    My client has a sway back posture with posterior pelvic tilt. So the cobra stretch is perfect for him, I didn't think you could have a sway back coupled with an anterior pelvic tilt...

    Hi Thank you for the video, very simple to understand and informative. You mentioned knees couple of times and in locked position. So knocked knees is due to the lazy posture? Also upto what extent can this posture be corrected? I have had limitations on my athletic abilities die to the flat lower back and inward knees. If you could shed some light on this, I would really appreciate it🙌 thanks again!

    • @CoreconceptsSg
      @CoreconceptsSg  4 года назад

      Hi Nishad, knocked knees can be a result of genetics or muscle tightness and weakness. The extent to which it can be corrected can only be determined after assessing the root cause of this poor posture. If it is caused by muscular related reasons, we are able to help to the full extent. For some, it can be caused by underlying conditions such as arthritis or spinal degeneration.

    Moving pelvis back, puts too much pressure on the back of already hyperextended knee.. I find the wall kising with a pilow between the pelvis and wall a good way to correct posture.
    Anyways thx for that explanation .It was perfect

Is good if I cycling with flat back position , not rounded in lower back? Do you have any other advices or videos ( exercises) for problem with flat lower back ? On the web you can find advices that swimming is good for lower back pain, but just swiming backstrokes ? Your advice breastsroke. Interesting. Thanks for answers

    Swayback posture in humans is characterised by the posterior displacement of the rib cage in comparison to the pelvis. It looks like the person has a hyperextension of the natural lordosis, however this is not necessarily the case. Most sway-back exhibits a posteriorly tilted pelvis; the lumbar region is usually flat (too flexed) and not hyperlordotic (too extended).[1][2]poste!iorly tilted pelvis!

    can sway back posture be coupled with upper torso rotation ?

  • @kristytamo
    @kristytamo 8 лет назад +2

    Now it is actually confusing. I am studying posture analysis right now, and the materials are contradicting.
    One theory says that the pelvis is neutral or posteriorly tilted with flat-ish lumbar spine, and the second theory says anteriorly tilted pelvis with lumbar lordosis.
    So I think there is a naming problem. The S shape I would call Kyphosis-lordosis posture, and the other one swayback.

    • @CoreconceptsSg
      @CoreconceptsSg  8 лет назад +1

      The swayed back posture is when the pelvis is in a neutral position or posteriorly tilited. The problem is that the pelvic is swayed forward. To correct the problem, you will need to bring the pelvis back above the ankle and the thorax needs to move anteriorly- to counter the change in centre of gravity
      Regarding the naming problem, there is a flat back posture as the pelvis is in a posterior tilt. The kyphosis- lordotic posture is where the pelvis is in anterior tilt with increased kyphosis while the swayed back posture is where the pelvis is usually either in neutral position or posterior tilt. The reason it may be confusing is because we are using the same model for our posture videos and she is put in a forced posture which may not necessarily reflect the actual posture. Hope that was helpful for your understanding!

    this is NOT swayback posture. Swayback posture is when there is posterio hip tilt. She has Anterior tilt posture which is the opposite for swayback.

    can i wear the spine corrector to fix the sway back ?

    • @downstreamlife
      @downstreamlife 6 лет назад

      I would strongly advise you to use physiotherapy and yoga

    • @CoreconceptsSg
      @CoreconceptsSg  4 года назад +1

      Wearing the spine corrector doesn't fix the root cause of the problem, which is the muscle weakness. This may only make your muscles weaker as it increase your reliance on the spine corrector to support your posture.

    Can i do half squat?

    • @CoreconceptsSg
      @CoreconceptsSg  7 лет назад +1

      Yes you can, provided that your back is in a neutral position. Engage your lower abdominals, sit back as you do your squat (imagine sitting on to a chair but without landing on the chair). Do not allow your knees to travel forwards, so your knees stay relatively the same over your ankles.

    • @Nguyen2-t9p

      I am 27 yo, i work out at local gym about 8 months. I think regular squats, front squats and sumo deadlifts are make my arc low back worse. Even bench press is require a arc back to gain maximum effective. So can i skip them..? Btw, can I walk up to stair? I think it is the same with step up exercise.

    • @CoreconceptsSg
      @CoreconceptsSg  7 лет назад +2

      Try to maintain a neutral spine while doing these exercises. Tuck in your tailbone slightly and try the exercises again to see if there is pain. Reason being is that if you do not maintain a neutral spine, you will end up loading the spine and causing pain. Avoid doing dead lifts if you experience back pain even after tucking in your tailbone as it can be extremely bad for your back.
      Yes - you can walk up the stairs, it is pretty much the same as the step up exercise, but do remember to maintain proper posture while doing so!

    • @Nguyen2-t9p
      @Nguyen2-t9p 7 лет назад

      I suffer both of anterior pelvis tilt and swayback, and i have a hunch neck, i work 9hrs a day, sitting atleast 3 hrs a day, it's impossible to maintain a proper posture when do anything, anyway, fixing something will make something worse.

    • @CoreconceptsSg
      @CoreconceptsSg  7 лет назад +3

      It is difficult to maintain proper posture, but not changing anything would eventually cause your pains to worsen by putting your body in a non-ideal position for a prolonged period of time. Perhaps it would be a good idea to seek professional advice from a physiotherapist who can assess your problem more accurately and come up with a specific program to help adjust your posture so that you can go back to doing the things you love again without pain.
