Hi everyone! I finally tried out Posca Paint Pens!! I'd heard so many great things about these paint pens over the past couple of years, and after recently starting my new mixed media sketchbook I thought it would be a lot of fun to finally see what they're like for myself. I loved working on this and I really hope you enjoy the video! Be sure to let me know what you think - and please let me know if you have any suggestions for future art videos I should try.
Also, as some of you might have seen on social media, my cat (Smudge) passed away earlier in the month. It's been difficult, but I just wanted to let you know that's why I hadn't posted a video for a while. I'm doing ok. Made sure to keep busy with cleaning and upgrading my studio. I enjoyed getting back into working on a project like this again.

How about combining the previous comments ideas and... painting a steampunk (instead of cyberpunk) dragon using watercolors? I can imagine it as a giant machine reptile with a semi transparent "skin" on its chest revealing a steam engine operated by people using the dragon as an unusual vehicle.
I think I complicated it too much.

You should, gouache is like posca watercolor
@@LethalChris1 I can second gouache. And also recommend Inktense, especially if you use the block form. There is a lot of variation to be had, you can go opaque, or more watered down.

a tip for posca pen blending is a sponge works great if you dab the edges of the colour with the other

Chris, please try the Posca pens with Mid Tone Paper. The results are amazing. And btw, if your local art store will have them soon. Get the Neon versions. The Neon and Mid Tone paper, work amazingly ^^

I agree with this comment. Try the cyberpunk art again with the neons and mid tone paper.
oh wow! i really think these pens bring out your specific talent for contrast and legibility. with the more solid color blocking (as opposed to your more usual ultra real ultra blended color), the shapes of this drawing feel so bold and dynamic!! like, pow! in your face! artwork, if that makes sense. id love to see more POSCA pen content, perhaps mixing them with other supplies like you mentioned. regardless of you come out with next, ill be excited to see it!

I was looking for cyberpunk 2077 art on google images, the thumbnail of your video appeared, i clicked by accident. I really wasnt looking for a video about drawing or anything like that, but man, i do not regret coming here.
You are awesome. I can only imagine how much time and effort you put in your art to achieve this kind of result when trying a different tool for the first time. I loved the colors and the finishing with the orange surrouding and the sun in the background. I'm not even gonna talk about the coloring of the hair. Great video. I've only ever used white posca pens for highlights on my drawings. You can draw on quite a few surfaces too,like glass,plastic,pebbles etc. The ink is also waterproof so if you draw on something outside it won't wash off in the rain.

ive seen many posca pens reviews on youtube over the years but none have inspired me to get them, until this one. love it!!
dude, that piece at the end is seriously great. not many people would try to color that all in by hand. would be much easier to do in a program. but it looks fantastic.
Even 25 yrs ago as a graffiti artist and tagger..Posca was the No.1 Pen!!

I think you can use them as watercolours if you need lighter tones. Applying paint onto a separate paper then using water and a brush to pick some up
You should really do more stuff like this in the future. I lost my cats a couple years ago and understand it can be hard. Hope you keep up the great content. Wish you the best 😄

Gesso base on a wood canvas is pretty much heaven with acrylic pump markers. Nice work
About a month ago I drew out a character similar to this but didn't post it anywhere because I didn't want backlash from people throwing fits about me making fun of covid. its nice to pick up color with a brush from them to reach certain effects... i like them.

I've been wanting to try out poska pens since you can't really blend them and such, i really like the art style where it's a bit rougher iit makes sence. I really love how the cyberpunk drawing turned out and how you were able to do the little details. I'm now gonna try and convince my mom to buy me poska pens for my birthday

Love the brightness of the colors. You are obviously an incredible artist! And the idea that it is in pen form wants me to try it out. I'm just not happy with the bubbles and smears it makes at some points. it reminds me of when oil paint dries and you want to correct something, then it creates that break/smear effect I hate. I also wouldn't mind if oil paint came in pen form, but don't think that will be possible.
