    5:44 What you are referring to here is the 60/30/10 Rule! The Dominant color that you want people to notice first is the 60, the second important, but not as dominant color is the 30, and the color used in small accents, is the 10.

    Your art style is cute and beautiful you're sooooo underrated I don't understand why. I've learnt more in 10 minutes than I could in any art class

    I have been trying to find a surface like the one you are working on with the grid. How do I find something like that?

    • @megguran
      @megguran  Год назад

      It's called a self healing cutting mat! You can find them at most art supply stores.

    Hi love your video! Wanted to ask if I use HB pencil to draw out the shapes and use a posca pen ontop will the HB pencil come through? Thank you

    • @megguran
      @megguran  3 года назад

      Graphite will show through posca markers, but sometimes it can be a stylistic choice! However, I find the markers will smudge pencil lines into the paint. Col-erase pencils by prisma color are great if you want an erasable color pencil to use, or colored lead for mechanical pencils 😊

    Love it! Have you tried rendr or bristol paper?

    • @megguran
      @megguran  2 года назад +1

      I have! I'm a big fan of smooth bristol :^) rendr has an interesting texture but I love that it doesn't bleed! I prefer alcohol markers on those papers, but I haven't tried posca on them!

    I was wondering why you sketch out the initial drawing with a colored pencil instead of a 'regular grey pencil'?

    • @megguran
      @megguran  2 года назад +2

      Hello! I find that regular graphite pencils have a tendency to smudge or muddy the colors of the paint markers. I use a light color pencil that can easily be covered by the posca and it does not smudge when painted over :^) hope this helps!

    • @kristelversteegh2459
      @kristelversteegh2459 2 года назад

      @@megguran Thank you! I've recently started using Posca myself and I draw using regular graphite pencils but when I use a light pink Posca pen for example, you still see the grey of the pencil. I will try it with a different colored pencil 😁

      Definitely!! I've tried a watercolor paper but it still pilled a little bit, but haven't tried a hot pressed watercolor paper! I'll definitely try again next time ☺️
