My Mum had terminal cancer, and at times near the end she would say that she'd had enough and wanted it to end; but then when she almost died, she cried and said that she didn't want to die yet. She had a few 'near calls' when she almost died and when it came to the end, she wanted to live. But if you had asked her on one of her down days, she would say she had had enough and if it were law maybe doctors would have done something. BTW we know for sure of 2 instances in our own family of terminally ill men, who were put on very high dose morphine and were told that the dose itself might kill them, and it did. So really that was a situation where in a way the doc assisted their death, and honestly in both those cases for the individuals concerned it was a release. but its so difficult
I don't agree with assisted death being made legal, BUT at the same time I do sympathise with those who get so desperate that they go down this route. It seems to me that more should be done to help people be painfree when they are in these circumstances. But it's a complicated issue, and I don't believe that there's an easy answer.
I also will turn the subtitles on, but I don't have it on automatically; but if I'm having difficulty following something (eg if they are talking fast or not clearly, or if the kids I am watching are playing nearby) I will turn them on and it is very helpful. I get upset when I need it and they aren't available. I also sometimes watch something in other languages so having English subtitles are great
I definitely wouldn't survive in the wilderness I hate bugs n would be scared of running into animals like Judi said n I'm like the rest of the ladies I rather take a Uber than hike 🤣💜
