrs under the dryer most times. I also do the bun every night. So her routine is very similar to mine and clearly it works!
Growing up, I’ve always had relaxed hair from childhood and my hair was sprouting like crazy and was healthy.. now I’m trying to be on that natural wave and my hair is growing but not as fast as it was when I was relaxed so I’m going back to relaxed
Examine your diet. Hormones & aging could be factors. I believe hair is more to do with genetics. If you're a person who always had hair whether it's natural or relaxed it will grow the same. To me the growth changes based on hormones, aging, & diet. Sometimes sleep habits or water in take as well
I love my natural hair, but my hair grows quicker relaxed as well. It’s not just the look of it, I actually measure my hair length. I cut 2-3 inches off my relaxed hair a month ago, and it’s grown back and inch in a month. My natural hair didn’t do that
@@DC-sh7ud that literally makes no sense but okay. Hair growth isn’t detriment on relaxed on on relaxed hair. It’s all grows the same. You may be breaking it off when it’s natural but relaxers don’t make your hair grow if anything it stretches your hair but how are you natural and relaxed?
@@daniella8400 I agree it makes no sense but it’s true 😅 Thankfully I had a mom who gave me and my sisters freedom to wear our hair the way we choose. I’ve alternated between loose natural, relaxed, texturized, locs, dyed, bald and now I’m relaxed with hair down my back. My hair is health no matter how I wear it! When I was natural I was heat trained (or heat damaged to some) but my new growth came in a different texture so I measured it that way. For some reason my relaxed hair grows faster idk why 🤷🏾♀️

All hair can be healthy, one just have to know their hair how to take care of it. and it can grow no matter what state.. Her hair is very beautiful thank you ever kindly for sharing this God-bless you🙏🏽💕🌹💕🌹
Agree. All hair grows. Retaining length is most people issue. Most don't get the ends of the hair become more dry than the roots. That's where breakage start & continues up the shaft of the hair. Trimming is important with proper care
Her hair is beautiful. I have thin strands/dense hair. I put a texlax in my hair 4 years ago and my hair hated it because it thinned my already thin strands. So when she says “healthy relaxed hair” she is telling the truth. Some women with thick strands really do well with relaxed hair. Now I’m back to all natural and finally hit waist length this summer. It took 4 years 😢.
Off course relax hair can grow and very long the problem is many people over process it by believing that as soon as the new growth comes in is time for a relaxer and that's what breaks the relax hair. So now we know to relax the hair every 3 months 4 or six months.
It is the case. Its just that we've heard and seen a lot of horror stories growing up. The relaxer isn't the problem it's the maintenance and the bad styles we do once we have them.
You always educate on your videos (which I ❤️). Her hair is beautiful. I do understand why your tone is stronger regarding Relaxer vs Natural hair based on the questionsfrom viewers. You have truly made it clear what ever the client prefers, you will keep it healthy. Wished you were closer to my city, I would love for my Mother to be a bi-weekly client❤️🙌🏾
That's rare indeed. The exception isn't the rule and I'm certain she spend a lot of money to maintain that. More than the look, being natural is about your HEALTH.
Chemical or natural you have to have a regular hair regimen to maintain healthy hair. It’s not that difficult to understand. When I was a kid my 3rd grade teacher used to call me Pocahontas because my hair was long but in my teens everyone was getting perms and dying there hair I had major issues keeping my hair length now after 3 years of being natural my hair is about 3-4 inches past my bra strap
@@spiritualone2173 I wash my hair with shampoo twice a month and condition 2 times a month deep condition 1-2 times a month. I try to keep my hair in braids with my natural hair I’ll also brush and oil every week to keep fresh and remove shedded hair. I DONT use oil daily and I only put it mid way to the ends of my hair. I don’t really do wash and goes either and I use mostly Camille rose products and try to always sleep with a satin bonnet. Hopefully that helps you on your journey
@@spiritualone2173 first thing to know is that your hair is always growing. Second thing is, you have to learn how to take care of it so that what is growing will not break off. You have to learn how to handle tightly curly/coily hair. It's not straight hair so it requires different care.
Her hair is beautiful. All that heat and blow dryer and comb teeth gave me anxiety lol. I just remember the teeth of the combs after having that hot chemical on my scalp made me feel like my scalp was being scratched with razor blades. And I never understood why hair needed to be further flat ironed immediately after it was just chemically straightened AND blown straight. But her hair and scalp can certainly handle it, so that's good!
You seem to be bashing natural hair. I have been natural for 8 years! Best decision I ever made. Was relaxed in my early adult years, I liked it but I never achieved the length I have now in the time period that I have been natural. I have tail bone length when my hair is straight and have to keep trimming every 6-8 weeks to prevent it from growing beyond that. The knowledge I gained about hair care since going natural was incredible. No doubt my initial journey was challenging because black women have been brainwashed and conditioned to believe cozily hair must be relaxed. I now believe I could probably achieve similar length but would likely take much longer time if I relaxed my hair now, but I love my natural hair so much I would never ever relax again. The versatility of natural hair is so much( more than with relaxed hair. What I learnt during my transition from relaxed to natural was that wow I can actually have 4-6 months of new growth and still have healthy hair. If I relaxed my hair now I certainly would not relax as often as I did which was every 6-8 weeks as that does not promote healthy hair. I would relax perhaps 3-4 times a year, use less heat and perhaps could achieve similar length. However honestly I have not seen any relaxed hair with tail bone length and the same density/ thickness that I have when I wear my hair straight. Natural hair is not difficult or more work in my opinion. I had to relearn to take care of my natural hair. Problem with persons who say natural hair is too much work is they have not accepted the difference in the hair texture and the changes in methods required to care for coily hair. I went through lots of trial and error with products, methods etc before I found a strategy rhat works for my natural hair. Will never go back to that creamy crack! To each his own but I love my mostly 4b and 4c natural hair,
Its very tempting to go RELAXED. LENGTH RETENTION IS EASIER WITH RELAXED HAIR. Its easier to keep knots out. But then I think of all the dangerous chemicals polluting my body and decide against it. Ill just have patience.
Such long hair on a melanin American women theses days seem rare. She must have her own hair care products or something. That's definitely a healthy head of hair. Thanks for sharing.🙂💙
Hair can be long and healthy wether relaxed or natural if it's well taken care of. I've seen plenty of naturals with broken off short hair and plenty of relaxed individuals with short and broken off hair.
You couldn’t paying me to flat iron my hair from experience speaking. I been growing out my natural hair now a year and a half and I’m loving my natural curls. Good job btw ❤
I do as well. My hair is waist length. I wear my hair in wet buns unless I'm going someplace that I feel requires to wear it down. I also do braid outs and sock curls to avoid heat as often as possible. My texture is 4b/4C...so natural is not an option for me. Her hair looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Black women can grow hair...focus more on the health...ditch the weaves and wigs...too costly in my opinion.
@@crystalo8603 It's not an option for me, and for me only...I am not speaking about anyone else...it's too difficult to maintain my hair was brittle, dry, tangled...I spent more money looking for the right hair products, etc...therefore keeping my hair relaxed/texlaxed has been much better for me and my hair is to my waist. I also believe the pandemic contributed to growing it too...because I didn't feel compelled to do it for work since I was at home.
Currently waist length and relaxed. I trim every 8 weeks and alternate weeks of protein/ moisturizing deep conditioners, and henna once a month. I relax 3-4 times a year and only use heat on relaxer day. Protein moisture balance (weekly) relaxer every 16-18 weeks trim every 8 weeks low manipulative styles direct heat only 3-4 times a year moisturize and seal as needed You will see results!
You can have healthy long relaxed hair as long as you take care of it. My hair grew a lot and was healthy when it was permed as long as I was letting a professional hair stylist take care of it. I think the key for some is having the right hair stylist. But natural hair can grow long like that also. It’s all about taking care of your hair. So both natural and permed can grown long hair. But for perms the chemicals going into the scalp which is bad for you.
Her hair is so beautiful! I was never able to achieve ANY length at all when I was relaxed. My hair never went past neck length. Soon as I stopped relaxing, my hair grew super long. It's down my back now. The last time my hair was that long was when I was a child and had natural hair. I learned that my hair texture is not forgiving when I relax my hair. It constantly breaks off no matter how many trims, protective styles and deep conditioners I used. It just didn't grow past my neck. Thinking back, none of my relaxed relatives grew long hair either. People downplay genetics and hormones. However, they play a role in hair length, strength and retention as well as how well you treat it.
Ma’am you are really tempting me to go back to the creamy crack. I’m 4years natural and just cut off 3.5 inches for the third time. My hair grows so fast now but I’m scared of the new growth in comparison to the relaxed texture. I grew up thinking I had the nappiest coarsest hair on the planet. Whole time my curl pattern was beautiful, and I just didn’t know how to care for it.
I am a type 1 diabetic ( since 2000) and before my diagnosis my hair was mid back length however because of my sickness ( combined with having high blood pressure) I can't get it to grow past shoulder length no matter what moisturizing products I use or how much less I heat style my hair for whatever reason I'm convinced that it just won't grow anymore.

@@marciapeak893 on average all hair grows at .5 inches a month… perhaps some ppl slightly more or less but I think a lot of ppl think black hair grows slower when in fact it’s most likely not but just breaking off so it just appears that way
Yes true ! So why is she cutting that woman’s hair if it’s so healthy? Because she is Scissor HaPPY🤪😡
Something to think about…. Homeless women or depressed women always seem to have full heads of long hair…. Even if it’s matted or dreadlocked. In the videos where they get their makeovers, their hair is down their backs….
The reason? They leave their hair alone
I'm obsessed with watching these videos. Crystal does such a great job!
Absolutely beautiful and healthy hair. However, I am in my sixties with long hair, that haven't had a relaxer in 6 months. Oftentimes, I am flabbergasted about long my hair has grown. I'm waiting for the finishing touches you've done to the client's long and flowing hair.
She’s got such beautiful long relaxed hair 😊❤great sharing dear
Beautiful job Chrystal have a great day
Simply Beautiful!!! Yay for my relaxed Ladies❤️
I had a beautician tell me that your hair will break when it is natural. That confused me 🤔 and made no sense, I just figured she didn't want to "deal with" natural hair and the lack of salon visits. Then ironically a year later she cut her hair and is still natural to this day lol
Exactly you see how this beautician glorifying and loving this type of hair but referring to 4c hair as coarse and unruly it’s because this hair takes no effort to do
KUDOS TO HER ✊🏾
When I was relaxed my hair would matt horribly... Everyone texture can't handle it
Wow, her hair is absolutely gorgeous 🤗❤❤
yes it is! glad she didn't cut it! 😊
Beautiful long healthy hair
Beautiful relaxed hair! This video is giving ASMR, very soothing ❤️🙏🏾
@@silivonacooper1287 10 min
Absolutely Beautiful Healthy Relaxed Hair
Side note. Ladies you are beautiful no matter what your hair looks like! You are soo much more then just that.
I also had long relaxed hair not ankle length but it was long.
I agree if you can take care of your relaxer and go to a stylist with good vibes that actually care for your hair it will grow long. Keep stylist with bad vibes out of your hair.
@@angieang26 Agree 100 percent !
@@goldenlady1213 thank you. Because not everyone have your best interest at heart. Stylists with bad vibes will break your hair off. And will stunt your growth. I know because I went to a stylist for 11 years and my hair never flourished.
@@angieang26 Let's not forget the nice acting ones that will secretly snip your ends behind your back, then try to kick the evidence under the chair when they get caught. This is when you say whats on your mind, leave ,and NEVER come back EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's something about a trim that's so satisfying to watch.
She makes me want to relax my hair, so beautiful
Thank you for posting this. Im relaxed. This is motivation and hair goals !! 🙌 Thanks for the inspiration 🙏 ❤️
Relaxed hair can get long, it's just that most of the time it's too thin and lifeless for my liking. But you did a great job and she looks great!
I was going to make a statement about relaxed hair looking thin, but you beat me to it😁
Def be thin , I like big hair
A lot of times it's thin because people relax it bone straight or use the extra strength relaxers on hair that's fine or low density.
I've had a relaxer 25 years.... My hip length hair has never looked thin! Its always been thick and long.
@@canigetit2008 good for you girl
Her hair is gorgeous ❤❤
I also think even if she was natural he hair would grow well if she took care of it. Some have great genetics. And paired with a good hair routine can achieve length
Exactly. Genetics and great hair care.
Her hair is so beautiful and healthy.🥰
I'm also chiming in to say that I LOVE your outfit!!!
But you have to get the right hairdresser to have relax hair. You can't always find them.
@@JAM....1212 how often do you retouch?
Growing up, I’ve always had relaxed hair from childhood and my hair was sprouting like crazy and was healthy.. now I’m trying to be on that natural wave and my hair is growing but not as fast as it was when I was relaxed so I’m going back to relaxed
Examine your diet. Hormones & aging could be factors. I believe hair is more to do with genetics. If you're a person who always had hair whether it's natural or relaxed it will grow the same. To me the growth changes based on hormones, aging, & diet. Sometimes sleep habits or water in take as well
It’s growing the same just natural is curly and doesn’t look as long.
You say one day you are going to do something.i wouldn’t trust anyone but you. I am a 78 year old white former beautician and you really know your techniques to perfection. Just love watching and learning from you.
Me too
All hair can be healthy, one just have to know their hair how to take care of it. and it can grow no matter what state..
Her hair is beautiful, I’m on a hair growth journey at the moment my hair is 12 inches long trying to get it to 16 inches my hair is also relaxed.
Her hair is beautiful 🥰👍👍 great job
Thank you for your video. You gave me a new perspective. Her hair is beautiful.
Off course relax hair can grow and very long the problem is many people over process it by believing that as soon as the new growth comes in is time for a relaxer and that's what breaks the relax hair. So now we know to relax the hair every 3 months 4 or six months.
her hair is so pretty you have done a great job
Notice how happy you are with the length of this relaxing hair. Good for youm
Exactly if it was 4c hair she would have been complaining how coarse and unruly it is plus dragging it rough
Her hair is beautiful
She looks awesome gurl be safe out there yall
Let’s be honest this isn’t the case for most people. There’s always best case scenario for natural or relaxed.
It is the case. Its just that we've heard and seen a lot of horror stories growing up. The relaxer isn't the problem it's the maintenance and the bad styles we do once we have them.
I agree. I have bad experiences with relaxers. I guess it just depends.
Her hair is beautiful.
Sooo true.
If you don't mind me asking how did you get your hair to grow that long after going natural?
@@spiritualone2173 I wash my hair with shampoo twice a month and condition 2 times a month deep condition 1-2 times a month. I try to keep my hair in braids with my natural hair I’ll also brush and oil every week to keep fresh and remove shedded hair. I DONT use oil daily and I only put it mid way to the ends of my hair. I don’t really do wash and goes either and I use mostly Camille rose products and try to always sleep with a satin bonnet. Hopefully that helps you on your journey
@@nishiababii3180 thank you for your response.
@@spiritualone2173 first thing to know is that your hair is always growing. Second thing is, you have to learn how to take care of it so that what is growing will not break off. You have to learn how to handle tightly curly/coily hair. It's not straight hair so it requires different care.
I nice roller set would've been nice with big roller, with having postpartum shedding and being relaxed direct heating tools are not ideal.
Crytstal I love your weight loss. You look great!
Yes your right definitely loads more work being natural! That looks like a Dyson dryer!
Hi crystal her hair is beautiful, and I love your outfit.
Beautiful RELAXED hair 😍 #goals
Such long hair on a melanin American women theses days seem rare. She must have her own hair care products or something. That's definitely a healthy head of hair. Thanks for sharing.🙂💙
My God it looks beautiful Crystal.

Very Beautiful Hair, and You did an Amazing Job!!
I like your presentations I'm not Black but I've always had wild unruly hair ,and having long Sshiney straight hair is only a dream!
Her hair is beautiful and long but the media is saying that it could cause cancer in the future what is your opinion thanks
That would be me, I'm glad to see it possible to have long relaxed hair.
Back in my hay-day…. I did nothing but grow out my clients hair to 14 inches plus… relaxed… and healthy!✨✨✨✨
Why is the natural 4B/4c hair texture not an option for you?
Protein moisture balance (weekly)
relaxer every 16-18 weeks
trim every 8 weeks
low manipulative styles
direct heat only 3-4 times a year
moisturize and seal as needed
You will see results!
Absolutely Beautiful Healthy Hair🥰
Ma’am you are really tempting me to go back to the creamy crack. I’m 4years natural and just cut off 3.5 inches for the third time. My hair grows so fast now but I’m scared of the new growth in comparison to the relaxed texture. I grew up thinking I had the nappiest coarsest hair on the planet. Whole time my curl pattern was beautiful, and I just didn’t know how to care for it.
My hair has been relaxed since I was ten years old! I’m almost 60 years old…… still with relaxed and very healthy hair.
But damaged spongy brain tissue... this will affect your ascension Goddess. Stop propagating chemical death.
Can we just talk about your outfit? You look amazing 🤩 I love it

Wow! Beautiful hair. I loved having long relaxed hair. I just didn’t like all of the maintenance time I spent on it. But hers is beautiful ❤
Wow beautiful hair!
