"Letters" Painting Process
This video failed to upload earlier so I forgot everything I wrote in the description LMAO I cry!!! But basically, this painting video was a long one in the making! Those of you who follow me on Instagram might recognize this painting from last year. I had made a reel/tiktok of the process in three parts. I am here to finally share a longer process video that also shares my thought process when approaching a painting like this. I hope the video makes some sense, since I had a pretty tough time figuring out how cut and stitch together all the clips (and whether or not I should incorporate a voice over or what), but overall I think it came out as best as I could! Please ignore how yellow an...

    I'm getting ready to a teach kids art class and was looking for an easy clean-up method so parents don't have to be too involved in clean-up. This kills two birds with one stone. 1. Teach the kids a wet pallete diy. Check! 2. Different water disposal method. Check! Thanks!

    Interesting and very nice work! I heard that for mixed media that this Acrylic Gouache is not really suitable for finishing with color pencils, any thoughts on that?!.. I know that traditional Gouache or Watercolor is allowing color pencils very well and almost seems like it is made to work together.. But the pencils become dull on top of this acrylic gouache and so people recommend Flashe Vinyl over Acrylic Gouache.. If only the acrylic Gouache would take pencils just like traditional gouache or like Flashe Vinyl, it would actually be the most premium art medium.. What I do like much about Acrylic Gouache over traditional, is less color change when dry, more cheap than traditional gouache, it does not crackle being flexible, less brush stroke textures and it does not reactivate after drying.. Though the big downside is that it does not take pencil/mixed media, which is huge if not able to potentially be the base layer for hyper realistic pencil drawing and or just semi realistic pencil renderings ect.. It just seems like acrylic gouache is purely made to work on its own.. So the search for my desired workflow medium keeps hitting dead ends..

    • @megguran
      @megguran 8 месяцев назад

      Oh! Interesting! I haven't heard about that before. Maybe for archival reasons that it isn't suitable? I am not very sure. I didn't really have an issue going into my acrylic gouache paintings with color pencil, however I don't use a lot. It's really just to touch up any areas of shadow for a more textured blend, but I found the acrylic gouache to have a nice velvet texture when it is dried for color pencil! To each their own methods I suppose!

    • @SkywalkFPV
      @SkywalkFPV 8 месяцев назад

      @@megguran Hey thank you for reaching out and yes for sure for each there own methods, just being curious here =) many artists use pencils to finish the whole painting in there workflow not only touch ups.. Mostly for hyper and or semi realistic art ect they use watercolor and gouache for base layer only to setup light, shadow and color tones, to then draw on top with pencils until finished.. That is more like considered the basic method for full blown mixed media where also fineline inks ect can come into play.. Anyway another channel 'Moni Dmajor' has a comparison video that shows the surface difference, if you are interested in this eye opener, that is called: Colored Pencils over Acryla Gouache? Try Flashe Paint, instead! Swatching & Testing Demo

    I miss the typewriter my family had from grandpa, it was a really loud electric one and I stubbed my toe so bad on the case one time that I limped for a couple weeks afterwards, but the tactile quality and having to manually get the lines right is a fun challenge (I’m referring more to the older type). If I get another one for myself I would have to reteach myself how to use it since it’s been so long though.
