this is probably why we didn't get a buzzfeed unsolved because Ryan was napping
*I don't even care what this video is about, RYAN AND SHANE are back people!*
Naps are what get me through my day until I sleep, so this is a good video for me
I can't even nap. I'll just lay there with my eyes closed... Unless I'm at school.
same lol
u need more subs xD
Nagrooven same
Nagrooven same
Yup
Realistically, they probably got lower times on the puzzle because they'd already seen it
Grace Bej Yeah, duh, that’s what I was thinking
Nap rule number one... silence your phone.
Ikr?
WHY ARE YOU EVERYWHERE
YOUR EVERYWHERE!
You literally must spend your whole time on RUclips seeming as you are in the comment section of every single video I watch😂
you are a loser.
My naps turn into deep sleep. I wanted to take a quick nap, I ended up sleeping for about 12 hours. So it's either I stay awake or go to sleep 🤣
Hahaha me every day
Exactly lol
ND G Same
Same here, if I decide to take a "nap" I usually wake up 3/4 hours after. :p
Jeez same I took a nap at school and I went to sleep by accident missing 2 classes o-o
RYAN! I miss you and Buzzfeed Unsolved! You've made my favorite RUclips show. Come back!
Amberger Helper same!
also shane, cause I'm prettty sure he was the narrator
Amberger Helper next week !!!!!
shamx rose Wonderful! So many Buzzfeed creators are leaving, I was concerned he'd left.
Soon. Very, very soon.
I can hear Shane #shaniacs unite
Not Lauren #shaniacs and #rynasours (idk if i spelled that right 😂)
+Hayley Gajewski uh-uh it's #ryantists :3
Are they napping together, then? ;)
Jk, I'll go kill myself.
Alec no it's "i'll go home"😉
Anna McNally OMG, yes! :DD
"We tried napping-"
Honey, napping shouldn't be a _try,_ it should be _instinct._
Alycornz yep
It's not Unsolved but if it has Ryan and Shane I'm all for it
30 minute naps?! dude, I fall asleep after 30 minutes, let alone wake up after 30 minutes.
Anym it takes me like 2 hours to fall asleep
Clearly you do not need naps then.
Me too. I have to take 4 hour-naps.
The whole point of power naps is to NOT fall into a REM Cycle. REM sleep happens 45 minutes+ into sleeping/resting.
lihbee to be fair R.E.M. Sleep is the only kind of a sleep that is beneficial to you. The other kind may make you feel better temporarily but won't let your body heal or "become more awake", for a lack of a better phrase, even though you can't get "hours back" anyways.
Could you try napping in an abandoned or haunted building? That would be great
+Sebastian Barzee Take a hint, Sebastian. This was the point of the op.
My area code :)
i wonder if ryan wheezes in his sleep
Lol
The reason they did the puzzle faster was because they already did it once so they knew were and how to put the blocks in
Exactly.
Don't care if naps are good for me. Buzzfeed Unsolved and Supernatural are good for me. Bring it back soon, please.
That experiment was fundamentally flawed. The reason the people improved on the TODDLERS toy is unlikely because of sleep and much more likely because of experience. They need a control group.
I'll see you next week Ryan 😂😂😂😊😄 #onemoreweektillbuzzfeedunsolved
Notyouravarage kidder hype hype
20-25 minutes is the golden period. another key factor is that you're not supposed to go into too deep a sleep. you don't even have to feel drowsy. you can stay awake. what you really need is that time to just empty out your mind from EVERYTHING, and close your eyes.
another thing that may help those feeling cranky after waking up from a nap is drinking coffee at least 30-40 minutes prior (i.e. while eating your lunch). you may think that's counter intuitive for someone who plans to go to sleep, afterwards but considering it takes ~40-60 minutes for caffeine to start affecting your physiology, you'll be thankful for feeling that fresh right after or soon after a nap. hey, it works for me.
Best way to power nap, is to take in caffeine right before the nap. It takes 20-30min for caffeine to take effect so when you wake up caffeine kicks in
snapy15 yeah they did a video on that
I wouldn't be able to fall asleep in 20 mins though haha
That sounds so cool :o
Only 90's kids will remember when this video was called "we tried power napping for a week and we sucked at it"
give me that pillow and blanket & ill nap for sure
It probably would've helped if they'd darkened the room they chose to sleep in, so that there are no lights bothering them. Also, they should perhaps turn off their phones so they won't be bothered by people messaging them. Another thing that helps is soothing sounds/white noise; & if you listen to it with earphones, it blocks out the sounds of other people who might be nearby (either talking or making noise of some kind). I only know this because I use this method to get to sleep, as I have bad insomnia. I also have to keep my room as dark as possible, or else I can't possibly get rested. It isn't easy, getting enough sleep every day; but you simply take whatever you can get... 😴
I watched this because Ryan was in this aha
I wish I appreciated my having to take naps as a toddler more
I need the wheeze so bad baby, give me the wheeze.
Me: *takes a nap*
Also me: *wakes up 9 hours later*
True story
Nappuccino: chug a caffeinated beverage (not a scolding hot one), put on darkening eyemask/cover face with dark fabric, nap for 20min (silence phone, set alarm) = feel rested AND energized! **Caffeine takes 20min to kick in on average so when you are actually tired and needing a nap, but have stuff to do in the next hour or so, this can work!**
we miss buuzzfeed unslolved! this has to be a grand come back!
If u guys didnt know, Shane is doing the voiceover.
RYAN!!!!! PLZ DO UNSOLVED
(EDIT) Wow, he heard me
Or, maybe, JUST MAYBE, they somewhat remembered the shapes in the cube and which pieces went where. P.S. I take naps a few times a week when I get home from work.
Shane, come on I know this is buzzfeed but you can't tout this as a legit test (even setting aside obvious things just because buzzfeed isn't an anthropology lab... openly, anyway) but what I mean is giving them the exact same puzzle at the end of the week. The first time it was a surprise, and they had never seen it before. Solving it again means subconsciously remembering where the shapes are on the block relative to others, which means at least the rate of improvement the two subjects saw could be expected. I dunno, I'm no scientist either
But when they did the box shape thingy wouldn't they be quicker cuz they remembered where the shapes are and where they fit in???
i guess the "Power Nap" title wasn't click-baity enough?
Sometimes when I wake up from naps I feel more tired than when I went to sleep
Am I the only one that wakes up from their nap grouchy and irritated? Yeah? Ok...😳
SAME
_ TepigLover2.0 _ same
Who are the characters in your profile pic?
Ladygothii12 Hinata Shoyo, Tsukushima kei, and Kageyama Tobio.
_ TepigLover2.0 _ OMG SAME😓
So, they basically have one criteria to see if their productivity increased, without even coming back to the mood thing, and it's to redo a toddler shape thing that they only did one week before like they would have forget ?
i try to nap, i set a 30 min timer and i turn it off in my sleep. my 30 min nap turns into a 4 hour nap....
wasn't this called "We tried power napping and we sucked at it"
alexis vasquez they changed the title like 3 times
Feels good to hear Shane doing most of the talking.
I am italian and napping is VERY important in our culture :)
Thought it was Buzzfeed Unsolved night ☹️
I napped while this video played in the background
At least they're honest
Isn't a more probable cause for the increased speed in solving the shape cube due to have already done it once before?! Especially since none of them actually could nap at all during the week..
I recommend using Relax Melodies, you combine different calming sounds however you like it to help you relax, meditate, or sleep.
In the US most of us don't even get a break at our jobs at all unless it's a bathroom break. At my last job there were several times where I had to work 16 hours straight. On my days off I nap and usually feel pretty refreshed after my nap.
I don't nap, what I do is what people used to do in the past. I sleep in two segments. I sleep 4 hours, stay awake for 4 hours, then sleep 4 more hours after that. our bodies were never meant to stay awake 16 hours straight, we only started doing that when light bulbs were invented.
Different times depending on when my work hours are over.
Morrius07 do u find urself being more productive?
Definitely! I do think you have to like your job and those you work with to be successful at it though, My lifestyle does not allow for much socializing outside of the internet and workplace.
WHERE'S THE NEXT BUZZFEED UNSOLVED AT?!?!
Napping is very beneficial for females in menopause/ much lower risk of heart attack and stroke, if you have a routine and allow yourself 30 minutes of relaxation .resting your eyes even if you do not fall asleep your body gets rest just buy breathing closing your eyes and being nice and comfy and warm.
Rules for napping :
Rule 1 : Relax
Rule 2 : Pick up a blanket
Rule 3 : You start getting the hang of it
Rule 4 : someone texted you
Rule 5 : You pick up your phone and check social media
Rule 6 : You are late to work
Rule 7 : You nap at work...
These were all the rules into napping XD
At a physical(injury) rehab facility we had a psychologist that would turn lights off and say a certain sequence of relax toes, ankles etc all the way up your body till you passed out and people that swore they wouldn't fall asleep were out(everyday)!! Maybe talk to a professional to teach your crew! And the world!!
So a video with Ryan and Shane but no Unsolved??
Wait was the title changed? Something about power napping?
yes that and the thumbnail i think?
I like how buzzfeed tells me to nap but I'm watching this video at 2 in the morning. Yay nap!!
They talk about getting enough sleep while I'm here watching it at one in the morning
Watched this before napping, was scared it was going to turn out bad for you🤣😂
I always wake up pissed and exhausted from naps idk why
Everytime I try to take a 'quick' nap, I tend to wake up 2 hours later. Also, I read somewhere that napping after learning a new skill can help... uh.. keep you maintain that skill (idk the right word lol).
on a totally unrelated note, I really enjoyed Shane's commentary
Ha. I came here bcs of Ryan. Yes. *I'm madly inlove*
I love taking power naps. I started doing this during my senior year of high school. Max. 40 minutes for me. I can't go over that without waking up tired.
A lot of the countries where they have siestas, they also have a "staying up late" culture.... it's hot and humid places so the mid day rest is required to get through the day ;)
Yey for napping! 😃
Were allowed to nap for 2 hours at work everyday, thank God for that! 😃
How soon Ryan! And Shane I hear you don't think I can't 😂Hhhhmmmmmmmmmm unsolved!
I have fantastic power naps. I take one every day, in fact. I lie down for sixteen minutes, fully flat on the ground, and once my alarm wakes me up, I feel as if I'd had a full night's sleep. The trick is to practice. It sounds counterproductive, but you need to figure out how many minuets is enough - not too much to feel groggy, and not too little for it to not be effective.
You have to be USED to napping.. Can't just start napping cold turkey! Lol
Shane!!! Lol... don't ever leave Buzzfeed!!!
are naps good for you? "I guess this mystery -will stay unsolved."
I LOVE Naps. They are GOLD. I think caffeine is a definite enemy of naps tho. If I have caffeine that day, I cannot' nap :O
Caffeine and Naps are not friends.
I don't think I could nap at work but my sofa at home is like a sleeping pill. Especially during the day. I've had some great naps there.
sleepy soft ryan is the cutest thing i’ve ever seen
One thing I have a question about in the difference of their times for completing the task is were they statistically significant? It's pretty quick to run that test to see if they are. But the sample size is small so idk if you can accurately conclude anything from that time difference.
Nobody noticed that the thumbnail and title changed? The title was 'we tried napping, (and sucked at it)' and the thumbnail was of amanda
If you want a successful nap, get rid of all daylight from the room. The problem with naps is the insomnia it gives you when you wake up. I had a 1 hour nap after school (luckily it was Friday) and didn't go to sleep til 3am the next morning
I feel like the reason they were faster at the toy cube thing after the week was because they had already done it once
I always wake up from a nap grumpy and irritated
M. if its 50 minutes or longer you would wake feeling like that
It's hard for me to take naps with my current work schedule. I only work 4 days a week, but each day I work is a 10 hour shift, with only a 30 minute lunch break allotted.
I'm a simple person. I see Ryan. I hear Shane. I like video and await July 28 with an anticipation that rivals my wait for season 7 Ep.1 of GOT. #BuzzfeedUnsolved #UnsolvedTrueCrime #KeepRyansAnimations
Wait is that shane narrating
I'm a Filipino good thing. I also wanna take a nap but I never did but when I was a baby. Of course!
BuzzFeed unsolved...
Can't wait😊
Never been a napper, all the way back to kindergarten. Just stayed awake the whole time.
The staff didn't give me a hard time because I knew to stay quiet while the other kids slept.
My mom could tell if I was sick if I fell asleep during the day.
Even now if I try to nap I either stay awake or sleep for a few hours.
the only time i can nap is when i'm in school 😂😂😂
well, neither is ghost-hunting, but you've got an entire season of it on buzzfeed unsolved ryan
Is that Shane narrating?
This video has had 3 names
Takes a while to get used to them.
Loads of people in warm countries have a siesta and love it.
When you're watching this right after you just woke up from a nap...
No no, you make Unsolved now, me want Unsolved!! Shane, Ryan, make it happen!!!
I really miss it :(
Test procedure by using the simple block puzzle wasn't really controlled for well...high chance they performed better after their nap week because they were already familiar with the puzzle, not necessarily because they napped for a week. Unless they received completely different puzzles, then...well what can you expect lol, not the most scientific research
2:02 that face tho😪😪
Yes, nap will improve my skill on toys.
Great thinking, Murica.
Once at school, we had a thing called "napersize". We got to bring our sleeping bags and whatever we can sleep on and had one of the blocks to sleep
Ryan make more buzzfeed unsolved
Always wondered why naps stop being a thing after pre-school and kindergarten. Seems to me, even if you don't actually sleep, resting your brain for 20-40 min during your work or school day should be encouraged. No idea how one would regulate that, but y'know, be nice if there were nap stations in schools and offices..
Next up on Buzzfeed "We tried power walking. We found it was impossible"
My problem with trying to power nap is there's a time limit so I can't fall asleep because I'm constantly wondering how much time I have left.
"Hearty lunch" = 4 big mac's and 6 large fries
Ryan voice: This week on Buzzfeed unsolved we go deep into the truth about naps...
I just want Unsolved Mysteries back...
