I like Katies and I do really admire her in many ways but please there is nothing "British"about people getting on with it and dealing with adversity....I mean I don't think we could say to Palestinians or millions and millions of others all over the world living in extreme poverty or war that they just need to be more "British"and get on with it...its a human thing nothing to do with nationality and if anything as Brits we are probably one of the moaniest nations in the world and moan and complain rather than actually change things to deal with them. What happned to Katie and how she dealt with it is admirable and also had something to do with the help and support of family and her own resilience...its admirable but lets face it women in India and other places where women are victims of acid attacks have to face the same thing and its not their Britishness that gets them through.

When my Grandad was in hospital, we couldn’t find a nurse to help him at first, when we did eventually find one, she seemed clueless and another time there was about 6 nurses all standing around laughing and chatting and yet there were buzzers going off and they weren’t rushing to help the patients. NHS staff don’t work as hard as Jane said. They’re actually very neglectful.
